i play chunk
thanks for making my chunk popular nik
why does the transpose effect sound wobbly on high notes
is it only on kemper which i use
all transposers on modelers kinda do that on a certain degree. the lower u tranpose the more wobble or artifacts it has
i had kemper it was okay for rhythm like power chords but any soloing and high notes it was wobbly. i currently use a fractal fm9 it still does it but minimal
yeah its good with rhythm but for soloing it has an artificial wobbleness
nice work, EQ yea as Nisse said the mids and highs, but I'm guessing that an octaver is in the play as well, if not at least octave harmonies/tracks layered over it or some other kind of working harmonies to give it that weird cool sound
holy shit
im p sure
you are the only person on this planet earth
to surpass
yo onityan
😭
holy fucking macaroni man
thats INSANE
spent a lot of time on this solo ngl
practicing only sweeps prob helped a lot lol
tysm🙏
the real test will come when i'll have to play it live
oh yea
standing up + performing is a whole other deal
but
youll get it bro
youre insane
its a rough draft cause my hand kept cramping
the effects vs the tone
Ayo guys which 8-string would you recommend for ATB -style player? I'm a devoted Ibanez fanboy, but wanna hear thoughts on different models and options that work with low tunings and shi. Thanks in advance 🤘🏻

Whats your budget
Thats the big thing is the budget
If you have a budget of over like 3 grand or close to I recommend building a kiesel guitar tbh because then you can spec it how you want
mfs rlly out here buying 3000 DOLLAR guitars?
yes, im not one of them tho
Most i’ve spent on a guitar is a grand but thats with tax and all at
yes
my ESP was 3.2k down from 4.3k
seems hard
pretty straight forward
bro thinks we notice the mistakes, shits CLEANNNN 😭 holy fuck
second hand gear is op
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DI8L-cBusUk/?igsh=cTNtc2hvbTgxNGl6 I need that Bass in my life
Picking this up tomorrow hopefully 🙏, 1/3 Peavey $100
isnt that what QOTSA used?
They might've for some stuff but ik Nick used the Decades (which I have two of)
Bandit acquired!
nice
been obessed with this song lately
did it make you play better
What’s the additional perks and features of a 3k guitar compared to a 1k guitar
unironically yes
typically:
nicer pickups
nicer hardware
MUCH nicer build quality
nicer finish
also they tend to come in proper flight-cases where 1k guitars might not even come with a gig bag depending on the brand
a lot of 1k guitars are still made in china with OEM parts and as a result they suffer, Jackson are notorious atm for offering £1200 guitars that aren't even Indonesian at the minimum
they also hold resale value better but ymmv based on several factors
like if i sold my E-II i'd get what i paid if not a bit more for it back, whereas if i sold my TOD10 i probably wouldnt even make 75% of what i paid for it
i wouldnt say an expensive guitar necessarily makes you play better, but they more often than not feel a lot nicer in the hands which can make them easier to play
the E-II neck shape is a perfect fit for my hands for 6 and 7 strings which is why im sticking with ESP nowadays, whereas a few years back i was an ibby diehard
jurys out on 8s though, I have an ormsby and it feels nice but i've never tried a skerv or mayones or aristides 8
Yeah I really only know esp, artistided and ormsby when it comes to above 2k price tag
Ive never tried them out. So when it comes to guitars I’ve tried / play / own. I feel like Ernie ball is the best I’ve ever touched lol
ernie ball are good but they're def above my price lol
if im paying over around 3kish i'd much rather just wait and save for a custom model
buying all 3?
old ass jackson japan made series are indestructable and very cheap
i own a floyd rose one and it never goes out of tune no matter what you do unlike new series
yeah older jacksons are solid but their new ones are so rough
I'd only buy an American jackson now but at those prices I'd rather just buy a second hand esp lmfao
i love second hand guitars
you can get a good product for alot cheaper
but you have to check it yourself and buy face to face to check if everything is alright
nice deal for 100 dollars
are those decorative spikes in the left
Yep, on both sides 🤣
damn weird approach
Anyone know how many turns for the trusrod for drop b tuning if my first 4 frets are giving fret buzz. And how many turns?
It’s all preference
But if you’re still getting buzz check your action
It could also be that you have a fret that’s higher than the others
Anyone else like this shape in this color?

that thing would be insane to play caveman hardcore riffs with
Ong, swap out the pickups for some high gain ones and get some thicc ass strings on there and it’d chug like no tomorrow im sure of it
not enough tech for me but for some slam/hardcore
👀👀👀
Only thing stopping me from getting one is the 34 hundred dollar price tag
They’ve got cheaper ones but honestly its just not the same
Time for some fire in here - never in the history of ever have these blocky guitars looked good or cool in any way, no matter if it´s a flying V, this star/thunder type shape or this. Tastes differ and that´s alright, but holy shit are these ugly to me.
This particular example aint the worst offender, granted but like....why
love the teal color tho, that´s pretty dope
do NOT show bro the eddie van halen guitars
I am scared
no
imo the shape is among the most ugliest with the firebird
Guys is it true that the VII mode in the Mesa Mark VII sounds just like a Rectifier and nothing like, new-sounding at all?
I hope not.
Okay fine I'll spill the beans if you want to know about it, there's a lawsuit going on between myself and my old school and if I win it I have a good shot at getting enough money for a Mark VII.
Yea, I'm suing my old college.
You do not want to know the details. It's actually really horrid what they were doing and I depleted all other options.
Go me the mark v or jp2c sound better than the vii. Mark iv pretty good too just i prefer the other 2 mesas.. your best bet would be trying the vii out
The only channel I would ever use on a Mark V is the Extreme channel.
I wouldn't use a IIC+ or equivalent.
I mean, technically the Extreme channel is IIC+ preamp into a modern poweramp without the feedback component but it's a much tighter modern sound that other Mark series amps just don't have.
I like iic+ which is why I favor jp2c alot
IIC+ didn't suit me very well. Way too grainy for my liking.
The V Extreme fared much better. The only caveat is that it takes forever to dial properly but once you get there it's all the relief in the world.
Didn't like the IV very much either. Sometimes the IV mode can provide decent tones, but it's far more finicky than the Extreme channel.
I just didn't like the feedback component they added just for the classic modes. All the more why if I ever obtain a Mark VII I'd use it solely for the VII mode just because it doesn't have the feedback component. Might be a different story with live but.
Hmm then I'm not sure. I usually find the jp2c/iic+ pretty smooth I do boost 240 fader higher than the 2200 and I use a dark cab mix which may reduce the graininess
I do have a boost pedal so I should be set as far as getting a high gain tone with the VII goes.
Tho my main rig is digital so everything is in there now. Use to use jp2c alone with a petrucci v30 mix and sm57. But now I run a dual Amp rig with the jp2c and Friedman hbe
The IRs I typically use are much closer to the balanced category, simply because I'm not a fan of dark sounding tones.
Actually I'm trying to get myself out of the digital market and go straight to real amps.
Really sick of having to rely on software that crashes an awful lot.
I use dark irs/cabs because mesa can be a pretty bright amp so it tames it or smoothens it out but retains the punch I like
DSP can do so many things really well, but distortion isn't one of them.
Really my fractal has been doing pretty good. I have an upcoming gig but I been using it just fine live
The Extreme channel still sounded very bright, but it had a much more focused sound and had enough gain on tap to not have to worry about the grain.
Even on the Extreme channel with balanced IRs I would still dial the treble pretty high.
The IIC+ was just more scuffy and didn't maintain its chunk. The Extreme channel didn't have this problem and had a punchier tighter sound while still maintaining enough gain to cut through and still sounded amazing even with all that treble dialled in.
I'm actually selling my Fractal, but again, mostly because I want to switch to analogue.
I mean, I would still use an IR loader but as far as distortion and actual amp portion of it goes I would still rather switch to something that doesn't use DSP. Even a Loudpedal would've done it.
And I don't even use any reverbs/delays, I keep my tone pretty bare bones.
A good sounding amp, a good sounding IR, and that's it as far as my ideal setup is concerned.
U tried a friedman hbe I find those really have a nice punch and aggressiveness. Which is why I mix both the Mesa and it
I have a big chain takes like 70% cpu. Kinda covers everything
...
Welp, going to have to sleep on all this until I find out how much I'm getting out of that lawsuit.
Good luck 🙏on it sorry I couldn't be much help for the amps
Anyone know what guitar this is?
This one looks about right
Thank you very much
What's the song it's in?
Kublai Khan Boomslang
Lol, I was playing that song earlier today! What a coincidence.
Lol
Noice
im looking to get a new guitar mainly for modern metal 6 string around 1400euros any recommendations?
Anything jackson, they make fuckin amazing guitars and I love mine to bits
I’ve played shecters, ibanez’s, gibsons, dean’s basically all of it but Jackson has always been my go too
https://www.jacksonguitars.com/products/pro-plus-series-dinky-dkaq?variant=49924998070586 just look at that
It’s a diff riff to what I usually write but it suits a bridge or a song imo. Idk tho lol
It was played first time so Ik still tidying up to do

best free DAW?
Reaper
Not necessarily free
I might be able to help later tn
After I get off of work
I was just trying to figure out the opening to sweating bullets
Oh that’s easy lol
its completely free lol
It is but you should support them by buying a license
should≠must
👀👀👀
Uhhh
You should but you don’t have too
That’s why I said it free but not necessarily
Don’t twist my words
Well I suck on guitar I only got the first part the rest is difficult
I can help you with the rest of it when I get home from work
The intro is ez
Alright
i can help now gng
My two main axes
LtD EC-500 with EMG 81-60
Harley Benton SC Custom with FR, customized with Zakk Wylde EMGs
Its winrar free
Ooooohh a floyd, most would say thats heresy on on a single cut but I love it
Same here. I love bizzare pieces
I have no idea
Yk…a guitar sounds best next to an open window…..
I have 9 lol
Funny enough, each a different brand
Harley Benton
LtD
Jackson
Fender Squier
Epiphone
Jay Turser
PRS SE
I'll ask, do you guys give your guitars nicknames?
Or am I the only one here
These are all mine
is that an omen elite 7_
?
how are you liking it
im planning on getting the same guitar just in red
ive had it for 2 years its pretty good
Its tuner are kinda iffy the neck feels nice it pretty thin
kinds like a Thin D
ohh thats nice
tuners are the simplest upgrade to do besides the nut ig
so thats great
i like the sound of the pickups as well
so it seems like a great 7 string for the price
scale length is decent as well tbh
yeah but a good set of locking tuners is like $100+ dollars
quite insane how these things cost so much ngl
like aint those made by machines lol
ofc they are
capitalism off of the brand ig 🥱
should be fine still tho
because im not a fan of the ibanez dimarzio pickups at all
which would be a more expensive upgrade
Do you use the Archetype Gojira at all?
i use it like 99% of the time lmao
oh yea
dont really use them tho
or artist presets in general
the sound is kinda like
too out in the high and mid ends for my taste
unless you EQ it
+i like to use the middle cabv
cab
with the high gain amp
gives it a nice balance for chugs and whatnot
I can dm you some
Anyone got experience with the boss katana gen 3 head? Thinking of getting a head and cab
You got any recommendations in the same price range that would be appreciated 👍
I think Taylor Danley has a video on it that or the mk2
thanks ill check it out
I think it depends on the brand. Ibanez don't really get the love and attention like ESP/LTD, Gibson, Fender, or PRS do unless they're like legacy artist guitars like Steve Vai, Joe Satriani or one of the Korn members or something.
Not true. It's a little bit more scooped than the JP2C but that's about. The Mark VII is just fuckin RAW dude. I've played one before but it's more like....a more aggressive Mark IV. I personally prefer it over the Mark V in Mark V mode.
The JP2C and Mark V are just different sounds. The JP2C is a smoother more aggressive Mark IIC+ and the Mark V is just a very odd sound. Cuz it cuts a lot of the sparkly highs in Mark V mode in favor of pushing other frequencies. It's not bad just different.
I use Neural Mark IIC+ as well as played the JP2C and the Mark V in IIC+ mode. Quite honestly I like the grainyness a little but cuz it adds some extra hair that makes it pop more.
The IV channel on the V was HUGE and not too finicky. But I think because the IV has so much more low end it makes it difficult to tame.
You never used the Extreme mode?
I did, and if I remember correctly, it's only on Mark V mode. It's alright. I'd rather crank the gain on the other modes.
I personally found the Extreme mode far more rounded and pleasantly bright rather than grainy.
But at the same time I do use a boost pedal so.
What did you think of the VII mode?
The VII doesn't emulate previous Marks. It's is objectively its own thing.
Tone test for Kill Em All by Metallica.
Song are Seek and Destroy and Whiplash
Mesa Mark VII on Mark VII mode and boosted with a ProCo Rat.
Guitar: Gibson 70s Explorer
Using the build in cab clone IR: Mesa Recto 4x12 Standard
Notes: just kind of a quick video, no multitracking or anything. Just messing around and found this tone had a kill...
I been hearing demos like this and it sounds right up my alley
how do yall go about writing riffs? im so lost and idk where to start
I don't know how to make crazy awesome riffs, but I normally start by playing some random power chords and just adding from there 🤷♂️
^
Pretty much
Even if its super basic (which is what I tend to make anyways), its a start. Go from there, practice over time.
I listen to riffs I like and then warp and bend them into something original
My band had our first ever live show a few nights ago, it went great!
Awesome
i think rythm is more important, its usually what i start with instead of chords/notes
Kinda banger?
when'd you get that ibby?
I’ve had it for almost 2 years now
my first decent guitar
oh lol
ew
I really need to know your practice routine dude. Insane 🔥
currently non existant lol
i have like no time to seriously practice these days
I’m trying to put a 74 gauge string into my Schecter apocalypse 7 and it won’t fit through the tuning peg. Is drilling out the peg a bad idea?
Nvm I’m gonna unwind it a bit
I have a shecter sunset extreme (so i assume they’ll have similar tuning pegs) and the largest I can put through them without modifying the pegs or the string is a 64 gauge.
Yeah that’s what I just had in. I just unwound it a little bit so it can fit through. Only problem now is that it doesn’t sit in the nut all the way but it should be good enough.
Okay this seems to be the only somewhat appropriate place to discuss this, whats yalls mount rushmore of guitarists
thinking about learning guitar, been playing bass for like 3 years (six string) and drums for like 8. I just saw dean lamb's video and i think i might save my pennies and buy one of those when he releases them. Do you think starting on an 8 string would be ok or should i start on a six string
Do you listen to bands who play 8 strings? Or play 6 strings?
Cuz if you listen to bands who play 8’s get an 8 and learn their shit, if you listen to those who play 6’s get a six and play their shit
only 8s lol, mirar, archspire, animals as leaders, stuff like taht
any online programs yall would reccomend to learn fast
Youtube and songster
I'd also recommend irl lessons with a tutor if you're able to. I find at least for the first year or two having lessons speeds up your progress much more than self learning online.
Learning fast doesnt exist, it depends on how dedicated you are to learning your instrument
Take your time practice techniques and go from there
Perks of being a music therapy intern is my supervisor has a couple electrics for me to practice on since I’m finally buying one after I finish
8 String tech death for the music therapy
lol I mean I’ve got a vet learning BMTH on the drumset, and did some stuff with false chord screaming pretty recently so it’s a possibility 😂
Working on nu-metal with a vet too. Haven’t had too many death metal patients just yet but I do love educating my 60 yr old supervisor on metal cause the younger vets are metal heads
I feel really stupid, I stripped an RG470PB about a year ago and sent it off to get custom painted and now that I have the painted body back I have no fucking clue where this one ground wire goes? I put it in a bag labeled "Pickup parts" but there is no way this wire screws into a pickup right!?! I looked at the body and it doesn't seem like there is a screw hole for this black wire with the eyelet? Im at a total loss as to where the fuck this is supposed to go...Are there any hero's out there that really know guitars to shed some light on my incompetence?
ik but i dont think its feasable wiht bass and drumm lessons too
thats the way i took👀
Hell yeah start on a 8 string
Metronome, yt tutorials, Songsterr
thats how i taught myself bass but i wanted to refine techniue and learn theory
Anyone know who TBDM’s first guitarist was and what guitars they used?
I’m on that Deathcore / melo death arc rn and I love the tones
hey guita rplayer here
anyone has a cool sick dark metal backing track, I am really trying to practice my solos
This is just a demo of what im working on 9if anyone has some tips/criticism im all for it
did you record trough a interface?
Kinda....
i mean the recording is pretty clean
but the best option is to get a proper interface
Finally
this cant be worse than my irig hd2 💀
That's some 5€ t(h)rash
i mean im happy with how my guitars sound, i dont have a problem with irig hd2 for now
thats a very nice rickenbacker
It was OK 😅, not worth it at all
I was happy I got to try it. One less bass I want 😭
Ok, I want this

SPW show #2. I had an insane rig. Brought all four of my basses in four separate tunings, my pedal chain was Peterson Strobostomp Mini-> 1986 MIJ BOSS HM-2-> 2000 BOSS ODB-3-> Behringer EQ700-> Behringer BDI21-> 1980s Sunn SA10 300 watt power amp-> Seismic 2x15. I had every pedal on the whole time, I was originally going to switch between the ODB-3 and HM-2 but accidentally had everything on at once and it sounded so gnarly I had to keep it
Hey
so my 21st birthday is in a few months and I wanna like completely revamp my guitar setup. I’ve alrdy decided what guitar I’ll go for but. Suggestions for how to rlly get the best out of it within like a reasonable ish budget?
what guitar pickup brands are worth checking?
looking for a 7 string pickup with crazy low-end sludge
which basically rules out fishman and bkp and lundgren
since they're very tight and sterile typically
which one

legator seems nicer overall
I LOVE THIS
Gang how do I get a thall/mirar/vildhjarta guitar tone 🙏🙏🙏
I just learned to automate pitch shifters in reaper so I can do that part but I need to figure out the fx chain. If yall could recommend free/cheap plugins that would be great
Gonna get archetype: gojira at some point
Dimarzio D Activators (not the Xs)
bet
They're nice and dark sounding. I'm throwing a pair in my Ibanez Destroyer
@hexed igloo or... you might like this https://youtu.be/3Opg804PqrM?si=BDCK1b5G1ygaN5Ys
This is the worlds hottest / Highest output guitar pickup. It's 54k Ohms which is essentially the same as 4 Dimarzio Super Distortions. That's insane!
Lets take a look.
Im a big fan of the DiMarzio dreamcatcher one of my favourites next to the EMG 58X
Vildhjarta uses the Line 6 POD XT, Big Bottom amp and usually a cocked wah model going on it. However, the Line 6 POD X3 is a better choice since it has everything the XTs have without a paywall plus extras (you basically have to pay to get everything out of the POD XTs which sucks balls)
I have several PODs. The X3 is probably the hardest to use but one of the most rewarding, so much tweakability. It's absolutely insane how much stuff it has
There are no plug-ins for those versions of the POD so unfortunately you'd be limited to having it physically 😭, you could probably achieve similar stuff with plug-ins
Sad but thank!!!
ibanez rgd61 just came 😍
honestly if i wasnt sold on the m-1000ht played by goonzi for my future guitar upgrade purchase id probs go with that
or the black ibanez evertune with gold hardware
hell yeah!
this is my first ibanez ever
great minds think alike

same they really are the goats
foreal
i cant name
a single band
that even sounds close to them
riffs and overall sound wise
incredibly unique, groovy and technical
simply amazing
YOO
you gotta
send me pics man
when you do
i will absolutely
and lmk how you like it
im between the m-1000ht and the mh-1000 floyd rose
but the mh is an ugly blue and has a bit different neck (with a gloss finish 🤢), then ill probs go with the m-1000ht
cant really do that with a floyd
i guess you can kinda slightly pull the whammy bar upwards but thatd seem a bit annoying
what tuning you planning on setting it up in?
LOL
LMFAO
its set up in drop b rn
😭
guessing you gotta order new ones?
ya
also use 12-60 myself thanks to goonzi LMFAO
but
the cheaper daddario
dont have the 20 bucks to spare on strings everytime
😭
they are pricey
I got the LTD EC-1000 with Duncans
such a beauty
but my funds are probs going to go into a 7 string rn, the Legator Ninja 7 supershredder to be exact
for like 800 bucks
definitely
one of the best strings ive used
stay fresh for so long
oh it is
yeah they are awesome
the Cort KX507MS
is also great 7 string so ive heard
for around the same price
but unfortunately after like 1 year nad 5 months of use i realized the single cut les paul style aint for me lol
on my ec 1000
its kinda annoying
yeahhhh
probably
but id be happier with an m series ltd probabl
though my country is so small that noone really is buying guitars like that so its really hard to sell it as well even though its in amazing condition
same bro
and im not gonna sell it on reverb lol
i live in ireland
its kinda hard to find ppl to sell and trade
yea
even more so here
only ones are like
boomers
or punk players ☠️
some black metal mfs as well ig
hahaha yeah
oh yea i tried it, ordered it from thomann
such an amazing guitar
i was blown away
but sadly
fanned frets wasnt really my thing
so i sent it back
quality is INSANE though
guitar felt like a 1000+ EUR guitar
even tho it was only 750
amazing finish, great build with fishman fluences
though mine also came with finish problems so thats also why i sent it back
whats your favourite song dude
yeah im gonna be getting a 7 string maybe in the next 6 months
and im eyeing that one
rn its alive
from era
insane value for price
absolute peakness
im obsessed with that one video where goonzi was playing it on his i believe its an ormsby??
#bleedfromwithin#guitarplaythrough#metalcore#guitarlesson
FOREAL
not a SINGLE bad song
even on uprising
absolutely fire album
goonzi is the don
ngl current personal favs are Shapeshifter, Pathfinder and Known By No Name
but they constantly change lol
foreal
steven also adds that insane doomy vibe to their albums, which goonzi is missing sometimes
steven wrote
Ruina
Dying Sun
Known By No Name
etc
like those darker ones
really nice contrast they give eachother
im eyeing this one
oh that is beautiful
hoping that thomann can do a special order for the magenta burl
elsewise i gotta stick with the black burl
which is also nice
but i already got black guitars lmfoa
foreal
steven and goonzi are the perfect guitar duo
literally the best out there
martin and goonzi where also amazing but steven and him just got magic
honestly
definitly
this ^
martin was amazing but
steven is just a level up io
imo
i love seeing them play next to eachother, like they so robotically play it 1 on 1 its fucking beautiful to watch lmao
martin definitly shaped alot of the melodic side of bfw i feel like
or well gave goonzi the confidence
definitely
wasnt goonzi the bassist
initially
even
it baffles me that he went from being the bassist to this lead guitar genius like that
im not too sure
his lead melodies
are hands down the best
so damn catchy
this one style of lead he uses
in alive, immortal desire and night crossing is my fav
with the 1 note being quickly bent
oh yea
and leads
they got insane talent for writing such memorable leads

Ive overplayed this one so hard lol
And will keep overplaying it
Violent nature, Zenith, God Complex, NBNK, Whole damn thing. So incredible
Ans dont get me started on Edge of Infinity
Shit got me in tears when i first heard it on my first full album listen
same LOL
Like drop singles at least, ik you guys got some stuff cooked up if atleast quarter was already written back in 2023 LMAO
Anyone have amp suggestions? Am looking for a budget one that i can have eiyher on a desk or on a bed
Needs to be a combo too
whats the budget
100 to 300
yamaha THR10
bro is new rings of saturn 😭
@tardy glacier you can ask me stuff about work here as well, or ask me before dm'ing me
whats up
oh my apologies dude
wasn't aware, will do next time 🙏

im not sure if you guys even take orders for such a low price or even if you take Legator guitars, but I wonder if you guys could also order the Legator Ninja N7SS Magenta finish
https://legatorguitars.com/products/n7ss
The new Ninja Super Shred Series is crafted for guitarists who demand speed and precision. These feature ultra-fast neck profiles and sleek, ergonomic designs that minimize hand fatigue and maximize playability. Equipped with our new, high-output "Aftershock" pickups, fixed bridges & locking tuners, the Super Shred
and even if you could, how much more expensive would it be
because thomann is selling the black one for 799
eur
we wont
but making a special order for the magenta would make it nearly 1k lol
too many problems with their guitars for us to confidentially order them
exactly
but regarding this specific model ive only heard good about so im balling it and hoping for the best
☠️
idk who said it but i doubt it
because in the price range it's better than the others
regarding specs
and build
if you want a good 7 string, check FGN
actually really havent heard about them
interesting
though my budget is like
preferably under 800 bucks lol
i can probably get you an RGA742FM and some pickups in that budget
oh thats nice, thank you but I think I'll try the Legator first, it looks rad and the specs seem good, locking tuners, stainless steel frets, etc
and be at the mercy of a factory setup or a guitar with amazing pickups and a store setup that i can guarantee has low action and proper relief
i mean if i dont like the legator, i can always refund it :)
dont be surprised if it comes riddled with problems tho
Looks great
Ill take it into consideration
If i plug iti n bia usb will audio still cone out of the speaker?
Id like to record feedback as well
no idea
Aw man
smash
Finally just got back into using my seven string
I still need to get a seven string ive only been using my prs se custom 24 and a digitech drop lmao
Also the reverse headstock shecteris my favorite
that ltd tho
There’s some good cheep ones
It was cheep like 500
yeah but the music id play on it would require multiscale
tbf I could buy the harley benton
I think there are some cheep mutiscale for cheep or check reverb
https://harleybenton.com/product/multiscale-7-bbb-2020-dlx/ this seems to be decent
Body: Poplar | Top veneer: Burl maple | Bolt-on 5-piece neck: Maple/Nato | Fretboard: roasted jatoba | Fretboard inlays: Offset dots | Matching headstock | Neck profile: Modern C | Scale (multiscale): 686/646 mm | Fretboard radius: 400 mm | Nut width: 48 mm | Nut: Black graphite | Frets: 24 Fanned medium jumbo | Pickups: HBZ Custom Wound ferrite...
I'd have to put some work into it, to get it playing nicely but it seems decent for a mod platform
That’s a great price and with those pickups that thing will be sounding nasty my ltd six string has there own branded fishman pickups in it and it sounds so chunky and brutal
I bought mine for 240
No music "requires" a multiscale. If you haven't played multiscale before, I'd recommend trying one out in store first because they do feel a fair bit different especially around the first 4 frets.
I'd say anything below B standard requires either a multiscale or baritone at least
I've got no clue how to setup a regular 6 string to not sound like wet noodles on low tunings
Still doesn't "require" multiscale.
Just got to choose the right string gauges
Bro has never heard of intonation ig
and I have played multiscale before I just sold it as I didn't like the electronics and couldnt be arsed to change them
i mean
i play a straight scale down to drop g lol
crystal lake play 25.5" in drop f
and actually looking back - i thought they both used evertune e-iis
shinya has an edwards and not even one w/ an evertune
Insane this amp sounds like a 100W when its 25W
that first one was from the owner of the store i work for
second, i have like 3-4 friends that work there
ye
iirc, those are Wes Hauch pickups, correct?
it is a jupiter yes
I will be totally honest, the single humbucker configuration near the bridge goes hard asf
Reminds me of the M80M
the aristides kinda needs the jupiter tbh
Why's that?
their guitars sound very dark, almost extremely dark
no
Rly?
thats just the nature of the material they use
Huh, I see
their guitars are made for everything
Never knew Arium fucked like that lol
it just happened that a lot of people that use them, play metal

Fucked in a good way, I mean
not the biggest fan personally tbh, but i do love how they play
their setups are amazing
weeb
XD
Huh
I love how customizable they are too from the get-go
they are in their configurator for sure
Like, I could get a nylon multiscale with an open core modern in the single config, in Desert Tan
you couldnt
Oh?
youd have to go piezo with steel strings
Ahh, I see
you cant go nylon strings cuz the pickup wouldnt be able to make an electrical current
Well, still proly gonna do that when I have enough money. Cuz I've seen how good nylon electrics can sound through some distortion
id recommend going standard steel with piezo instead of limiting yourself to a nylon
Why's that?
pickups can become a lot tighter while the piezo still gives you the acoustic sound
oooooh, I see I see
and second
nylon string pickups dont sound good through high gain at all from my experience
I see
Would probably need the most near-perfect FX chain to sound good in that regard
and a lot of automation
make your life easier and take the JP approach with piezo and regular passive pickups
Standard config or single humbucker?
thats up to you
i mainly play death metal so i almost always go single pickup or HS
which is why i have an HS ibanez on the way soon
in case my wording seems kinda weird on how i explain shit. I work for Axe Palace in Amsterdam where we deal almost exclusively in high end modern guitars and basically get everything in for tech work
Well, speaking of piezo boys, here's a piezo-loaded nylon 060SR
I just love how clean that is
it feels so uncanny without the pickups
gotcha, gotcha
usually on the saddles at least, im not sure how Aristides does it
I'm very much a guitar noob, so forgive me for asking so many base-level questions and stuff ;-;

its fine lol
thats why im here as well
at work we go into extreme detail on the stuff we carry
And since nylons are smooth, you can't do a "Spiritbox - Soft Spine" string scrape?
you can barely do pickscrapes in general on nylon
shame ;-;
you wont be able to get this kinda sound on a nylon
True lol
Say, you have any personal favorite Aristides model, then?
Since you're close with their products, I thought it'd be logical to ask 😅
Also, where in the:
Agufish,
RussianBadger
and Bricky servers
too???
I've tried a few aristides and I like how they play but their 8 strings are roooouuuugh
way too dark
060sr
I'd love to own one someday but they're definitely lower on my list than ESP or Ormsby
tbh next time I meet Toro I might ask what pups he has in his and if he has info on Ihsahn's at all
cause I LOVE the tones both of those guys get from their aristides
but unfortunately the demo models I've tried aren't very clear on the F#
So, @balmy vortex, this would be better in more general music settings if it was fitted with steel strings instead of nylon ones?
And you'd still be able to somewhat retain that acoustic feel piezos are able to produce?
steel string
with piezo

I can't do ts restringing shit my parkinson is too bad 💔
Best string gauge for a 7 string with 26.5'' scale length set up in drop A and G#?
Eernie ball not even slinky with a .60 on the bottom
My favorite designs are I use these
other picks for this list
killing floor - jimi hendrix
goat - polyphia
bleed - meshuggah
abomination reborn - suffocation
heartbreaker - led zepplin
rap snitch knishes - MF DOOM
psychosocial - slipknot
eruption - van hallen
battery - metallica
tbf this isn't that hard
nor is eruption
battery takes some stamina to get through but I wouldnt necessarily call it that harsh
its just the solo is tough
I like 64-11 (on a 27” 7 string, also because 64 is thickest i can go without modifying the strings or tuning peg holes)
Damn… I would recommend changing those tuners out for locking tuners. You still need to get the string through the hole, but once it’s in, you pull on it and twist the screw behind the peg which will hold it in place so you can snip the excess and tune normally.
I dont know if there’s any other tools that could help with restringing
If you have a guitar shop nearby, you might be able to ask the staff to restring for you without a fee (but no guarantees) and also choose a string known for long lifespans so you don’t need to restring often. (Something like an elixr or daddario xs I find last the longest for me)
Also, I don’t have parkinsons or anything, but I hope something I said will help you out.
tbh the solo isnt as bad either
you just gotta lock in for a bit regarding the alternate picking
thanks!
ohh i see
i do like 10s because well the rest of the guitar is in E standard or half a step down lmfao
planning to use my 7 also as my only properly set up E standard guitar
i see, thanks!
I'll just break more strings to learn how to restring quicker
I’m honestly thinking of changing mine to stringjoy costume
Like these
Opinions on the schecter demon-7?
whats the difference between plugging a processor in return of fx loop and using the main in input ?
(its not the normal input)
5 riffs that aren’t necessarily spooky or sinister, but do convey uneasiness due to their empty, dissonant, atmospheric nature.
bro should have included shine on you crazy daimond
im thinking about learning black hole sun

These seem rad
For some reason, even tho ive never personally tried it, I really dislike it, at least I've never heard it to sound good, no matter who plays it LMAO + Ive seen this particular schecter 7 string get suggested the least, id say the Omen Elite 7 is probably better, it's definitely solid at least. If you got a bit more budget then a lot of people suggest the Sunset Extreme as well, but atp you could buy a Cort KX707 with an evertune, a killer guitar.
Ehh, I think the tops on the omen are ugly I’ve never liked the way any of those style tops looked, also not a fan (I despise) of evertunes so the kort is an immediate no
You can also check out some Ibanez options
Those can be p good
The legator ninja 7 supershred is in same price range as the schecter demon, slightly more expensive tho, im getting it probably in like a few weeks, can let yoy know how worth it it is 💀🙏
Im mostly looking at schecters because I like their strat style shapes in 7’s over Ibanez or Jacksons
Im guessing the Demon 7 might work well for you rhen
Just gotta try it somewhere
As long as you also like the way the pickups sound
@balmy vortex, I'd like to ask you smth.
Remember that piezo Aristides I showed you a while ago? Well, I was wondering: if you could hide at least a single humbucker inside the body (like behind a thin layer of Arium), would that humbucker still be able to pick up the strings being played?
Whilst of course maintaining the lack of a humbucker on the exterior 😅
tbh the best bet is just a hm2 second hand
Aw man
there's the medusa by lichtlaerm which isnt cheap but besides the waza is the best imo
the arion metal master is meant to be good but i'd be wary - i love my arion phaser for many reasons but it is very flimsy
and arion kind of has a mad cult following so it can be a pain to wait for a cheap one to pop up and not get snagged instantly
i paid a lot more than i realistically should have for my SPH-1 but it was the first and only time I've ever seen one in person so I couldn't say no lol
if you weren't after cheap id def go the medusa though
You can't
I modified my cheap ahh bass
Id have to start believing in god a lot harder in order to afford this
Ill go with thexeyemaster lmao
Or maybe a swollen pickle
Or not
sadge ;-;
Would definitely love to see more advancements for piezos in the future then
Maybe someday they'll have the same pickup quality as Fishmans or EMGs
hey there i am looking for suggestions on where to get good 9 string strings? needs to be like 10s to at least 100, thanks!
legator has a bunch
great brand
what do u plan on doing with a 9 string tho
you misunderstand i have a 9 string already, i have the lucas mann signature, what i need is a good brand for the strings
ooooooooooooooooooooooooh
the plan is to make dumby thicc 9 string riffs
ik a lot of people use like custom ones from companies
yeah if ur composing a 9 string is pretty cool
aside from that I think people use bass string sets?
found this
thanks bro!
I got my MIJ and MIT OG HM-2s for about $100 each. My Waza was like $118
DOD's American Metal FX56 tends to be cheap
Like $50 in some places
There's also the Super American Metal FX56B
the digitech death metal is pretty good for that sort of tone
I love the riffing at the start, tapping section sounds a little too familiar though...
forgive me, for I may be on an Aristides enjoyment spree for a while
Anywho here's some Aristidai that I rly like!
An H/06 in Neon Pink Satin (loaded with some Wes Hauch signature SD Jupiters),
and an 060S in a custom Shell Pink Horizon Sparkle (also I really like single humbucker setups, I dunno why lol)
If I had the money to get a custom guitar this is how i’d spec it, instead of kiesel pickups Id get just the dreamcatcher in the bridge and no neck pickup
theres no tapping
its economy picking
the song is rising force by malmsteen
this guitar doesnt look good as a right handed one
if it was flipped it looks good
I prefer “rhodes” this way
i see
I think they’re less attractive the other way
For 4 grand I better hope it is
so if you were to give me anything kiesel i would accept it
Ohhhh, I hear the pick now. Sounded like tapping to me at first.
Very cool
Hmmm, I idk if I like this more
Blacklight guitar
How in the fuck would you even count that!?
And here are some personal edits I made: (cropped images, and the Infinity Ghost specifically had its colors messed around with a bit lol):
viraemia ahh bass lol
Hey, anyone know of any good Marshall amp plug-ins that are either free or cheap?
How do I fix my fishman fluences from clipping
magic or smth idk

Soooo I have an acoustic now
I got a new amp :3 (the top one)
Anyone got good brand recommendations for left handed guitars, like either 6 string bass or 7 string regular
Jackson
thanks
i might try to learn this song https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=MtWJoIUifQI

i cant tell, but is the intro on 12 string?
What are your opinions on this guitar (ftm33)
If it was a 7 or six string it’d be perfect
I am in the middle of planning building my own guitar completely from the ground up shape and all that, should I make it an extreme metal shape or something more mellow because my biggest inspirations are Dimebag Darrel (god rest is soul) and Lee Malia, two VERY different tastes, should I do a modern take on a more classy shape? Maybe modernize an RD?
Its gonna be single dimarzio loaded, floyd rose trem on it 25.5” scale length 6 string and all that, nothing crazy like a 7 string
it may seem impossible
but it's probably playable
I have the OG DOD FX86, the FX86B, plus the Digitech Death Metal, they are not HM-2 clones in the slightest but can get a bit chainsaw-y
For an actual HM-2 tone? I'd get a clone or an OG. The Death Metals are super tweakable in every aspect minus the gain. The gain is maxed all of the time
No ability to turn it down
HM-2s and Death Metals both rule on bass though :3
me when i get hungry and take a bite out of my telecaster
Honestly bc its a custom i would go all out with something more extreme
Idk I dont like mega extreme shapes, most extreme shape I like is the ML
Same
After that i think its too much
My killswitch from Dogbite came!
Is it like a morse code paddle?
It's absolutely insane haha. Works on both sides, so yes.
Super fun to spam. Fastest killswitch ever
Interesting
@trim briar Dogbite demo lmao
dude sent out a morse code 😭 🙏
shits fire
It's fun as hell!
it cosmetically looks like a kids toy
It looks like something from Fisher Price but makes up for that in functionality
Gonna add fret inlays and swap the pickups but it's fucking awesome
Also it arrive 2 days early so it was a nice surprise
could i get a reccomendation for a budget guitar?
ive got a 500 usd budget
the only preference i have is that I dont like the flying V
Depends; what are you looking for? What kind of music are you looking to play?
Also, does anyone know any good free VST amp plugins for guitars?
I like Shecter so a Shecter C6 or C1 would be a good budget choice. S by solar seem good but never played one, Ibanez are always good budget wise but I also don’t have much experience with the brand (and personally don’t like the necks too much on them).
The free amped roots plugin is awesome, sounds very similar to the neural dsp gojira plugin aswell.
Does it simulate a Marshall sound, mainly? That's what I'm trying to go for but no pressure if not.
If you have a scarlett audio interface, they’re currently giving away keys to an stl tones plugin that sounds great but I think that promotion is only for another day or two.
Oh, I already got that. It's a free version that only comes with a handful of the items. Haven't tried it out yet.
Not too sure, i just know it sounds cool. I think its based on a 5150 or something
Would still grab it, I haven’t tried it much but it sounded cool initially
The free version of amplitube 5 i think has a marshall amp or to, but i kinda stopped using that when i started using neural plugins (and the 11 11 11 11 plugin because heavy) but those cost a fair bit of money
Great 2 week free trials though
Yeah, no worries! Those all look like good options! Thanks! 🙂
Anything from the Jackson JS series, they got a variety of shapes
Damn the schecters look pretty, i hope i can find one in a guitar store nesr me
Il ltry trsting it out in atore or something and compare the teo
I mean, that's ultimately the most important thing.
Trying out the guitar in your own hands and seeing how you like it is easily the most important thing when getting one.
IK Multimedia's create account page is killing me 😩 literally will not let me create an account even when I click "over 18". I guess I'm not getting amplitube 5 for now.
I don’t remember it being that hard, alot of amp software and whatever have some confusing license activation and installation steps, but they shouldn’t be that hard.
oh no, my password of only black circles, its only the only password i've ever used for every account ever
hello there, i am struggling with finding new inspirations to expand my guitar playing
can you give me any suggestions? i am a pretty good guitar player i would say
i can play fast solos, do tapping etc but struggling with sweep picking also, any tips?
Rough draft still
I'd recommend you find a song which you like, and contains sweep picking, and learn the song
for sweep picking
start with easiest exercises you can find on the internet
in 2 months of slow and articulate practice you will get very good
(metronome)
lowkey just go into the deep end LOL
the first sweep picking riff i learned was BoO - Machine
Nocturnal Bloodlust - Dagger has a really sick solo with a sweep lick
Death roll by Wage war has a cool lil solo that has a small sweep for it. That’s the first one I tried learning sweep picking.
You can try the last solo from blasphemian
the sweeps are pretty challenging but this solo unlocked my rolling sweeps
i learnt with this song as well its perfect for sitting and playing on loop
sounds dope too
really good for incorporating tapping into runs too
