#Lead-able Orby that will not despawn
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Theres a set limit to how many orbie can exist in an area I think
So makin em permanent isnt likely
Is it necessary to keep the limit?
Guess
Orbies are suppose to be rare mobs
Also disablin the limit is just never a good idea
Right give me a min to give an example
If theres no limit ppl can get mobbed by a buncha of em which is good for grinders but not for everyone
hmm... what about... with completing some conditions, the orby will die/be replaced with alternative type of orby that will be not connected to the limiter for original ones...
Also, there is always will be someone who will kill the PetOrby of someone's
I dunno if relyin on ppl to grief someone is a good idea
Killin pets is against the rules after all
If pets do get added
Or like
Guard dog types I suppose
Itll prob be either a specific mob that isnt already around
Or with weaker tier ones
Orbies are way too above the paygrade of delvers
Also even if the orbie is replaced with an alternate orbie
Its still there
Just means a new orbie can spawn
Which can spiral into another gettin captured
And then another orbie and yea orbie apocalypse
If someone will place the orby on a main road or something like that, it will be killed fast, so griefing with orbies will be hard.
My ideo was... its not even a pet, but more like wild captured one. And killing it must be out of rules about "killing the pets".
As i mentioned, its better to have something expensive to keep the orbyz with no abuse. (chain/netherite lead recipe?)
So whats the use of it then
Its not a pet but a captured animal that will attack everyone
If you really like
Want to keep a orbie just nametag one and keep it in an arena with ppl around
They dont despawn if someones around
Then again I dunno how the new ones work
or i can just make it unleadable
Flexin with the orby at base as a guard dog, but need to keep it from jumps so the lead cannot be broken or it'l become regular despawnable orby (but in that case, the limiter in action, so idk).
"the new ones", i guess... is just modified regular orby to avoid the limit counter* and despawning as long as its on the lead
causes more problems then benefits
also the whole 'taking mob cap'
which will promote griefing
i cannot imagine how to grief with them effectively, they are only on l4, can be killed easily by strong player or avoided
any efforts to box them in and keep them contained will lead to players breaking in to kill it
its oke
i will say tho having orby be less agressive is a
technically
hmm, let me guess... Baby orby?
nope
is it in development?
I don't think orby can be friendly
nope
sadh
but a relic that makes mobs less likely to attack or agro you
people wanted things so they arn't bothered while building which TEchNICALLY can mean friendly orby
Does neutrality count as friendly
ye
nah orbies are aggressive in nature
more of a QOL for builders
to not be bothered
neh, friendly orby is boring. The suggestion was about a way to make it won't despawn with a possibility to keep it
Yea but the suggestion isnt really the best
sadly will cause more problems then benefits
Theres 0 benefits to it
this is just your own benefit Allurus

not for everyone
And to the benefit of griefers
Seriously a small group decides to get an army of orbies and just keeps bringin em to a town
the better suggestion
would be for me to make them unleadable
which is a very easy fix
we need the voting for players!
Allurus you cant make alts to vote for you
its not something worth putting to vote
Also this isnt a democracy its a theocracy
there is 0 benefits
voting on something doesn't mean it is forced to happen, devs decide
The opportunity to keep it as a dog - yep
anything that causes more issues for the staff team won't be added
orby by lore isn't a tameable creature
orby can break through steel no 'lead' can contain him
They can break through steel but can they break through netherite
they can break through reg
i'll let you argue if reg is stronger or weaker than netherite
But how does regs dura compare to netherite
does that mean faputas claws are made of netherite
Good question
🤔
How does faputa compare to netherite
Nobody said it to be tamed, just leashed or something like that, for not being despawned
but why
there is no purpose
The purpose is to have a mob trophy basically
But like everyone so far has kinda said no to it
