#rmHacks with floating-toolbar
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Newer version did implement it
But I don't remember if the main repo was updated to it, and/or reManager was updated to work with it
The repo was updated, but the vellum pacakge wasn't because it's unclear how to version it
currently through reManager i can only install one or the other
I'm suggesting 0.0.11_pre4_git4 but that doesn't look nice
Hmmmm
Would it be a major version?
But considering it added in a feature previously sort-of in rmhacks 3.11, hmmm
so the one that ships in an (unreleased via vellum) update isn't exactly the same at fouz's
Of course, it's more limited
But I believe they are aware since they did mention the workaround for 3.22
it was just a commit to 0.0.11_pre4, idk why the rmhacks versioning is the way it is
We can't add more numbers at the start without diverging from upstream which is an issue
Which was the original repo fork I made
I need to see if my metadata parser can handle that
so just installing the that version manually would be enough? i don't really mind if it is more limited tbh
Floating toolbar is more limited as in
Only one preset and nothing for layers
But my separate one also has an added feature in more recent versions with per pen(tool)/color/thickness that hasn't been ported over yet
yeah i saw those features on github and they look wonderful, but for the time being i am also fine with just having one preset with some pens
Then yeah, just need to manually copy over the folder
I'm looking into what getting this in vellum /reManager looks like. rmhacks isn't very popular so I've been putting it off 👅
really?
(I was surprised, it's like the 69th most popular package)
honestly i can't do anything anymore without split screen and bookmarks
Yea we're surprised too
less than 100 downloads (in vellum, no idea how many people are installing it directly)
maybe it's not advertised as much? when it was basically the only mod available everyone was talking about it, but maybe now since not many people talk about it new users don't know?
just speculation, i don't actually know
or maybe it is the fact that it is quite big and takes a long time to update and is often stuck on older versions?
that'd be my guess.
that's fair
it also conflicts with floating-toolbar (the 3rd most popular package) so if people come for floating toolbar, rmhacks won't be on their radar.
have you ever thought about breaking down rmHacks into multiple mods?
like i see that some gestures already have their own hack, but not the main ones
Thought? Yes
But who actually wants to maintain that is another question
