So I had a mishap on my bandsaw the other day and it bent my blade a bit. Questions:
1.) Can I bend the blade back
1.a) If I bend the blade back, is it still safe to use?
2.) If the blade is shot, how to properly dispose of blade?
3.) If I need to purchase what's a good quality brand.

That's a bad kink, you might be able to hammer it out, but the blade will never cut well again.

#

well, it won't cut "cleanly"\

#

You can dispose of blades in the recycling, it's just spring steel.

and for purchasing, I used to recommend starrett's bimetal, but good luck getting through their website anymore.

I like timberwolf for silicon steel, and any 1/2" bi-metal blade is going to be a good all-around blade. But I truly think that if you can run / tension a 3/4" Laguna resaw king, it will pay for itself over time if you are going lots of straight cuts.

I do plan to pickup two blades. A general purpose one, and a decent resaw. I don't do much resaw, but hoping to make a couple bookmatched jewelry boxes.

If you can't run the resaw king, then get a blade as wide as your bandsaw wheel with as few teeth as possible, just for resaws.

#

the goal for resaws... well all sawing really, is you only want 3 teeth in the cut at any time, if possible.

#

obviously not possible for most resaws - but 3 or less TPI is ideal for those.

but even 3 TPI will start to clog around 9" or so
