you don't have to be 2700 gm to play, the reason people don't reccommend it, is because there are so many lines and some lines stretch to 30 moves long, and in certain positions there is a 30% win rate according to lichess database, so yeah if your gonna learn the opening mind as well learn the whole extent (btw you edited your msg, this is a response to your orgiginal message)
