Yes, definitely. Classical and the preparation for it raises your skill level, which is a big component for blitz.

Blitz also requires more on top of that chess skill level, namely:

• Fast pattern matching
• Low time time management
• Online, blitz-specific tricks like premoving & hovering

But raising the core skill level definitely helps your blitz too.
