Playing with chevron layouts/ideas and not sure what the proper way you glue them up. Piecemeal with 90’ jigs? All at once?

Building some photography surfaces and backgrounds.

Those look around 3/4" thick. Is that about right?

I'm concerned that at 3/4 you're going to have a lot of wood movement issues, which would be a shame after doing what is certainly a bit of a tricky glue up.

when people do large complex wall panels—seems like you’d have the same problem? Or is it all just nailed down?

I'm only guessing, but probably tongue and groove?

Ah. I hadn’t even considered an actual join.

It is, after all, essentially a floor on a wall.

Solid wood is fine, there is usually a discreet way to hide small gaps between each piece so that the movement isn't accumulated across all the pieces

/nods thoughtfully

that is a good idea though to just pick up some lvp or something engineered in the future and do something with that. I'll have to remember that.

if you reduct the thickness of solid to ~3mm you can also basically ignore the movement because the material no longer has the ability to push

#

you've got options, and shit

3mm ia heck of a lot thinner.
