Apparently there is a chessable course in english on the book I was talking about. In its original language there are a total of 9 books (3 each for 1500, 1800 and 2100 fide elo) plus an additional practice book for each elo. On chessable there is at least like the first like 2 parts of the 1500

Actually for ambitious chess improvers focusing too much on openings is one of the most common major mistakes 🙂

When I was an e4 player yes. I used to play some advanced variations with Bd3 gambits, they were trendy as well and were recommended by many chessable courses but I never liked those

But against 3...Nf6 I only looked at 4.Bg5 and not the Steinitz with 4.e5

You're wrong, as a KID player you have to be able to play both a lot depending on white's openings. It isn't that there are 2 types of KID players but rather 2 types of common structures in the KID

Like against the immediate d5 by white without Nf3, you get basically the a5-Na6 structures exclusively

First of all, your question isn't precise because you after 2...g6 black can still decide between the Grünfeld and the KID.

If you specifically ask for the KID, you can play literally anything. You can choose the exact level of how positional or aggressive you like it.
