aha so in my opinon i think i know my openings really really really well, i play 100% (not a good metric but eh) opening on chess.com review most games i dont make any mistakes or hardly do in openings cuz i think i learned how to learn openings, the biggest thing for me is to understand what i actually what to do as white or black with g6 usually i want to push queen side pawns ruin whites structure

with d4c4 i usually wanna castle early, fiancetto my bishop, develop way faster than the other guy explode center and come out with a past pawn

what i said before. the problem with bg5 thematically is that you lose the c pawan after b5 and haave to fight for it, you can't recapture with a bishop if you wanted to on c3, and nothing chanages about black's king safety. he had a knight on f6, then he has a knight on f6 (and the bishop pair if he so desired)

if you want to prevent e5 (which wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, why not play e4 yourself and try to get e5
