okay so basically i did something and it shot my elo up like 170 and counting; i realized that i have an issue with missing obvious things right checks captures threats. so i opened notepad like in this pic #💬〡improvement-talk message and wrote down a checklist of things i should check basically anytime theres an important move and it worked i started playing better. i wanna see if the checklist next to you will actually improve your game or not.

tldr the idea is that you can do infinite puzzles a day but it wont help you if you forget to actually look for patterns in a real game.

okay so i was actually talking with a 2400 blitz friend about this. to me this is an insanely hard concept because sure i know what plans are, how do i know what to choose in what position? how do i evaluate? that all depends on things far above my own level right now i actually have a game as an example for this that i played not more than a few hours ago
