  • On left clicked, after breaking a crop, it instantly replants. We have too many people either not following the tutorial, or intentionally trying to just grief.

  • After someone chops the first block at the bottom of the tree you planted (or first four for large trees) it immediately replants there.

The only one who should be able to farm a place out that they planted is the original person who planted these things. This will end griefing of forests we plant, and farms we build.

This is actually realistic because in real life if you don't remove all traces of old plant life from your soil, it'll regrow (or attempt to regrow) even without your care. This goes for trees too.

Maybe, as a bonus, we can be able to see who planted the tree initially so we can try to contact the owner of the tree to ask if it can be removed so someone can build a house there.

Another reason this is a good idea is for property protection. People have a lower likelihood of griefing your property/lawn/house with some god awful cobble cube house if you have trees that can't be fully removed and farms that can't be removed except by you.

I think the only hard thing to implement is a way to see who the original planter was.

So in conclusion, it removes three kinds of griefing, which causes less player distress, and mods not having to intervene so much with these issues.

while i like the idea, this also would add a new for of griefing, planting a shitload of trees around peoples areas that they cant remove

#

maybe instead of having only the owner be able to remove it, have autoreplant be a command that is turned on by default but can be turned off like we have /hiddenore toggle, that would solve the issue of people not reading the tutorial

original person
tracking who is owner of what is complicated, as those blocks are not entities and doesn't have arbitrary data.
It may be possible to make something like etable locking but I assume it put a lot of load on the server, there is thousand times more trees and crops than bookshelf. Also trees can mutate in different way (grow naturally, grow by bonmeal), so ownership must propagate to changed blocks and this is even more complicated to implement.

I believe it's better to focus on providing info on players. Most of new players not necessarily "evil", they just don't know about features. Only very basics of basics described at spawn. Ppl just don't know crops can be right-clicked or sicles are thing. Don't know that leaveswont decay before they finish chopping tree. And so on.

# pastel pike ooooh even better!

the idea f auto replant being togglable would be amazing and if it's on by default most people wouldn't wanna turn it off anyway. and it solves the issue of the idea of someone griefing the crap out of someone by planting a bunch of unwanted things everywhere

manually tracking every single crop ever on the server isnt feasable
whilst annoying this suggestion just isnt easy to implement in any decent enough way to make it worth it sorry
if someone griefs ur farm, open a ticket and itll be handled

if someone else finds a way to implement it and shares the code would it be a potential thing? (not for tracking people)

its not about that
it is possible

#

its just not possible in any way where it is worth it

  1. dont build in the center of the map
  2. report when it happens

best ways to prevent it
