well first you need some steps leading up to being a gm.. first you need 500 elo then 1000 then 1500 then 2000, then you need to get a fide rating, then you need to play fide tournaments till you are 2200 fide so you get cm.. and i havent mentioned the thousands of hours you need JUST for the cm title

Pinning the knight creates a threat to capture the e4 pawn if white does nothing about it, so id say its a decent idea to make white think.
But you gotta also think about what your opponent will do, like white can just play d3 and theres no more threat
