#is there ANY way to make the chatbox work on -small resolutions?

ig if you're using -small you should expect a level of instability as the game's not intended to run in resolutions that require -small
i assume you've tried switching huds?
no because im assuming all huds are using the same chatbox
but if it might work sure
any recommended options or just stock?
i mean some huds have customized the chatbox a bit
pick any hud
preferably a well-known one
ok didnt know, ill try
but besides that is there like any way to fuck with the chatbox code yourself to make it work?
no clue i don't mess with stuff like that
and when i mean by "a bit" i mean like length x width changed or position on your screen
the essential chatbox code is probably the same
and it's plausible that -small gets rid of the chatbox entirely but i have zero clue (and that wouldn't make much sense but idk), changing huds is the most i can think of atm
yeah thats ok ill try dont worry
the thing is there, its just busted
you can type actually
and it would send a message
but you dont get to actually see anything
what you send or receive
no, console is the only way to read chat and it gets tiring really fast
yeah but if it doesnt work ill ask people who make huds what can i do about it, i just thought maybe someone knew a fix because -small is introduced and explained by mastercomfig docs, but thats alright
it does say however it just removes chatbox, so im not very hopeful
my guess is that the font being produced in chat is too small and not getting rendered properly but i have no knowledge about this stuff
wait what does, the docs?
if that's the case then yeah you can't bring it back unless you bump your res back up
you're probably stuck with that unfortunately, ig you can ask around but i don't have much hope either as the stuff on the docs is normally pretty concrete
Why are you using -small and then worrying about the chatbox?
Like, -small isn't supposed to be used unless you're doing record benchmarks or some shit
no, i just use it unironically
Yeah, but why?
Im actually had better fps with -small while cpu bound, op is right to use it
I don't think even a 1% increase in my fps is gonna outweigh the advantages of native res
