Despite the numerous requests there is still no modmail, so I'm doing this publicly instead even though that's a bad idea. I really wished I could have enjoyed this server, but the sheer quantity of bigoted individuals that join the server and post avidly and hatefully is downright disgusting and sad. I wished that the mods would have done something proactive about it, like a honeypot to catch the scambots before they post and get victims. I truly think that the mods are putting their, especially younger members at risk.

Just because you think anyone who would fall for a scam bot is stupid and deserves it doesn't mean that you shouldn't do something to prevent those scam bots from joining the server using proven methods. Additionally with no formal mod mail system the only way to notify the staff about harmful trolls who are harassing members is to publicly post "<@&745328830649991179>" and invite harassment from the individual in question. I've been stalked from this server for arguing with an anti-black racist before, who then went on to make up a delusion in his mind about an imaginary black bf i have.

Worse than just being harassed, which I can handle and have for years, the mods very often side with the first person to ping them. Meaning that if you try to de-escalate the situation or trust in their good faith, they can ping the mods and get you muted, while they continue to actively post hurtful stuff.

The staff would rather hold up a veneer of 'civility' while permitting stalking, harassment, and bigoted worldviews to be shared here, so long as it's not an 'argument'.

I know this because I tried to explain it to multiple mods in DMs, as they ask. Only to be hard ignored

so with all that being said, I'm leaving the server. I like chess, and hoped being in here would get me more into chess. But DAILY 'windmill enjoyers' (cause the N-zi word is banned), and blatant transphobia that's not dealt with without someone complaining?

Hi, I’m sorry you had such a negative experience. Really. We do try hard to keep the server free of hate, and to make sure it follows our community guidelines. We do have automod protections and many many volunteers that work hard, but things can and should always improve. We never meant for anyone to feel prejudiced against. Chess is for everyone and so is this server, and hate has absolutely no place here. It’s hard sometimes for mods to access situations live - chat goes fast and they often dont have time to go back and read through hundreds of messages to understand context. Although we’re in a WAYYY better spot than we were before, clearly there is still a long way to go. If you wanna send over any information on people who are harassing others or ideas for bettering the server you said you have on my dm, we’re happy to hear them always. again, im sorry you encountered so many issues here.

As you pointed out, it’s not a singular mod’s fault. those people have jobs and lives and can’t always really dedicate a lot of time to each ping. they work very hard here, and they’re volunteers as it’s been pointed out. so I ask everyone to please direct big picture criticism like this to admins like Richard and I. Im unsure about your case but Ive watched some youtube videos show how chess.coms cheating algorythym is pretty hardcore heavy metal. I have confidence they catch them. When they do catch them you get points refunded. Look for a red circle by a players name in your history and they are the ones banned. Hover over that red circle for its reason
