knowing that in an iqp position, blockading it as the side who faces it is the most important thing, and as the side with the iqp, pushing it being the most important thing, and which endgame favors who, thats useful stuff

and those structures might result from the openings u havent learned anything about, and u might be getting frusturated losing to an isolated queens pawn being advanced every single time

its not too deep stuff, just general rules like this so u have an idea what to do, its very useful. takes an hour max for the opening you play to learn it

if you play the symmetrical as black, its going to be the same general strategy/drawish game as if you were white, but playing a reversed sicilian can be much more dynamic for both sides.
