My RM2 is curently running version 3.14.1.9, i want to install toltec to mod it, i have read a bunch on how to do it, but i want to be absolutly certain not to brick it.
I am quite familiar with linux, but quite new with the remarkable hacking comunity.

I found a guide on the github for codexctl on dowgrading (see image), but i have a few question :
The guide is for downloading from 3.13 i think, is there any diference downgrading from my version.
The guide is for downloading to 3.11, is there any diference downgrading to the latest version that toltec can run on
related : What is the best version i should downgrade to
I am running linux (fedora), are there any diferences of note with windows
I have read about dual booting, how feasible is dual booting, is there any jankiness / extra risk of bricking it

Thanks in advance for any support

I would recommend looking at the issue linked in the readme of codexctl, which you can find by following the links in #1180640725910704138 about downgrading.

#

As for the version to downgrade to, look at toltec's site for the latest OS supported by your device.

#

As for the feasibility of dual booting, just turn off auto update

#

And follow the guide.

#

As for soft bricking, you should look into getting a #rm2-pogo-connector built, as recovery with it is really easy if you ever find yourself locked out of SSH
