I still don't believe you understand what opening prep is. If it's depth 50 and equal that doesn't mean I will need to follow 50 engine moves to equalise my position, it means that there is an equilibrium in terms of piece activity/ central control etc if you make a certain move

you get ur unit circle find 40° draw a line out to the end of the circle. Then you draw a line down/up depending on where you are, to the x line. Then where you line ends up and you can estimate where about it is at

And for sin(40) you do the same but with the Y line

u cant even really estimate to accurately either, for example lets say u were trying to find sin(37 degrees) you cant really just take the average between 45 degrees and 30 degrees because its a curved circle and not a straight line, if it were than simple sin(45 degrees) would be 1/2 since it is the supposed "average" between (0,1) and (1, 0)
