I mean I think classifying a general category as great the way they do is a bit flawed. I think the moves labels as a whole tend to be misrepresentative of what the adjective actually means. With great based off their criteria simply classifying moves that are essential to the outcome of the game the way they do is flawed. Considering the fact that brilliants are often easier to find than those moves and also sometimes they'll be easier to find than move labels lower than great on their scale. When it comes to these adjectives like brilliant or great it's supposed to represent a certain standard of impressiveness and brilliant is supposed to be the highest so the absolute most impressive moves, great the 2nd tier of impressiveness, etc. But the way they categorize them just doesn't do that properly and it's dishonest so, overall I see the move labels as a whole as very flawed.

See you're misunderstanding the issue. when you say greats give you good feedback on doing something right. Yes the moves that get labeled great generally are the best move in the position. But the word great in reality is supposed to mean that a certain standard of impressiveness was met and their criteria doesn't match with that standard consistently especially considering the other move labels around it. Brilliants should always be more impressive than greats and best, excellent, etc. Should always be less impressive than greats but that's not the case and that's the issue

It can be damaging to ones ability because it paints a false pictures of what brilliant chess is. The truth is that out of the good moves in chess sacrifices at times are brilliant, at times aren't at times non-sacrificial moves are brilliant, at times they're not. Simply categorizing exclusively sacrifices that work as brilliant and nothing else creates this false idea that sacrificial chess is the only thing that goes into playing chess on a brilliant level which is far from true. Any super GM even someone like Mikhail Tal certainly needed more understanding of chess than just mastering sacrificial ideas in chess to become a brilliant player but people who believe chess.com's algorithm are being taught otherwise.
