But I knew why the divorce happened...and I understood that perhaps it was good that they took a divorce, even though it had some very bad collateral...

You need nail clippers for the dog, dog food (you do need to research healthy brands), dog shampoo, a leash, toys, a bed, training (you can train the dog with treats instead of paying for them), vaccine shots, a collar and a chip to track the dog if you ever lose it is recommended. Moka (I changed her name because Honey didn't really fit) is easier to take care of than my bigger dogs because she can't get into stuff she shouldn't get into as easily and she doesn't need to eat as much as them.
