I ran towards the shadow and it began to laugh manically as I saw my life flash before my eyes, every horrifying memory and I saw things that I was confident never occurred yet it felt so terribly real.
But that's when I realized I was always a breath away from the cold blanket of death.
I packed up my courage and took my karate stance as I dashed towards the creature, it attempted to swipe me with its massive arms however I dodged, seeing its "organs" I immediately directed my body towards it and kick the creature hard enough for its insides to spill out and its eerie smile turned to a frown of despair.
It began to moan in fear
and then began to laugh again and dissipated into thin air, followed by a loud bang from a mile tall beast.
it was the shadow in a possibly evolved form

but much, much larger.
Just when I thought it was completely over for me the ground below me opened like a trapdoor leading me to a state of calm and safety.
