Ok. Well, I think it's never bad to learn to understand the themes of a new opening. Worst case, you try it, learn the lines, decide you don't ultimately enjoy the positions/play and move on, but with a little extra knowledge. Best case, you find it's sharp and you love it and it becomes a new weapon in your arsenal.

I think a lot of people in your rating range who respond e4/e5 will probably know to pay d5, easily equalizing. But those who don't will give you a little advantage into the middlegame, I think.
