#Get CleanTF2+ working on Linux Mint

couldn't I just verify with my email or phone number or something
I genuinely need help with mastercomfig
but your verification system can't even let me do that
My current problem is: Mastercomfig doesn't get executed on game launch. I have to manually execute it in console once the game launches.
I've checked everything I could've thought of.
launch options, overrides, modules, reinstalling mastercomfig, etc.
[!] Unable to verify & comfig won't autoexec
@midnight hazel @verbal belfry sorry for ping, genuinely, but i dont want to get kicked again without the issue being solved
I just looked at whoever had the moderator role and was online
idk how the altdentifier thing works lemme check
oh i dont think i have access to it anyway i guess just wait for coms
i've used it like once before when testing out how to create a discord server
thank you mastercoms
ok let me explain issue better
Mastercomfig won't autoexec on game launch
Issue:
Mastercomfig isn't executing on game launch. I mean the config itself itself isn't so none of my overrides or modules are applied either.
I haven't changed anything except for in my own overrides/autoexec.cfg file recently which shouldn't interfere because it's preference commands like crosshair color, interp, and damage colors. I'm not sure what else could interfere because none of my other custom files have cfg in them or anything with the same name.
I have tried reinstalling mastercomfig, changing around my config and custom files, verifying game integrity, checking every other bit and detail. It's hard to understand what is causing it too because it appeared to just start happening out of the blue today. Now, I guess I wouldn't have a problem manually typing exec autoexec everytime I launch tf2, but I really wanna understand what went wrong.
My Launch options:
-r_emulate_gl -novid -nojoy -nohltv -noquicktime -nosteamcontroller -limitvsconst -precachefontchars -softparticlesdefaultoff -particles 1
Screenshots:
if I need to provide anything else, let me know please
whats in your valve.rc
you need exec autoexec in valve.rc
yeah that would make sense..
i am baffled by my stupidity
adding ;exec autoexec at the end should suffice right?
thanks
usually its before
What is this file?
It's a file that automatically executes convars
its a hidden part of base tf2
Get CleanTF2+ working on Linux Mint
repurposing this old help thread since creating a new post is stuck on 9 minute slowmode and not changing
Issue: CleanTF2+ installs and runs fine, but it says that vpk.exe is not found in the bin/ folder. I checked there, and it isn't. I have verified integrity twice, checked around other folders, and I couldn't think what else to do. Nothing comes up when trying to search it up or diagnose the root of the problem myself. So, I'm asking here since the only other place I could think of asking would be JarateKing's own DMs.
I have the dependencies installed, and I am using wine to properly run the .bat and/or .sh but the file required (vpk.exe) is simply nowhere to be found or get.
If anyone can help me with this, it would be appreciated. I really want to use the cleantf2 options except for flat textures and nohats.
I have it in custom\CleanTF2plus as well, so I'm still not sure what else is going wrong
(i tried both bat and sh)
if you use .sh then it shouldnt ask for vpk.exe
to clarify, the same thing happens without asking for vpk.exe
it exits and does nothing
I've probably done something wrong somehow
I'm just trying to figure out what while I wait to see if anyone magically has the answer
well, reinstalling it seems to work?
there's a materials folder but no output so I presume it's just doing it's creating or something
yes
.
that is what I meant
it's doing every option then I guess? I don't get to choose which not to do like in the windows version?
yes, linux version doesnt have that afaik
