#Guitars & Bass

theyll need work
Could honestly use a change of pickups (at least for my personal taste), and the body is pretty heavy, but nothing I personally take too big an issue with
usually a lot of work tbh
I don’t care for pickups as long as they have good output
for an 8 you want a clearer lower output pickup ngl
I´m happy with mine for doing like some stupid caveman shit from time to time, if it were to be my main guitar then yes, it´d need a good amount of work
I live by high output
Who said I didn’t like Muddyness 👀
you dont want muddiness on an 8 string sound cuz itll sound extremely sloppy extremely quickly
take it from someone playing high gain drop omegalul type stuff, yes, clarity is more important after some point.
lol ikik
I don’t think I’ll ever need an 8 string though
I don’t really listen to music that justifies it
Acrania guud
Maybe Sleep Token but even then I’ll just pitch shift
you really dont. Unless you´re like some technical death metal enjoyer and want to play Archspire or some shit, it´s unlikely you´ll need it. Honestly I just got mine cuz it was cheap and I wanted one to do stupid shit with it
r/meirl ngl
I have a 7 string that I don’t really use that often but it’s fun
7 STRING MENTIONED, SUPREMACY REACHED 🗣️
🤝
I still prefer 6 string hehehe
i've been learning quite a bit of archspire. stupid fun
i do have a new 6 string on the way
but i cant talk about it yet
I´m not even gonna try Archspire lmao
hell yes 🔥
I´m waiting on my 28" 7 string, but it´s gonna be a fkin WHILE before I actually get it
mine is an ibanez jcustom
Lowkey tryna trade my Schecter 7 string for the 6 string version
ordered mine custom from a really, like really small company....then the dude who builds them got injured and couldnt do any work for a few months, now he´s behind beyond recovery so I´ll get it when I get it
yea
yea thats what i was gonna do
but i wanted to
like see if anyone got any videos explaining maybe
pick positioning etc
as a lot of songs use that
Well I don’t know the song so I didn’t know
and thats one of those things i suck at
yea ik just clarified haha
Pick positioning has relatively little to do with playing a part like that, that´s more for tonality and clarity and up to song and taste. Get your wrist to the position you´ll normally palm mute at, try to find a position where you mute only the one but not the other string and then get a feel for it by playing octaves
thanks!
yea ive always just been very sloppy playing such riffs
Slapnut
so thought about finally actually improving and learning it
chill dude, now I need a change of pants
FIRE
that (presumably) empty box in the background is so relatable
HB box*
Yea LMAO
I was never an Ibanez gal
still relatable
god i still have to think of the tuning i want my j custom to be in 🫠
Drop E
I actually got my 25.5" 6 string in the HLB Drop E tuning - it´s a fucking abomination but I accidentally bought baritone strings and then just did it
I keep it around as a shock value type stuff
also I´d need to buy new strings for a guitar I barely ever play
and now it´s already that deep
so fuck it
i gotta fugging remember what i knew in drop a now
Drop G is the lowest anyone needs to go, any lower is ridiculous imo
i do see a use for F standard, thank you meshuggah
im very sure
im not a big fan of absurdly low tunings
mood
Nice argument, however
Currents. Invent Animate. ERRA. Thornhill. Sleep Token. HLB. Vildhjarta.
I rest my case
hald those guys are kinda overrated ngl
and im not saying theyre bad bands im just not a fan of the tuning
I dont even know if I´d really disagree with that tbh and I say that as a huge fan of all of them, but it´s just by far what I enjoy playing the most
I mean shit, my pfp is literally me playing the Snowblood riff
and im here doing melo death and tech death
I dont really listen to a lot of modern bands much anymore aside form like Sleep Token, Polaris and Bad Omens
bro I long for the day we finally get tabs for the new FFAA stuff. Love jamming Oh What The Future Holds
my taste in core is like 2000- to like 2016
i need to relearn demolisher
I need ro releasrn everything ngl, practice been slacking these last weeks
mood
at least i can still play most of the trivium stuff i learned
but not my shogun songs
TRIVIUM!!!!!!
I dont knwo any songs cause i rarely tune to Drop D
kirisute gomen is 7 string B standard sweetheart
I know?
then i have no idea what you mean by that comment
I dont listen to much after Ascendency i should have clarified

that makes more sense
Here is my next cover videofor this channel. It is the humble cover of Kirisute Gomen - Trivium
Time to prove my picking arm and see if i can keep up with this song. the gallops are something else and still very difficult
Gear used:
- GNG Morgoth 7 string guitar
- Axe-FX Standard
- SSL 2+ Interface
- Adam T5V monitors
I also dont have a guitar thats tuned to B standard
i have my seven string tuned to Drop G#
fuck i missed this 7 string of mine
youd be quite surprised
slipknot still tours with tube amps for instance
i also sell a ton of tube amps
Ik i mean people in this chat
Even more specifically how many people here use a 5150, 6505 or 6505+
i wouldnt even have that as my second or even third pick for tube amps
my first pick is a diezel vh4, then an omega granophyre and then and engl fireball 100 with KT77
I have the opposite issue with mine lol
It seems to be a bit too dark for me
could be your cab as well tbh
maybe
i know which cab im personally getting if i need one tbh
it would be a redseven 2x12
I have some G12's
but i also have access to too much gear that most people would dream of tbh
I want too get a diffrent cab but then id have 3 cabs in my room
get the bare speakers insted at that point tbh
a v30 and a green back for one of them at least
this is why you pair it with a V30 and Greenback
those two have such a nice midrange
v30+greenback is only in one of the shelf cab lol
Ill find a cab that i vibe with one day
These are the speakers I have
To be more specific
I'm partial to Celestion Hot 100s and Eminence Swamp Thangs but those don't work for everyone. They have great mids and they don't have shrill high end.
I do, but I only have one, a Sunn Enforcer
Never heard of them?
Lemmie see
I mean I like my speakers but I wish it had a bit more high end
Through I have 2 cabs and I should get rid of one
They're very, very rare amps. I have a matching 4x12 and I'm looking for a matching slanted 4x12
Fair. If you want highs, V30s are pretty good for that. That's one of the reasons I'm not a huge fan of them 😭
I have a bunch of phone demos and one cover I did with it miced up. I have to replace one of the speakers in the 4x12 since it's starting to go out on me
Damn
Maybe I will have to get V30s you’re the 2nd person to suggest them for what I want
Demo of my 1984 Sunn Enforcer Amp being played through a 70s Sunn 4x12 with original Transducer speakers. No pedal, all pure amp tone. Low volume, this amp really opens up with louder volumes. It's a perfect amp for stoner rock or doom, huge fuzzy gain. Guitar is a stock 2005 Gibson Flying V. This is a pre Fender era amp, one of the last of the ...
I was playing around and mixing and matching gear today. Put my Redbacks back into my 2x12 Randall cab and fired up the old Sunn Enforcer and hit it with my OD9. I had both channel A and channel B engaged. Thing sounds fkn bitch'in lol 🤘😎
Recorded with a Samsung Note 8, 1998 Orville Les Paul Custom with Fralin PAFs. Cab is a Randall 2x12 with 1...
(Not my videos)
But this is what the Enforcers sound like
They're well liked. Great mids and a lot of highs. I'm not a fan of the high end of them personally 😭, they're a staple for modern metal
That’s fucking killer
Yeah but literally every modern band uses them
Guitars 1 and 2:
2006 Cort Curbow 5, Sovtek Black Russian Big Muff, BOSS NS-2, Sunn Enforcer, Sunn Enforcer 4x12, Shure SM57, Sunn Alpha Six
Guitars 3 and 4:
2006 Cort Curbow 5, BOSS NS-2, Sunn Beta Lead, Sunn Enforcer 4x12, Shure SM57, Sunn Alpha Six
Guitars 5 and 6:
2006 Cort Curbow 5, Ibanez Tube Screamer Mini, BOSS NS-2, Crate G600XL, Sunn...
This was my cover
And I try not to be like everybody else
My tones were a little shitty since I used a bass with flatwounds for the "guitar" tracks
But I already use a 5150 variant
Two "guitar" tracks and the entire bass track were the Enforcer and Enforcer 4x12 miced
5150+V30s is a pretty common combo, but for good reason, everyone tends to love it
If you like the combo, go for it
go hard
while i agree that like, gojira and evh are okay enough? you just dont get the full range of what you can do w/ tapping through them
this song is how i learned tapping
its hard, but when you get it down its so good
if you have a 7 or 8 - https://open.spotify.com/track/2Lg8cOSLotJIdCMtXLasPH?si=623feba4f4374b2a
if you want something a little softer (and easier) that still makes more use of tapping than just using it for arpeggios - https://open.spotify.com/track/1sFMp92IOMEXvza2liF4DZ?si=021e09bdd625457e
some other songs with tapping:
Death - Crystal Mountain
The Fall of Troy - I Just Got This Symphony Goin'
Delta Sleep - 21 Letters
Don Cab - DETAILS ON HOW TO GET ICEMAN ON YOUR LICENSE PLATE
Uchu Conbini - 8films, Pyramid, EverythingChanges
Protest The Hero - Sextapes, Tongue Splitter
Chon - Bubble Dream, Pitch Dark
Covet - literally every song, Yvette is a fingerstyle player so her music is always full of tapping
Elephant Gym - same deal, less tapping than Covet but there's still a lot + KT uses bass tapping
Plini - Electric Sunrise
TTNG - If I Sit Still, Maybe I'll Get Out Of Here
Anyone in Texas near San antonio or Austin want to start a djent project?

i need a good black metal tone
(sounds stupid lol)
something with archetype gojira
Black Metal? Aight. Just crank everything to max, run it through 2 distortion pedals, put a sheet metal trashcan over your monitors and stick a mic from the outside through the trashcan. || /s ||
well
almost my tone that i use now
I like the way it sounds in the mix but I was thinking of trying some other options
Guess the pedal, amp, and settings (pedal settings will suffice)
Black metal usually has a lot of highs and mostly scooped mids, the tone you went with a bit tighter and more chuggy imo, not as cold as most black metal tones
Definitely cause I'm doing slam with it
But I started a black metal band and recorded 2 songs with that tone without changing it
Your tone sounds like if Gojira did black metal
That's why it's unusual for black metal
Lmao
I have Gojira riff in one of the song
It'll sound great in a mix but most of black metal tonally is... well... not so great tones 😅
True
Usually because guitarists were working with whatever they got their hands on back then. Tiny Yamaha or Peavey amps, etc. Hell, Batory's first album was done through a tiny Yamaha combo for guitar AND bass
Well
I won't lie, I don't do mixes, but I try to do more non-typical black metal and rather the kind that I like, and I'm not a fan of classic black metal
Sweden didn't have a ton of imported amps at that point. They used whatever they could get their hands on. Usually not ideal equipment, which led to some very harsh, yet cold and atmospheric tones
And I try to make the sound "beautiful"
I didn't know about this
Cool facts
Do what YOU want to do. Just because it's not a typical black metal tone doesn't mean it's bad :), most black metal tones suck balls haha. That's part of the appeal imo
Norway as well
Well... Scandinavia as a whole
If you know Swedish death metal, Entombed used a tiny Peavey Studio Pro 40 and a BOSS HM-2 for Left Hand Path. The non chainsaw tracks were a BOSS DS-1 and a Yamaha amp iirc
Mayhem had an album that used unmastered drums. Black metal musicians back then didn't really care about mixing like most musicians do today haha
I will definitely do
first of all I'm trying to have fun haha
Wanna check the demo with that tone?
Hell yeah!
Today it is difficult to imagine popular metal bands without a mix
For the record, your tone is way better than nearly any original black metal album. Technology is great, if they had what we have now back then, those albums would sound far different
I'm digging this! The riffs are definitely black metal-y. Very atmospheric
The vocals are spot on too
Cause I literally can't sing lmao
I don't believe that. Your vocals sound great
Thanks✨
Glad to hear that
This is a track for an album I'm working on now, there's also a single that came out recently, if you liked it you can listen to it too
#blackmetal #metal #music #guitar
Lyrics English:
Darkness squeezed the heart, fettered the breath,
The stars went out in black eyes.
Through the dust of time, groans are heard,
Forgotten gods whisper in the void.
I break out of the abyss of empty despair,
But each step is only an illusion of light.
The sky froze in dead silence,
The cold of ...
Hell yeah!
It's longer and in Russian
April 1st will be released on Spotify and other platforms, only YouTube for now
Hell yeah!
My band has an album coming out April 18th
I'm listening to the YouTube track now 🙂
Nice
Do you do black metal too?
Nope. I don't really know what to consider us. Maybe some sect of alternative metal? I have a black metal song I wrote ages ago that I never finished. Had way more typical tones of the genre (garbage 😅)
These are our finished songs
Send me your band, I'll listen to the single when it comes out✨
Nice
This is our Spotify
Neither of the song versions on Spotify are the final ones. We rerecorded Slaughtered In Moments and remastered Citylights
Subscribed
Omg thank you! :3
My personal favorite tracks are Slaughtered In Moments, Futility, Jagged Crown, and Corpse Party. Like Rain is the lightest track
I'll listen a little later because I'm on the road now
Gonna check them first
I did guitars, bass, and some vocals (lead vocals on Alice and backing vocals of Citylights)
I also did some mixing and mastering, also drum programming on Futility
Jordy did some guitars, vocals, most of the drum programming, and helped with mixing and mastering
Jordy wrote Did I Miss Anything?, Requiem, Come Up Come Down, and Like Rain. I wrote Citylights, Slaughtered In Moments, Futility, Jagged Crown, Alice, and Grove Oak Deception. Me and Jordy did half of the writing each for Fleeting and Corpse Party 🙂
Niice
So you are a 2 man band?
Yep! 🙂
Guys, does anyone know how to emulate the sound of an acoustic guitar on an electric guitar?
I hit a clip chat
I think the tapping was a little weak but other than that I'm pretty happy with the progress
Oooh, I like the transition from sweeping to tapping, that's very cool :D
Can someone confirm if these pickups are replacement from the old. I'm sure it's a Schecter PT Fastback but the pick up and back is slightly different I think
BOSS Acoustic Simulator
Thanks gonna check it
Oh wait
This is a pedal
I'm more interested in the vst haha
But thanks anyway ✨
Not sure of any VSTs that do it but I know the pedal does, it was worth a shot haha
FIRE
That ghe omen elite 7?
Im probably gonna get one as well
How is it?
Hows the neck n playability
And tuning stability
I don’t have the 7 but I have the 6 string version and I love it, I also have the sunset extreme 7 which if you don’t mind loosing the tone knob is a nice alternative and I assume would be very similar to the omen 7
#guitar #guitarcover #polyphia #timhenson #goat #fyp #shorts
how can i make my guitar sound more like polyphia?
Thankies
Thanks and yeah it’s the omen elite 7
I’ve had it for a little over a year and love it, it’s my first 7 string and everything about playing it is pretty comfortable
This riff was pretty easy to learn ngl but man is it fun
What riff is that?
i speak astronomy from jinjer
Sick
Yeah but can you play Stairway to Heaven? Haha jk bro that guitar is insane
Jbm27. Its a pretty fun 7 for sure
10-59 elixirs for drop is perfect
0.10 gauge for life
Depends tbh
I do like it for 7's but for 6 strings i prefer a more standard set of 9's for e standard
I mean unless you're playing Vildhjarta I wouldn't use another gauge haha
0.09 is a great gauge too tho
Depends on the tuning im gonna play tho
Lets get insane lol, for a Drop G tunning what would you use?
I think for my next guitar ill go maybe 11-58 or something like that in drop B 6 string
11-62 at most
Depending on scale length
Daaaaaamn, call me a bitch haha but my fingers couldn't play that
Recently I bought a .11 for my 6 string Floyd Rose on Drop C and I almost died lol
For drop c id go 10-52
Those arethe ones I am using lol, my experiment of using fucking .11 strings was a waste
I want a baritone
And what guitars do you own?
Solar a1.6s, ltd 87 series m-1 and my ibanez jbm27
But i do have a brand new j custom on the way
Daaaaaaaaamn
How's the Solar compared with the Ibanez? At least for me Ibanez is my "go to" brand but I've heard Solar slams
They dont compare
The j.custom will blow all my guitars out of the water lol
LEE MALIA SIGNATURE LEAKED!
IM SO STOAKED
OMG
AND ITS UNDER THE 1K LINE LETS GOOOO

How can I improve this tone without buying something??
It’s my own riff if you’re asking
its a good rhythm tone ngl
Idk bro after listening to those Jason Richardson chugs mine feels like an overdrive tone lol
what things do you use for ur tone?
Its a pretty cheap rig actually
I use a Boss GT1 multi effect processor and a Boss Katana Mini amp
Guitar is a cheap Ibanez RG
play with the multi effect
Wdym
i am not really a tone builder
but i am sure you can find some tutorials online
Ngl those tutorials sucked
They promoted more like an AC/DC tone than an actual metal tone
For a lead tone ofc
You can try to play a bit with the settings
i bought his tone for fractal his chugs is so punchy
Tho he puts quite a bit noise gate so it cuts off pretty quickly
Yea mine can’t do that
Mine the subpar playing was trying my best to show how punchy it is. It's phone audio
This is his 2024 live tone. It has alot of noise gate u can hear cut off on some
That noise gate is insane at the 2nd clip
I'm guessing he either picks extremely hard. Or depends on song and he uses gain boost on his guitar to make it less cut off
Cause the one in the clip is regular rhythm. His tight rhythm cuts off even more than that
Apparently, Warmoth (the big parts company) will let you pick out pickguard samples (3 per order) to accurately match a new pickguard to the finish and hardware of your instrument because of the variances between manufacturers (Mint and cream colors were mentioned specifically), cameras, display monitors, the human eye and the lighting in the room you play in.
is this song on a 12 string or 6 string? https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=MtWJoIUifQI&list=PLBm08dQMlHwEA_0SqwToPa8aYuhTAu98L

im talking about the acoustic parts, not the electric
Guys
I need some disgusting guitar tone
Some knocked loose type
Do you know how to make it?
Something like this
I think nick shows how he got the tone in that video
He uses fuzz and distortion
Oh
Gonna try to find this video
Thanks ✨
i got that strandberg now 🙏 i am unstoppable now

Thicc
Does anyone else here use the Ample Guitar VSTs? I need help figuring out a really nasty bug that causes obnoxious noise spikes and auto-mutes my guitars when I render out a file. (Is this even the right channel for it?)
Fairly certain it has to do with the setup I'm using but I don't know for sure
indeed a thicc ass guitar
im not usually a fan of solars
but
this one
is fucking rad
it looks killer as well
imagine if it had fishman fluences on it as well

14 y/o me would have peaked
Wat
I would’ve loved a Squire
Ohh
Mb I type faster than my brain registers
I really dislike LP shapes
I love them
I don’t think they’re that comfortable to stand with
Though I would kill for an ESP Eclipse
Ooh a jazzmaster would be interesting too
Jazzmasters feel so nice
Its useed by one of the bands in looking forward to
I just wish they had humbuckers for high gain
Fair
Fair
Fair
Fair enough
Thats probably enough
I would also love a Fender acoustisonic
Oh that looks interesting
Definitely a better take
Probs my top 3 I’ve written
I finally have a bass
We got a similar looking collection
i wanna buy boss gt1000 core but it doesnt have an expression pedal built in
i have one expression pedal (m audio) is it compatible with this
and should i get a gt1000 core or kemper profiler player??

A 5150
Get a line 6 instead
kemper prob
check some reviewes on youtube
is it better?
Idk about the gt1000 but gt1 is trash
I’ve seen a lot of touring musicians using line 6 processors
i think it lacks the dynamics the gt1000 core has
I can vouch for Line 6 being f*cking awesome.
Literally my first FX processor (helps that I was using it with the Amplifi 75 amp), that thing carried me for years on end. Line 6 is actually really reliable.
U should watch comparison of kemper gt1000 core and hx stomp
anyone got some tips to clean up low tones? Like super low. Been jamming a little Vildhjarta these last days but the Drop A0 type shit is really tough to get a good tone for that isnt dealing with a bunch of unwanted noise. Clarity isnt really the issue, more like noises that need tidying up
cleannn
thanks so much
Here is a little riff i wrote (Drop D)
The rose of Sharyn finally
The lowest I’ve gone is Drop A on my 6 string damn
Surely that’s a 9 string for A0?
figured it was best to come back with a new rundown showing rhe sounds in the new setup!
0:45 clean sound
3:31 Blue Colander Black Emperor Mini
5:00 Jptr FX jive
5:53 Fuzzrocious Big Fella
8:27 Holy island Plague Pit, Mountain Mover and Blue Colander Black Emperor 5 knob.
this will be what i use to record the new @stealthmoose2951 Ep and for...
7 String or 8 string pitch shifted
calle plays on 6 string baritones nowadays
number of strings doesnt matter
Bwoah
That's the additional thing, yeah
Love me some baritones
just wrote my first guitar riff with a slide. i took some insperation from pink floyd
it kind of sounds bad ngl. im not used to playing with a slide
Very cool... For something more metal with a slide, check out Bad Horsie by Steve Vai
New pedal day
which one 👀
I do wonder how would the KH 602 do and feel like if youd slap a 12-60/62 set on it and set it up in drop B
grab the first one and do mick thomson stuff
evertune not worth it if you're not doing stuff where its actually needed
i will die on this hill, no one can change my mind tha bedroom musicians dont need an evertune
honestly
my ESP LTD EC 1000
is strictly set up
only in drop B
and thast like the only tuning i use it in
and even tho i have it set up
at my local shop
it goes out of tune more often than my fucking 3 year old squier strat with 1.5 year old strings
i would LOVE to own an evertune
if not a floyd
- my friend has an evertune and he cant praise the shit out of it
that it's the best investment hes ever done
floyd
he got the josh smith signature
evertunes are heavy and take away a lot of the resonance of the guitar
and theyre not always as good as they seem they are
idk ive heard that its not that big of an issue
we've sent back the new alex wade XJ for fret problems and problems with the evertune at the store i work at
just a little loss on the sustain
not a little
and passive pickups in them dont really work that well anymore because of the loss of that much wood in the guitar where you basically have to go active on them
id go with active fishman fluences either way
we work on them almost everyday at my job and they continue to be some of the worst feeling guitars we get in
that you have to do anyway
and remember, anything you can get from thomann i can get as well. plus we can set it up for ya in exactly what you want
whats your shipping costs tho 👀
in europe free
axe palace right?
oh thats rad
if i ever
get the money
and decide on the m-1001
which isnt on thomann
ill probs order it from yall
because the M-1000HT is my dream affordable guitar though, regarding both looks and specs but my problem is that its a hardtail (even tho its hipshot) bridge instead of a Floyd or well as i stated an Evertune, because im genuinely so annoyed and pissed already on my ec-1000 for holding tune worse than a 50EUR guitar lmfao. so probably the m1001 it would be then
this one
love you bro 🙏
appreciate it 🤝
we can get you that as well
im guessing you guys have a 1 year warranty instead of a 3 year oneo?
standard warranty ofc, cuz thats mandatory in europe
but if something happens after the first month its mainly the factory warranty so we'd have to do communications with our supplier and manufacturer instead
i see
most kinks will get iron'ed out before you even get the guitar tbh
and also, do you know how to stretch out your strings after restringing your guitar?
if you happen to make a setup with different string gauge as in file the nut slots bigger, would the warranty still work overall if a fault got to do with anything but the nut
always do that
no need to on a floyd
and i stretch them a ton
in general though?
on a hardtail we would tho
its part of the warranty cuz it would need to happen anyway for a good set up
but only when we do it before you get it
if you got it done by a third party then it wouldnt count
on the nut yes
but rest of the guitar is still covered right
depends on what the subsequential problems would be
that has nothing to do with the setup so yes thats still warranty viable
i see
thanks
though what type of warranty covered problems could even exist
besides pickup malfunction
strings and set up problems
so tuning stability as well?
wouldnt that be on you though
correct
but you'd be surprised with how dumb some people are
i meant like what problems coudl you get fixed with a warranty with my question, sorry lmao
oh definitely
ive heard some absurd stories
its all situational
might just do a new string change soon
and if my tuning is still such crap i might try and get thomann to check it out with my warranty or smth
because it used to be fine iirc
also i do have a question though, do you guys take in custom modifications on already existing guitars?
depends what you want to do
as in if i wanted to replace the hipshot with a double locking floyd on the m-1000ht for example
oh god thats an extreme modification we wont easily do
there's a lot more that goes into that then you might think of
yea true
cutting the cavity
etc
- id reckon that process alone would cost half the guitar lol
- pay for the trem system
basically
damn you esp for not being more diverse with your model specs ☠️
have you tried a hipshot bridge btw?
i heard that theyre one of the nicest bridges for palm muting
regarding comfort
with our current selection ofc lol
we have so many high end guitars that i have tried almost every single bridge configuration
floyds
and are hipshots truly that comfortable lmao
gotta drag my ass to the capital sometime and just spend some time on trying out diff bridges
they are comfortable lol thats not even a question
thats rad
but i appreciate your insight dude
🙏
its quite helpful when it comes to the endless consideration on which axe to get for that precious money lol
tbh that pricing you have in mind rn is usually about the starting point of where our guitars start
yea i figured
Discord sucks when it comes to uploading media bro
Like WTF am I supposed to record only using 10MB
It used to be 25 for a while. But then they lowered it.
Greed and gluttony foreal.. 💔💔
💀
Im more of a Jackson guy so im not familiar with other brands superstrats, but I play ibanez basses so i’d go with an ibe
Decided it was time i show this tone a bit of love!
signal chain is my modded jazz into a Ts50B into a @EarthQuakerDevices Life V3 with the distortion and Octave on then into my @MorningstarEngineering Ml10x to run my @HOLYISLANDAUDIO Mountain Mover and Blue Colander Black emperor in parallel all into a Hiwatt profile in my Kemper
please ask ...
tbh nobody can even tell lol
Life V3 is insane
i mean like, even as far as the lowest heaviest bands go
Frontierer - no evertune
Boris - no evertune
Nightmarer - no evertune
Thou - no evertune
Correct
You dont need an evertune even if youre touring
Tho if youre touring the world often i might consider it at that point depending on usecase
There is quite a difference in how bending sounds on an evertune guitar compared to a hardtail guitar tbh
tbh at that point i probably would too because you probably aren't setting up your guitars by then, and at that point you'll probably just get given evertunes for free lmfao
in my eyes its a waste of money
like a HUGE waste of money
Nah, there are usecases
hipshots do the job perfectly fine for like a third of price + they're way more comfortable
also dont think ive heard bending on an evertune before tbh
I know a few bands that tour with 2 guitars in total to keep their footprint smaller and for that it makes a lot of sense
There are definite use cases for evertunes but 99% of people dont need them
tbh maybe my view would change if more people i liked started picking up evertunes but i genuinely dont think i've ever seen them outside of djent lmao
I literally know a country band that uses them
Also devin townsend
i guess it leans more on the prog side than metalcore like most other djent music but still
Except that djent came from progressive death metal
thats if you consider meshuggah djent
Thats what they came from for sure
i know they changed their sound a LOT on nothing but i dont really listen to much from that era
But theyre definitely heavier and the vocals are a lot harsher
but like VSOR and DEI are straight up thrash to me
Well yeah DEI was their first proper album as the actual flavour of meshuggah
but anyway yeah like devin to me is kinda djent kinda not but thats still just one dude lmao
thats not offsetting the spirit-lane-riphery-ivals-eract djent shite by much

Then there is meshuggah in steroids
Car bomb
Thats basically an infusion of meshuggah and fear factory
Also, Danskimo with ECB has a schecter signature with an evertune guitar
i still cant believe he just straight up plays a gibson in that tuning lmao
schecter on their way to make the greatest guitars ever then ruin it with their shitty neck shape 😭
I dont think its a regular gibson
Its a baritone explorer
Tbh the lower output your pickups the clearer your sound will be on lower tunings
Also the fortin 33 helps A FUCK TON
getting that serrana done tommorow ong🙏
My condolences to your hands
It cramps like crazy when playing it for like 3 times
Im sorry for your loss
still need to get better at like 2 shapes
but i am really close to playing it 117% speed
Nah serrana was not that bad. But three bastards
thats a whole different story
Beno, check out mendel his last of his insta stories and come cry with me
tight af
yooo thats insane
so good
I need to practice it more tho
I got my first wah pedal
Anyone familiar with Jeketto picks?
Anyone see what jackson dropped!?
They look awesome
Even the budget ones

Just obtained this beauty
i remade this mgk song
it was trap and i made it rock
@balmy vortex hey dude
you've ever had the chance to play this specific model?
or ever had it in your shop?
Nope
It is very similar to my ltd
But in general we dont usually get LTD's in
i see
which ltd you got?
87' series m-I in rainbow crackle
also what guitar under 1.6-7k would you recommend the most that has a floyd rose or any good trem system that holds tuning
oh thats cool
Plenty of stuff i need to iron out lmao
still really well played man
🙏
i like almost never use my neck pickup but id imagine if i had only a 1 pickup guitar id probably run into that 1 time with it when i actually need it like i did yesterday lol
i guess some EQ could fix it but still wouldnt be the same and would be a pain in the ass to go and tweak the tone
Ong
Peak
What Megadeth song should I learn guys?
I feel obligated to learn a song after getting a Dave Mustaine sig
Tornado of souls, because I'm currently learning it, so we can be soulmates songmates :p
I could learn Dave’s part
tbh, all I'm learning is the solo at the moment... is pain
Fair
what genre would this riff fall under, forgive the poor timing and drums
Lars metal
what's that
cant wait for kemper profiler player to arrive
i gotta wait for 4-8 weeks for it to come
Sounds like it could fit a lot of genres
Also don’t admit your out of time just say you’re using complex polyrhythms
Sounds cooler
Hahahha
Yeah actually I was using a 6/2 rythm that was going on every 3rd quarternote of a 45/8 rythm
i feel like this riff already exists from something, but i don't know. it sounds like something
Welcome back to restring Sunday!
Today I get my hands on Music Store professionals in-house brand Fame.
It's similar to the concept of Harley Benton, and yet is very different.
This is a guitar that isn't advertised and not very many people know of.
It's a strong competitor for PRS building high quality and good value guitars in Europe.
0:0...
has a lot of master of puppets/doom vibe
with something else mixed in but can't think of it
Which EMG bridge pickup do yall recommend, I want to either get it in chrome gold or white plastic
i have an 81 and 85 in my sg
Got a few custom guitars too
Rig is a Peavey Windsor tube amp
I cannot even imagine being able to play the higher frets on that thing
It's certainly a fun collector's item I can say that
I'm on the opposite end, shorter fingers and hands. My hand size and shape makes it hard to play certain things... though that may just also be bad habits built up over years.
I like to pretend to re learn all the time like a child. Been playing since I was 5
It gives good new techniques. Whether others enjoy them as much as I do or not is irrelevant to me at this point in life lol. Single dad business owner
its probably why my new cringe guilty pleasure is electric callboy
just like back when i was younger and liked limp bizkit, also cringe but hey feelings bros
you never know where someone was when they heard a song
musics what feelings sound like
right now i want to start an internet band. i play drums and bass too, i'm willing to collab remotely. lfg guys
also i'm deformed so the roof of my mouth goes all the way up in a dome.. so i can make crazy vocals with it
"why dont you just do your own?" i like collaborating with unique people. also i dont mean to spam this guys, im kinda autistic i guess
Peavey t-27, Peavey mantis, unknown 7 string (probably Ibanez) s101 standard bass
Dean acoustic electric
Also I solder stuff/pro fixer. Send me your stuff and I'll fix it live
Jam room
also i grow food, that's a guitar right?
lol
I'm envious, I wish I had a jam room
it's by pure luck, fren
i dont deserve nice things in reality
but christ has seen it fit to provide
in reality i sit home and fix stuff for people all day, barely payin the bills. but i'm happy, so
good news is im a musician with limitless autistic energy ready to collab lets go frens
Peavey rules
you have good taste @rancid yew
I have my fair share 🤣
bro
I feel that. I'm up to 30 amps, 5 cabs, 8 guitars, 4 basses, and a 128 pedals 😭
I have a couple smaller practice amps Peavey somewhere
I've got like 16 guitars less amps
Def just that one cab on the Windsor. It's the only one I've ever bought
Bass player got mad at me for playing out of key one night and ripped the P off the Peavey now it's an eavey
I have like 5 pedals lmao. Morley wah, boss ds1, a loop pedal, grunge (whatever the brand) and some crappy compressor DigiTech I think? I usually just directly enter the sexy tube baby. Like nice and slow like
Bandit 112, hell of an amp!
Jesus 😭
It's unironically a great amp though, the bandit
You'll love this. I have a ton of Grunge pedals lmao
They're seriously amazing
Loool yep
Fun fact, most of the Digitech pedals have a "mixer output" which is basically just a cab simmed output. You can record straight into an interface with it. I've done that for my band lmao
I used the USB from that guitar game
Yep! Digitech Grunge. I have the OG FX69 Grunge and the FX69B Grunge too
On ps3
Sick
Rocksmith
My main amps are Sunn but I do have that mini solid state Soldano head and I quite like it
I thought about going modular but I love the tubes
My emg active bridge pickups make me sound elevated
I'm creative but I still suck after 33 years playing
Comparatively to the greate
I heard orange is a good amp too, you ever play with one of those? My fren had one it was fun to play that show on
We used to be too broke to have our own equipment and would play on other guys stuff
I've played a few. They're not my absolute favorites
Bro
I wanna hang out with you NGL
Lol
Incredible collection
Chef's kiss bruh
Here's all the ones I occasionally use
Compression is at my cousins
Grunge is in my daughter's room she's asleep
I'm so proud she's playing now
my next step is building a les paul from scratch
Both of those rule! I don't have a standalone wah but I have pedals that do wah
Thank you! 🙂
Sounds like it'll be fun!
i'm gonna try to use swamp wood from a cypress tree
because the state i live in
it's super dense and heavy, will make good sustain
FL?
Or Louisiana. Those are my two guesses lmfao
kek. FL is a good guess
yes very swampy
we have kind of a country accent here still too, i miss when everyone had it
most people hate us i guess lmao
I'm there 😭

Very nice
Thank you!
Bro ++++++
That's so good man
You've inspired me to play you guys something heavy, set a time I'll improv a song for you
Thank you man! 🙏
hell yeah man, drop it today 🔥 😈
wrote it today
bro
81 is good
@rancid yew were you the one with extra thick string?
lol bro i'm not the greatest but i believe i bring the energy with that guitar
125 on my 8, 200 on my bass 🤣
the divebombs sound better because people eat with their eyes first
i think i remember you from some other server
what do yall think about these type of combo peavey amps?
Peavey fucking rules
are they open back mostly?
the little combos yeah
For their guitar combos, yes, for bass, no
ah yeah the bandit bass doesnt have open back
i had one my ex sold while she put me in jail for HER dime bag (20 years ago almost)
ok gave too much info about me
There's a bass Bandit?
cool ass beard
there was unles i was mandella'd
i've been mandella'd before
okay i've misspoken, there's no bandit bass
it was a 15" im trying to find online i dont remember what it was now
because me having derp brains
but the point is the back was closed
just confirming your statement janis
but the wrong way
TNT? Combo 300? Combo Mark III? TKO?
EDB? KB?
bro WHAT THE FUCK
😭
thats insane
you gonna try and learn it??
Already learned it
these types of riffs are quite easy for me
But Adam DeMicco riffs are so insane
WHAT
my bro
you are a fucking guitar god
😭
nah foreal
The only riff i was able to kinda
play is the one in pain remains 1
bruh how the hell are you able to play that shit
I know I'm basically a novice compared to some of you folks but like damn
I play a lot of tech stuff so i learn stuff like this
also wrote this one today
haven’t tried to play it yet
Makes sense... I mean, most of the stuff I play is more simplistic rhythm-type stuff, especially since I sing at the same time... still, I'm impressed!
Did some things to my guitar make it sound a tad better and make it just a bit better to play.
Flipped the bridge pickup sounds alot fatter and clearer now even with heavy dist. Added some tape for picks and put some electrical tape on the volume to make it grippier
Tape on the neck pickup is purely aesthetic because dime was doing it
oh yea
this a banger
but sitll
holy fuck dude
ure insane
wish i could play like you man
this opens up soooooo many options musically as well
you just need to practice
thats all it takes ngl
does it have a difference?
btw dimebag was doing this so the strings didnt catch up on the corners of neck pickup while whammy abuse
The flipped pickup? It does have a tiny bit more low end I noticed, clean especially its nice
Used my new pedal in a recording lmao
What pedal is it?
Lurch Audio Ergot
#hateandsubscribe RIGHT HERE - https://bit.ly/3jieSHv
More info about Lurch Audio pedals right here - https://lurchaudio.bigcartel.com/product/ergot
The Lurch Audio Ergot uses the legendary Harmonic Percolator as its jumping off point, employing a 2n404a germanium transistor and a modern silicon transistor to create that classic squish, zing...
How much was it?
i need to write the other half but thats all i got for now
Did I cook?
6505+ combo 🙏
We went heavier with this riff. Only audio rn
Thx man shit is amazing
Though i dont use the spaker in it
External cab? What do you run it into?
Sick! Marshall 4x12
Yes I have 2 of them
My only 4x12 is a Sunn, it's an Enforcer cab
I usually run the Sunn 4x12 with a Carvin 4x10 but my Sunn has a busted speaker 😭
Seismic is great! I have their 2x15 bass cab!
They are really nice yeah
Most likely 😭, I share stuff everywhere lmao
You have some unique shit man
I’ve only ever seen like 2 people at gigs use Crate amps
I use to have this huge Crate combo when i first started
i got rid of it for my Marshall
I love Crates! My G600XL is a beast for metal. The reverb is weak but I never use that. With certain settings it can nail an HM-2 chainsaw sound
any1 know what guitars The Black Dahlia Murder used when making Nocturnal in 07?
Honestly if i had to guess maybe Jackson Kellys or any sort of jackson
Aight ty I’ll have a lock into it. It’s probs a top 3 album AOT of mine and I was looking into what sound I’d like in my next guitar
Ik I saw one of the guitarist do a cover of a song with a Kelly
That’s what I’m going off of
But I know jack all about them so take it with a grain of salt
Aight
I’m sure they use Jackson’s tho just gotta figure out which
thats a good one
just got this bass ukulele
Could this be considered a metal riff? If so which subgenre would it fall into
The answer is:
Yes.
It can be any genre
Knocked loose riffs can be Thrash if at the right octave and Metallica could be pissed core
Mhm
Like what I said octave this down it could be slam, pace this faster it could be thrash it could be anything that I want
Just ordered this. A modded 1977 EHX Op Amp Little Big Muff. Modded for true bypass, had the capacitors replaced, has an LED, has a standard 9 volt jack, and the highs/lows tone switch now switched between highs and mids! Couldn't pass it up for the price
Why does my guitar sound like its coming out of an out of freaquency radio
I recorded it with an iPhone13 camera btw
Something I made up cuz Lars always messes up the drums
The seller of the 1977 Little Big Muff Pi was nice enough to send me a schematic of this version. It's not op amp, it's transistor, with a modified V3 circuit.
challenge for tommorow

Are there any exercises to get more finger width & strength? (I struggle a lot with using both my ringfinger and pinky at the same time on the fretboard and want to improve that). I know I could look these up but there is such an oversupply of tips and exercises that I don't know where to look or what sites to trust
My 1977 EHX Little Big Muff arrived, up to 129 pedals now!
do arm wrestling exercises
and get a gripper
i need to go back to this project and try to cook it up cuz it has some potential
i have so much ideas for this one
Anyone got the Jackson LM-87? Will it take an .80 gauge low E string with minimal to no modification?

Practicing jazz chords for the first time gave my pinky calluses for the first time
8 months into playing electric guitar and it never happened before
New guitar day is a great day

where did you get those buttons for your pedals?
Tried my best at a Vildhjarta cover - I´m clueless how Buster manages to get such a good and crisp tone in Drop A0, but I did my best to create a somewhat fitting tone with the limited knowledge I have
you could try to cut some of the mids and add a little room on the high frequencies with an EQ
nice playing btw
Might be an option. Different people gave me different advice, might just fuck around with it a little more. Thanks btw :D
Our singer got them for me from who knows where.
I was trying to play Shot In The Dark solo.
I ain't no solo guy, I actually play a lot from scratch and by my ears, but for a first attempt, not bad
