Hi guys! I’ve just received my new RMPP and it has been automatically updated to v3.26 in the setup process.

Ill love to use it for reading so I’ve tried to install koreader. I’ve activated the developer mode and install remanager in my Mac, but the koreader mod needs the appload mod to work. Remanager identifies the appload mod as not compatible yet with v3.26 but the github page from appload list it as compatible since the last version. I don’t know what information is the correct one. Sorry if this is a stupid question hahaha. I’m totally new to all of these

Thanks!!

Hi there!

the github page from appload list it as compatible since the last version
The fix is there but a release with 3.26 support hasn't been made yet
@lapis crescent could you make a new release? 0.4.2 is already in vellum so 3.25 and below support with the bug fix is there

#

or is 0.5.0 for keyboard support too?

Do you think it's better to wait w/ 0.5.0 to when I'll have keyboard support, or should I just release it now?

#

Or maybe something like 0.5.0-pre1

#

W/ 3.26 support only for now, without the keyboard

@desert sapphire you can very easily downgrade to 3.25 via reManager as well

#

Here’s the general lifecycle of software / package updates just for some background info that probably isn’t at all obvious to non-devs:

  • software dev makes / merges the change
  • software dev tests and creates a release when ready
  • package maintainer updates the package definition, tests the package, and proposes the change
  • Vellum package approvers review and approve the change, the package builds and gets published to the package repo (where vellum / reManager can get it)

Thank you so much! I’ll try to downgrade then. I don’t need the miro integration so I’ll try that

#

just make sure to disable the auto-updates via the reManager maintenance tab (the "Changes detected" banner should bug you about it)

#

(after switching partitions or installing an old version)

#

and if you need any help with any of it, let us know!

OMG! Thanks for the support! I’ll do it tomorrow and if I have any issues I’ll tell you

Just tapping in.. I think I'm in the same boat - I'm seeing that appload isn't on par yet

Is anyone aware of an ETA for compatibility? I'd rather not go back to 3.25..

Why do people want 3.26 so bad?

  1. Click utility tab
  2. Click OS Manager
  3. Click 3.25 partition
  4. Confirm
  5. Reboot
  6. Confirm

From memory, I think that’s all

And then do it all again when you realized you left automatic updates and WiFi both on. (Ask me how I know. But still: easy.)
-# (in my partial defense this was before reManager made it such a one-stop shop)

If it's simply a matter of waiting for reManager to populate the update, that doesn't sound like it should take so long

In the future, how can I know in advance that a reMarkable OS update will be safe for the extensions I use? I'm quite new to this..

I just kinda looked into this myself. There's a thing in the Maintenance tab for this.

Appload (0.5.0) is compatible with 3.26 btw, and is packaged in vellum

Yea that's basically what I just tried to say haha
