Hello everyone, amateur woodworker here. I work on frames on my free time that I provide to my friend where he installs paintings. Although most of my frames don't end up warping/bending, still a good portion of them end up being warped after a while that does deserve attention. I buy my wood from Home Depot, 2x4x8 SPF, and I'm curious if you guys would recommend anything different? Thanks!
#Recommended Wood For Painting Frames?

Yes. Home Depot SPF is usually sold Very Wet, so over time it can definitely warp.
Either buy wood from a lumber yard that is well dried or be prepared to wait a long time for that SPF to be stable, maybe even a year per inch of thickness.
What species it is matters much less than how well dried and equilibrated to its surroundings it is.
poplar. depending on where you live it's cheap and it takes paint well
Awesome, I'll consider that next time I buy.
