#types of trees to avoid for building

90% of new homes are stick built and I'd take the "over" that 98% of those are pine
stable and cheap, if you can do cheaper than pine then you certainly could
Also, please change your profile in the server so you do not appear to be an idiot
😂 gotcha
The part after the name, good neighbor
im actually really interested in older architecture and was thinking about looking into "barrowing" a sears catalogue build so i probably couldnt even buy lumber unless i went to a local saw mill
I'll be happy to help further when I don't think you might be modeling your own ballsack
this bit
🤦♂️ my lord im fumbling, you gotta be direct with me lmao
all good, I think I've been as direct as I know how now 🙂
🤣 alright i fixed it
if only
but yes im looking into cutting my own lumber
🤷♂️ thats what im wondering because the last thing i want is finishing a wall with rough cut timber siding and having it swell and messing everything up
this is not my image clearly
softwoods are common for a reason
im sure finishing it would help but ive never done anything this big
to avoid these?
hardwoods are going to weigh a shit load more, though
no, those are all fine and commonly sought
ive seen alot of videos especially coming out of california (idk why there) of pine siding swelling and shifting, could that just be the humidity in the wood?
that would be my best guess
