Okay so in the most recent match of mine, the original tactic i was having was that my opponent would take my bd4 trade so that a check mate can be eventually forced through the queen, but instead they decided to dodge it and the pawn on f4 that was the following move from my end was actually a multi purpose tempo hitting move, my first initial thought was that the bishop was eventually getting kicked, plus my queen along with rook and bishop in the given position were or could soon target the black king, and also it opened the f line file for my pieces, it also kinda delves into something like a f5 later

just play very boring, stick to the basic principles of chess: castle early, develop your pieces, dont move the same piece 2 times early on, and never put your pieces on loose squares where they are undefended/vulnerable. these basic principles will get you to 1500 minimum
