i think its the pawn structure of e6 c6 with a open d file makes it viable
in some lines you can castle queenside pretty quickly too

if were talking about 1 xx g6 its either kid if white plays the right moves, modern if black/white play the wrong moves, or pirc if both sides play the right moves
