#Guitars & Bass
1 messages · Page 26 of 1
Thats me about knives I know so much about them and will straight up yap for hours about it lmao
I'm trying to learn more about guitars
Not many people with enough experience or those that do can't talk to me daily and teach me haha
I have tried many guitars.
So I may be so inclined to help.
How about different necks (profile, materials....) and fret materials and strings......
lol there's so much I wanna know... I'd happily chat about stuff though and learn if you wanna DM me or just chat here
Well is there a specific neck you looking for in specific? Personally I prefer Fender's take on the C shape necks (mainly because I grew up with them and I'll show u something in a minute) but a couple years ago I tried a Schecter for the first time in years and I loved it. But I'm not the biggest super strat fan so I got an LTD SN-200 I found with the Thin U neck and it's been my main ever since.
Oh I'm just looking to get a handmade custom neck right now to put on my strat as the neck is destroyed...
Ahh I see.
You can always go Warmoth.
Thats who I am going with

Oh that's funny
This is my first real guitar. It's a 2002 Made in Mexico Strat I modded myself.
With Lace Deathbuckers.
So what exactly are you looking to do? Like are you a riffy boi like me or are you a shreddy got to go fast boi.
Or maybe somewhere in the middle.
Super shreddy like crazy, I have my chuggy 6 string already this strat is a shreddy strat but not SS
Nice mines a Mexican strat too!
Here's what I was thinking
People sleep on Mexican ones. The one I have is in a rare color they only made for that run.
I wish I never bought mine... The neck bowed the wrong way and they only put a one way truss rod in it so I can't fix it...
Everything on it thats original once i get this new neck will be the body
Everything else will have been replaced by now.
Getting a new trem and claw for it too haha.
Oof Wizard neck....I hate wizard and nitro necks.
Wizard II is okay, Wizard III is just straight nope.
I want something even flatter then the wizard
What about it don't you like?
Even flatter?
Yea
I like my round necks for chugging it's comfy but not for fast stuff.
The neck on the Majesty is pretty flat.
I'm probably going bare wood for this neck...
Do you know any other cutsom makers that have something flatter?
It's just a taste thing. I don't Ike flat necks. Unless it's a 7 string or something for me it doesn't make sense. I need a little meat on it. Somethin to grab on to.
Absolutely agree on extended scales.
Do you play more chuggy stuff or lead stuff?
Extended scale?
Extended range lol
Not sure if you know Amar Alhoch but I embody his playing way to much haha.
Love his work and I like to play similar stuff
I play much more chuggy stuff I'll show you in a little bit.
Sounds good!
Honestly.....Strandberg.
Oh ya they make necks don't they eh?
Do they fit into strats?
They're Endur necks are REALLY fuckin good for a lot of things. I honestly really like them despite them being flat because of the way the back of the neck in designed.
I want to try one of those they seem really interesting
I'm looking forward to visiting Nam someday or sweet water...
I'm not quite sure about this. I think they only make necks designed for Strandbergs.
Another company you could go with is Schecter. They Sun Valley shredder necks are ridiculously flat.
Never have liked a schecter necks though never even heard of those.
The guitar center in Manhattan (cuz I live in NYC) had a Strandberg Plini signature for a while, and one of the early ones too cuz it didn't have Fishmans in it like they do now. It was really fuck sick.
Don't get me started on plini sigs
I need one in my life
Bro I gotta tell ya it was somethin else. Plugged it in to a 5153 and my god.
I think i will go with this thingy seems like the best option out there TBH and I do like the wizard necks aaloooot just do want something thinner.
Maybe not flatter bit thinner.
Lovely
It was like 26something.
Yea
So plus tax it's like 2700.
Is it cheaper nowadays that feels expensive?
Guitars are always like 100 bucks more than what it says on the tag.
Oh fuck me first link I see for his guitar is 4 grand lmao
Cuz tax in the US fuckin sucks when it comes to instruments.
Those are the new ones.
And that's bought direct.
I was LUCKY. To find one at 2700
In 2022? Sheesh
Oh you where damn
Hell yeah bro.
By then Strandberg had grown beyond that weird headless guitar Sarah Longfield used.
Bunch of players Ike Plini and Richard Henshall had started using em.
I love Plini like he's one of my biggest inspirations in music...
I have a picture with him hehe
I love plinis work lmao
Which one was that?
It was the all black one that had looked like she painted a bunch of colors on it.
Also the guitar I sent is the Schecter Sun Valley Shredder.
Sweetwater has a good return policy right?
I could order guitars to try and return right????
Forget the guitar itself just look at thr neck profile.
I believe so yes. I've never ordered from Sweetwater before I always shopped at my local Sam Ash.
The guys knew me and occasionally let me try out the new shit they got in whenever they saw me.
Bro that guitar is cheaper then my strat raw... let alone the shit I've been putting in it.
Do I just buy that schecter and put in my pickups from my strat at this point??? The neck I want is about the same price as just that guitar.
I got a buddie that's friends with the guys at sweet water he ordered 6 pianos for his wife and they where just like try it out and return the ones you don't like
Idk if that's just because he's close or just their return policy
Sounds amazing, like my local store but my local store just always has the same stuff never new stuff...
I can't find the profile
Yeah bro. One day I walked in they're like "Hey, we got this new Ibanez from the 2024 line....wanna check it out?" It was like 1k but I was like fuck it we ball. It had Fishmans, Evertune, the works. And thank God for no flat neck. Best Ibanez ever.
Neck shape is Thin C.
I'll Google it eh?
Oh man sounds soooo nice was it a 6 string?
Nah it says neck shape and it's says Thin C. If you want fingerboard radius, it's 14"
I believe so yes.
Man I like 12 at the largest
Very very cool, sounds perfect.
I want an evertune
Yeah I found it. It was part of the Axiom Label series.
I really think I should do this at this point find a guitar I love that I like that's as much as the neck I want then just swap electronics at this point
It must be out now as well eh?
(Also gtg play some games soon)
I gotta nerd with you more lmao.
It is out.
@lethal fractal
This is it.
Thats really pretty
It's a great fuckin player too.
Its funny I don't like SS designs anymore
I'll shoe you Amars guitar you may appreciate it
Hell yeah.
The most incredible guitar I have ever seen or played; my custom LSL Saticoy 24! A more metal strat than this, I have never seen!
The first song: Rogue https://youtu.be/117FgTRJthI
The second song: Midnight Dance https://youtu.be/VsKIzAElKfo?t=1075
The third song: A New Beginning https://youtu.be/VsKIzAElKfo
Stream my entire album https://hy...
I can't find photos lmao
I could text him to ask for some photos even but yea I love his guitar is beautiful
That's a beautiful guitar.
Oh man it's sooo pretty
He also has really cool sig guitar pic I have one on its way to try out.
Also 6mm also have a 24mm pick on its way soon
Kek
I don't need want but man do I want one so I'm gonna get one next month
Personally I like full fat strats. I don't like super strats too much or flattop strats.
Yea I've grown out of my SS stage
Simple because they share one major problem, the contours are either too shallow or the guitar is too smol.
Although Chapman's ML1 actually feels really nice I was honestly genuinely surprised.
They are surprisingly good. Rob Chapman himself aside, his guitars are honestly very good.
Hey yall, I’m thinking about finally starting to write some music, how does everyone go about writing riffs or songs? Not looking for a whole process just little things that’ll help out
It’s like I have writers block for music
I just keep playing it til it feels right. Then find a drum beat that goes along with it.
Find something that inspires you and try to something in the style of it.
He's amazing, seeing him play blindfolded is always so much fun
I write drums first if I don't have riffs yet and then use them as a backing track to inspire riffs
If you want to go riffs first and can't make drums you like just find a backing track and play with it and find stuff with like when playing and implement it into your own music
Yeah that works. I play drums also and I have some ideas on drums I could put music too but I just feel like it’ll never be good enough for me yk?
Like even if other people like it I would just hear all the ways I fucked up and ways I could do it better I just don’t have the skill to
I feel the same way very often it happens
I just feel like there so many cool ideas I have but I don’t have the skill to execute
At least on bass or guitar I’m actually getting really proud of my drummer progress
Starting bass lessons in a couple weeks tho so
If that's the case just gotta practice more, it's where I'm at currently too and I'm just practicing 3 hours a day 12 hours on days I got nothing to do
Yep 👍
Get a chord progression and write a riff over it
or just noodle sum up
I just play random stuff and sometimes if it sounds good, I'll record it on my phone... Then proceed to do nothing with it and it sits among the other hundreds of random riffs and bits and recorded.
Like, I litterally put no thought into anything. I play some power chords, do some downpicking or add some gallops, throw in a few pinch harmonics and bends. What notes am I playing, I dunno, but if it sounds good, I'm gonna play it 🤷♂️
Thinking about selling my ESP LTD EC-1000 Duncan VB, have owned it for literally about 1 year + 1 month and I came to the realization the Les Paul style isn't for me. Thinking about putting an extra 400-500 bucks ontop of it and getting something I would probably be happier with. Bought the EC-1000 for about 1.1k EUR and thinking about selling it for 900-1k EUR as it is still in great condition and only has a little visual wear on the paint with a few scratches or so, will let my local guitar shop/luthier give their price for overall selling as well. Sounds like a good idea?
I'm currently trying to get faster finger technique at bass my influences are geezer butler, JB Vanderwal, and alex Webster from cannibal corpse, any time when I pluck faster than 80bpm with my fingers my forearm tenses and hurts, does anyone have any tips on how to not make that happen?
the drums have me dying 😂
Sounding amazing
what should be a decent gauge of string for achieving drop f# or so on a non baritone six string guitar
gotta go fast lol
Still gotta give us a scale length 25.5?
i think for that you should just pitch shift ngl 😭
yup
but pitch shift are not that good for liveplay
atleast the one that i have isnt
.074
and which brand's should i get?
cant find that
There ya go
Probably i just think their strings are garbage...
Get DD over ernie
At Stringjoy we make it our mission to craft the word's best guitar strings, best bass strings, and best acoustic strings, bar none.
Check these out.
which one of them should i get
and which one of dd should i get?
Stringjoy if you can order them and just order a custom set
which custom set there are many in there
tho m pretty sure they dont ship to my place either
They should, rarely don't.
Custom six 6 set and build your own they have a tension calculator as well you can use.
okay
I use D'Addarios 8 string pack which is 10-74
just skip the two lightest strings
Usaly only one set of strings per tuning... Though you can usaly go up or down a semitone Maybe a whole tone down if you are running a bit higher tension then optimal
I use them on a 6 string 27 inch baritone so it might differ for you
but i have it in drop E or the "loathe" tuning
On my 7 string which is also 27 inch i use 72s in drop F#
The strings could be a little "sloppy" but it works fine for me
I have a 25.5
then you'd probablt have to use thicker strings than me
so 74 in f# might be good
if your nutslot is big enough
then youd have to file it to size
It might work even if it not the completely right size but the string would lay on top of the nut
it could create noise and intonation issues im pretty sure
Maybe im not sure
I see
you can remove some of the layers of the strings to make it fit if it doesnt
like unwind it
For now m borrowing my friend's 8 string but in future I'll need smth for low tuning
So m thinking either to get a 7 or 8
What would u prefer
I like 7 more
but depends on what music you want to play
7 for sure
I expand my music with stuff that I can play
get a 7 string baritone
Like if I get 8 and I get exposed to 8 string stuff I'll learn that
Nice idea
30 inch scale
yeah but alot of "8 string songs" can be played on 7
i like 27 more
Might be difficult to find where I live
For now my eyes are on jackson 7 string rhoads ht
I like 27.5 the most i find just it's a bit tighter...
havent tried
Without having to use dumb thick strings...
is it possible to deliver to your location?
like from any online store?
Bro i live in India and extended range guitars are already a rare thing
i see
Even if it delivers import duties and all would be a lot
yeah but there might some indian store?
M getting this for like 400ish usd
thats nice
There are that's where I found this rhoads
then i think you should go for it if you like it
or try to find some place where they do sell baritones
Ye cuz 1 it's in my budget 2 8strings don't have interesting shape plusbthey start out of my budget
7 string baritone
My only reason for thinking bout 8 string was
That theyre 8 string
if 8 strings are more available to you then i think thats the best option
Yes they're pretty much available
Mostly ibanez
And schecter but mostly the diamond series which is balls expensive
7 and 8 are almost equal in popularity in the stores here
The only difference is that 7 string got variety of shapes and all
And 8 string is pretty boring
my 7 string is a pretty budget friendly ibanez
works completely fine
Ibanez is bang for the buch
Buck
But the 8 strings have had a spike in prices here from 400usd to 600+
For no apparent reason
While 7 string remained untouched
Yeah but i think 600 is pretty reasonable for a guitar
It is but it's gonna be hard to convince my parents knowing that I have 2 bass and 1 guitar already
if you sell one of your basses
That's what I was thinking
But the one that I'll sell is my 4 string cuz I don't use it
But I have an emotional connection to it cuz it was my first bass
And first string instrument
yeea
Yes but hard to use, how good is your fretting hand muting?
Pretty good
Good
M core kid
@lethal fractal
This is what I meant by I'm a riff guy.
This is one of my favorite ones I've done. It's a demo I did for Fortin Nameless.
I don't tend to use on the bigger chords unless I'm feeling spicy.
Btw judging from you PFP I would assume you're a Sonic fan.
I would assume you might enjoy this
No lyrics (yet) but soon @lethal fractal
As a kid I was a massive fan nowadays not as much just appreciate what it brought me as a kid
I'm still a massive Sonic fan. Jun Senoue and Crush40 got me into guitar.
My goal is to one day learn Open Your Heart.
i know it's a long shot, does anyone have tab for pain (the song nik made with dickie) i'd love to cover it at some point
https://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/nik-nocturnal-pain-chorus-tab-s548704
Idk if this covers it
yeah that works, its not the full song but i reckon i could work out the rest
thank you ❤️
Oh absolutely good practice too!
No worries enjoy.
some more added to my song
i will re record the riffs
and re write them a bit
but thats what i got for now
Beno is too cracked at guitar. He needs to be nerfed so us mortals don't feel the need to quit
Unfortunately all of the parts are speed up a bit
but i think i could nail them if a practiced a bit
Probably, I've seen a few of your videos playing and you seem skilled enough to play it
But I get you, takes so many takes just to get that one clean one or play a little slower and speed up to do less takes
no way i am siting two days to nail a part i could just record in 5 minutes
Hmmm, maybe for the final version, it could be worth it...
probably yes
but i am trying to make something like „the battle of the yaldabaoth” so not everything needs to be possible to play
The sweeps are definitely very Infant Annihilator... Or maybe that's just because IA sweep alot 🤷♂️
Beacouse of IA i focused a lot on sweeping
love eddie pickard
It’s sad how people don’t talk about him enough
he is a beast
is there anything i can do to get better at sweeping
all i do is use metronome
and I feel like theres gotta be a better way
i dont think its the sweep action for me its def getting clean notes while sweeping
Practice it slowly can't do it fast if you can't do it slow.
Start slowly then bump up the BPM by 30 try then and then drop the BPM -20 -15
Repeat that until you get the desired result
I think no i mean if u got the movement down it all comes down to practicing to a metronom and pushing speed
so just put in more hours?
i think im just underestimating how hard it is
Also walk away practice for 20-30 minutes then walk away for 15 then come back for 30 then walk away...
ooh bet, i remember someone telling me to do that a while ago
Learn pick slanting as well or buy a new pick that can glide through the strings easier.
i can do like sweeps from some solos like the a7x ones
yeah i just switched to v-picks a while ago
i was usingf 1.14 dunlop purples
As well proper pick depth just want to be tickling the strings.
thats what i did
Looser grip too, always the looser the grip the better... goes for all picking less tension on the hand as well squeezing a pick.
It's why I play 4-6mm or bigger
what pick specifically do u recommend
the one im using is kinda slippery too
im using this one rn
https://www.purpleplectrums.com/products/torlon-4203?variant=37906709971124
I'd recommend these... They last absolutely forever and have no friction on the strings at all.
This Item usually has a longer production or wait time than other models. Usually around 2 weeks. The holy grail of exotic industrial plastics, the Torlon 4203 or PAI, polyamide-imide. Known for use in Aerospace electrical components, it’s known for its high strength and heat resistance. How does this all translat
oh my days
what is that😭
You can get custom bevels on it too
Sharper rounded Yada Yada... Different finishes for gripping Different shapes.
A very very nice pick
I guess
but its not for me
max grip dunlop jazz III is the way for me lol
I mean now these these are beautiful picks lol
They reduce hand tension because they are thicker.
Some people can't play them... but man for some it's a game change
Yea beautiful
are u serious>
I love the one with the pinks it's also pointy as fuck
Anything from that company tbh is great...
too big for me but looks beautiful
https://www.purpleplectrums.com/products/untitled-aug2_16-34
These are what I'm currently about to try out...
The UHMW-PE is also an amazing plastic glides really easily too just doesn't last as long...
Yea for sure i can't play small picks sometimes I will pick one up for really bouncy jazz playing but otherwise I stay thick
That pick is on its way right now I can show you the order lmao
What about it would be trolling?
😂
was very goofy at first glance cause i had never seen something like that
are they like new>
or have these been around
Only company out there that really specifically makes thicker picks because well they are great
They also have metal picks and their thin line series
@lethal jewel you may like the thin line series because it's like the jazz threes but you literally don't need to pick slant because how easily thr picks glide through strings lol
They are goofy AF but they also shred as fuck lmao
need that rn lol
Also that square shape has a version of the thin line... I like the square shape more because gives more thumb space like a bigger pick but no deflection from the taller pick
FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE This item ships USPS 1st class in a flat envelope without a tracking number. Introducing the ThinLine guitar pick series. Now you can experience the awesome material UHMW-PE in a thin profile. This material is an industrial thermo-plastic with exceptional wear and low drag qualities. K
Get the Apollo shape as it's like the jazz 3s or get amars lol
the smallest one looks super cool
They are unbelievable
Not cheap picks but last much longer and feel much better just not a pick you throw into the crowd
I can't throw picks into crowds last 3 times I've done it I've had people ask me if I want them back.
Brother, I threw it across the room no I don't want it back
They are 2.75mm thick
dude its like comical theres no way
What currency?
pln

i lose my picks a lot too
Polish?
yes
80Pln I believe free shipping too I believe also they have some deals going right now for 10% of i believe.
It's 28 cad so I think that's 80Pln
not that bad
with free shipping
might get one for myself
i had mine for over half a year now lol
That pick is either in ass condition or you have your pick depth so hammered in that they barely wear.
If that's the case people often say they last 7 years and what not haha
I chew threw picks like all hell because I pick really deep (trying to fix this issue lol) but my jazz 3s lasted me 2 weeks maybe before they where sorta flat.
FYI, orders for this item usually takes 2 weeks turnaround for shipping. Tribute to the legend Mr. Ritchie Blackmore. My first guitar hero and one of the original masters of hard rock. I picked up my first guitar like many, because of his music. The Blackmore handcrafted boutique guitar picks can now be ordered in m
this ones kinda cool
Mine as well try it tbh it's something new and give it a fair shot it may be helpful especially for what you play...
They don't have refund policies sadly...

Wait no that was is 20mm
Where's the 24mm one
FYI, orders for this item usually takes 2 weeks turnaround for shipping. The Aias (XLS) guitar pick. Big, bold and contoured so it fits the hand like holding a baseball. This plectrum is ideal for people with wrist or joint issues requiring minimal effort holding and playing. Same advanced thermoplastic material wi
They aren't really practical unless you have really bad grip issues some people can't hold normal picks so this makes life sooo much easier.
But ya nah, I love the guys at purple they make some really beautiful and amazing picks
I would maybe turn the drums down a little in the mix
its not even a mix rn lol
its raw
That’s honestly not a bad strategy to get a rough draft for a song
You can get a feel of what needs to be tweaked before tweaking out yourself

Wan...
i finally got to making some fortin sigil captures with my nano cortex :D
if yall wanna check em out feel free to do so
i personally couldn't tell the difference between the actual amp and the capture when it switched
maybe a sliiiight roll off the high end
but thats it
Wanna give ne a nano so I can try?
sure, come over and we can jam
Nuh uh you come to the studio
Hell no
Those gotta be floppy strings
theyre aint noodles at all actually somehow
Which G did you tune to?
You may have tuned up s bit and have a really weird tuning
yea
i tuned up from f# to g
i mean it is in tune and m not having any probs
just using the 8th string for tension
rest 1 to 7 are perfect
What you mean for tension?
It's a fixed bridge right? So the tension isn't really doing much...
Either way it's fine
it doesnt create tension on fixed bridge?
It does but the additional tension kinda does nothing for you besides maybe just maybe slightly bowing the neck which you just adjust for anyways with the truss rod...
ohh
If you aren't using the string then the tension doesn't matter.
I'm just wondering what it does for you?
You said you like the tension what about it do you like?
I just can't think of anything but it may be different for you so just interested
like if i tune it down all the other strings become a bit loose if that made any sense
or maybe its just me cuz my main guitar is a floyd
so maybe m just thinking that even tho nothing is actually happening
if that made any sense
Yes that's only for floating/2 point trems...
Although if you detune one string on a floating bridge the other strings should become tighter
It does happen on a hard-tail but it's so so small it really doesn't matter...
yupp
m holding an 8 string for the first time
It's definitely a crazy feeling
very
i think i might be addicted
it feels good
Don't get a 9 string though lmao it feels like holding a skate board 🤣
A nice thin flat neck on an 8 string is bliss
9 sounds too much in itself
It is for 99.99% of everyone
Yea the ibby necks are nice my faves so far
with fanned frets if thats what we call em
yea that
m currently using all 7 properly
might as well use 8
m still confused if i should buy 8 or 7
i'm a 7 string sympathizer
7 string... baritone you can detune them enough, and most people don't use higher strings on the high E string for most stuff do detuning a little bit doesn't change much
Also just remembered adding another string only adds 5 notes...
and would you rather be practical or cool
If you don't need all the strings then not worth getting one...
I mean HLB and stuff use 6 strings and just use pitch shifters
its like i might learn 8 string stuff too if i have one but personally i havent tried any 8 string stuff cuz i dont have 8 string
Detuning only removes however many semitones you are detuning... most people don't use the high E 24th fret soooo like you really don't need it
i think 7 string baritones must be long asf
Most bands that use 8 strings are dumb and only use the 2 lowest strings lmao... like Carcosa I don't think has any songs that use the top 2 strings. Yet use 8 strings...
Nah usually same length as an 8 string or shorter...
ohh
gonna look into
that stuff
HLB isn't cool tho
Yea they are bro plays his guitar upside down
that's cause he's a lefty
Yea
that doesn't make him cool
He's not cool their music is
remember, leftys are satanic or something idk
Amar
what bout a baritone 7 string
those exist
Not a big difference still 7 strings
Just longer scale that's all that changes
What?
Here one sec
shit would go brazy
Wanna see a jazz 9 string...
disfruto tocando estos 3 estilos asi q porque no mezclarlos? espero q os guste!
i really enjoy playing these 3 music stiles, so why not mix them??
hope you enjoy!

Here's 8 string jazz
ill observe after i go get lunch
Good boy
In this video I am playing Charlie Parker's Donna Lee on an Ibanez 9 string guitar. In the first pass I am playing a bass line, in the second I overdub a chord comp, in the third I play the theme (high octave on the left with the pick, low octave on the right with the fingers) and in the fourth round I play a short solo.
I have been practicing t...
Just fully strung this guitar up for the first time.....channelling my inner Brian Kenney Fresno
So what Miles Davis on 9 strings guitar
interesting
I may have had a phase
meanwhile m just playing modern metalcore on 8
I may have tried to become a 9 string master
Not much of that
Yea, i just don't think there's much metal-core a lot of deathcore
Original composition, played on the 9 string Ibanez RG9-QM
Tuning is (low to high) B E A D G C F Bb Eb
I've been playing on 8 string for a while (search "The Plush Interior" and "Denis & Saint-Amour" if interested). All tapping, all the time! :)
The 9 string is fairly new to me, and proving to be a lot of fun, and quite comfortable.
Enjoy and sh...

yeah its not the best but it definately helps for me. Its also new and i think in the future its going to be the best way to get tabs for sure.
Best way is to go play with the musician
@lethal fractal almost got involuntary down
anyone?
Its jackson Concept dinky i got it used for a prety good price
it needs a proper setup but for now its great
how much did u get it for
its costly asf
for like 1500$
a brand new costs over 2000$ i think
it was barely used
looks and sounds like a very solid geetor
i also need an 8 string
but my budget is very tight
so ill mp buy a 7
agile used to make solid 8 strings that were pretty cheap
but i have no idea if they are still good
Do you have any sweeping runs you recommend for practice?
awesome playing btw
the sweeping run from the last solo in Blasphemian by Infant Annihilator its pretty tricky but it really elevated my sweeps
Altitudes by Jason Becker
sweep run from the first solo is also pretty fun
thanks dude, will check them out!
Anything infant annihilator has crazy sweeps
eddie is a beast
waiting for the new record
I’m just starting to learn the kingdom sitteth on drums so
I think I might’ve given my right foot severe tendinitis practicing for so long
i wish i had drums lol
oh yeah def
but i would get a electronic kit cuz i live in a flat so neighbours would be a problem
also i dont have much space in my room lol
Only problem is if you get a cheap electric kit it’s gonna be shit so I’d either get some sort of practice pad kit or get an efnote, which are $5000+
if really wanted to start playing i would prob save some money up for a decent kit
Efnote kits are awesome
let me chceck them out
Like the 730x pro is sick as fuck
why does it cost like 10000$ tho
Because it’s the best electric kit money will get you
The dwe drums are nice for like 8000
for that price i expect it be lol
do u use a virtual amp?
in the recordings no
but when not recording i use gojira x
i use gojira x as well
i need a real amp tho
i feel like i just sound so much better on a real amp idk
but dude ur sweeps are so clean, there was like no unwanted noise
i use boss katana 50
a lot of practice:))
i feel like i have a lot of unwanted noise and idk how to fix it tbh
idk if its a gain issue or a mute issue or what
prob a mute issue
linkin park no more sorrow
one of the most performances of all time
most?
Yea
Please turn down the gain a bit if you do
aight
thats a tricky one
yep, just wrote that
That looks like something archspire has
at first sight i thought it was an archspire riff lol
Yea
You're killin it bruvs 🤌
aight heres one step closer
you can try playing with a backing track of the song it will help you keep the timing right
okay I´m at my wits end. My eight string´s doing a bunch of shrieking noise, whenever I lift my finger off the string, when I try to mute the strings after picking, basically when doing pretty much anything and I cannot figure out why. Tried readjusting strings and action, tried entirely muting some of the unused strings but it aint working and before I go and potentially try to fix a grounding issue I figured I´d ask here first
Can you send a recording of those noises?
gonna do that tmrw, cant rlly rn
aight
Could be some loose winding or a loose saddle
I've had loose sadles or the string not sitting on the grove
Always possible it's coming from behind the nut as well
Ohhh wait not the 8th string your whole guitar
@errant sigil
anyone else using string joy strings?
im thinking abt trying them out
currently rockin 10-66 ernie's balls on my guitar
do the string joy's feel any differant?
ive never really tried any other string brand so i dont really know
Not that big of a difference
I just use em for custom gauges
But they’re nice, I’ve noticed my top string doesn’t break as much so they could be stronger perchance
But I also may have just gotten better at taking care of my guitar so idk
Thoughts on the Epiphone SG Prophecy Modern.
-
The Matte finish feels great, especially on the neck.
-
The neck takes a minute to get used to, but you will quickly really like it. I did!
-
While I'm not a fan of the fret spacing (personal opinion) it's honestly perfectly fine.
-
The fishmans are fucking great. While the voice change feature isn't massive, it's noticeable and really helps the guitar.
-
The frets are nice and we'll rounded to and feel great under the fingers.
-
While it's has the SG quirk about playing further forward. It's honestly easy to look past. (For me).
Final Verdict - 9/10: While it has its quirks as an SG for me, for 700 bucks, one of the best mid tier guitar I've ever played. I honestly really want to buy this thing right now.
(Tried out in November 2021)
@cyan tiger the red one is the one I tried.
epiphone sgs are so fucking underrated
oh wait what it has FISHMANS?!?!?
i need that bih now
robbing that store
Also nice
Sweet playing man
Yeeeup. The Prophecy Moderns has fishies.
They are discontinued tho sadly but I'm sure you'll find one easily used.
id get one if i had a intrest in more 6 strings
but its gonna be strandbergs only from now on
im fully comverted
they should make a strandberg dualcut tho
that would be sick!
Technically the regular Boden is a double cut.
oh true
Unless u mean an SG style double cut.
That'd be interesting to see.
forsure
what do you think about this one
i think this is their best color scheme and design
ever
so fucking sleek
Slick af.
Yea its nice
Does Strandberg do 8s? I don't think I've seen one other than Sara Longfield's.
Yes
yeah they do alot of those what 😭
Been living under a rock with Strandberg.
Don't pay attention to them that much.
I should since I've actually TRIED one.
The endur neck is nasty and I loved it.
best neck ever
I wanna twy wone 👉 👈
You should. They're rare in the US but you should.
Rarer in Canada
Well
Oof you Canadian?
In my shit city
Yea, although I'm close to the vibrato bar I bet I can try something there.
They got a 25k guitar in I wanna try
Eyy you guys are my hat.
I'm in NY lol. 3 hour drive upstate and I'm in Canada.
Canada not happy with yall
bro they are rare even in sweden so
I'm sorry NY has been a shithole good sir and everyone's going to Florida so I gotta go there. Also I like snow and the cold. Which it's fuckin BRICK here rn.
I'm assuming your in Sweden.
Just the US in general not NY specifically
Snow
Oh. Well uhh....I can't fix that. Just don't do war crimes. Yall Candians be wildin sometimes XD
Hell yes brother.
Japan......
Everywhere has done fucked up shit
Hey hey that was free game back then. There was no rules against that back then

I'll go burry my acoustic guitar
Same for some of the Canadian stuff a lot of those rules are written due to us
Yeah I know. That's why I ain't fightin' no Canadians in Winter. No sir, as bad as the Fins.
Was gonna say what about them but you got it lmao
Oh no bro. Whenever I see my friends getting picked off in DayZ screamin' "YO THESE TREES BE SPEAKIN FINNISH BRO"
They are the definition of "This is my rifle." Makes the Russians do a double take to see if rifle really is fine.
There's a competition in Finland called Finnish Brutality that I've seen Gun Jesus Ian McCollom go to and get his shit rocked.
Granted that man shoots wrong handed and likes French guns so you know.

ANYWAYS GUITARS
It would slide so well
Theres a company that makes ice instruments and do orchestral stuff
The Ice Music Festival on the Holmevatnet Islands in Norway is exactly what the name suggests: Ice music. As in, the cellos and harps and horns are made from lake ice. Yes, they work. Just listen.
It's beautiful
Some really beautiful stuff
Holy FUCK that's cool
Thankies :D
Thanks. It's currently at 90% speed, maybe I'll send a video when I get it too 100% speed... Also the song is The Migrant by Shadow of Intent
tomorrow is my birf dae, could i ask for a like and repost?
Been to miami the guitars there were pretty mediocre
But i hadnt seen all the shops
so there prob better ones
that was CLEAN
thank you ^^
im pretty proud of it considering i never play lead
im a rhythm player at heart
but
i had to learn the melody of the somg that started it all for me
and one day ill hopefully learn the whole 19 minutes
It was really good
tomorrow ima post a mini cover of chop suey and enter sandman
with the acoustic intro?
Definitely 100% soon it's great

Video from November 2024
Started working on some ideas for a future Dissordawtisms album with the microtonal (24edo) guitar, but haven't been able to work much since. Hopefully I will get back to writing soon, until then, here's a little teaser, I guess.
Happy birthday
birf dae*
chop suey (sorry it sounds bad) im going to do enter sandman later tonight

it gets kind of tiring playing the main riff with all the fast picking
how my fingers feel after playing it:
yah your fingers will get used to it with time
How long do you spend learning and practicing a song before you record yourself? There's quite a few mistakes and you're posting a new cover each day. I think if you spend a bit more time on each song, you'll have better covers and get better at any new skills in those songs.
Also you're holding the pick with thumb and middle finger most of that Chop Suey cover but it looks like you swap to thumb and index about 45 seconds in. Holding the pick with first and middle finger is certainly unconventional but it's not really wrong however I think it'd be best if you stuck to either just thumb+index or just thumb+middle for some consistency and also you won't have a delay when swapping grips.
enter sandman (i cut my finger on the guitar string at the end by accident) once i practice it more i might do a full cover
Bro please play with a metronome and intonate your guitar.
Your rythm is really off, your just building bad habits that won't let you grow as a musician/guitarist.
I’m kinda feeling unmotivated, i already play for half and year but i can’t really feel im improving, i got a talented friend who got better than me in half of the time, i used to be absolute TRASH when i started and he was already good, do anyone feel that even with a bad start i still can be a good guitarist? And do anyone have any tips?
Getting lessons are very helpful as well try to practice at least 30-60 minutes a day
Work on songs you like try and learn them
Learn skill sets that would help you achieve what you'd like as a guitarists
I JUST MADE THIS, check it out and tell me what y'all think ❤️

HEAVILY INSPIRED BY NICK DEPIRRO
Thats sweet
that's 100% useful i swear and relate
I never do it
LUL
i'm learning a lot of architects lately
after like 2 weeks without playing
it's so depressing how hard it is rn but then tomorrow i'll be playing well again lmao
Always good to work with the flow
i think i put a lot of pressure on myself sometimes (which idk if it's good or bad)
It can be useful at times and bad at others if you always are for everything you do it's not good.
Pretty cool, but change your strings if they're rusty buddy :p
ngl your right some of these i made are preatty 🗑️
ima use my metronome more
2 years i think
Fair enough, keep up some practice using a metronome practice scales, learn the notes on the fretboard... practice picking exercises much more learn maybe some easier songs my first ever song i fully learned was everlong, learn basic guitar work
yes LOL
i bought a new pack of daddario 0.10
Strandberg is overpriced af
Dont go true temperament, itll mean youre gonna be out of tune with the rest of the band if you wanna play it in a damn group format
Just find a better group
Imagine the whole band having true temperament frets lol
Wish it was a reality haha
You kinda have to but its so fucking expensivep
Find rich buddies, got it
Nah find buddies with a workshop and put them in for free
You know how much the frets are alone
Near free if you smelt them and pour your own
I only say this because I plan to attempt it once I get my forge running
Only hard thing I finding the dimensions of the frets otherwise the process is incredibly easy
And the correct alloying
Yea that's really easy
Guess what tuning this is in
C
C2, C3, C3, C3, C4
Those are the strings
I'm tempted to buy a bar of Rex 121 and make frets out of it due to its wear resistance
Whereas your 6th string
I swear my perfect pitch either works straight up or I'm tone deaf.
You played those open strings and my brain instantly was like C 0_0
Get new strings
All the strings are C🗿
Currently low on money
Theft is free 🤫
I've got no physical shop anywhere near
Fair enough
Cool. I think both Elixrs and Dadario XS strings are the best ones.
I thought dadario nyxl would be good, but they always corrode too quickly for me (which is strange because they’re a more expensive string)
I look at non coated strings they rust 0_0
It’s just that they cost the same price as the XS and more than Elixrs but they rust so quick
Yea, I'd rather spend the little extra on Elixers that will last my 6 weeks or longer where as normal strings a week tops.
Also just realised your wearing your fursuit head, looks good 🤘
Elixirs are the best ngl
Thanks, I'm really happy with it
I wish stringjoy weren't such slackers when it comes to their coated strings...
Yo i just noticed lol
really cool tho
Elixrs are awesome but I have same results with XS… I just get whatever’s cheaper at the time (if one brand is on sale or not)
Idk tried XS once and i like elixir more
I’m so pissed cause this would’ve been a decent take if I had my volume up lmao

Here's the next guitar review thing as promised.
Thoughts on the Ibanez RGA61ALIAF Axiom Label:
-
The neck is NOT my cup of tea. And playing it is awkward. However despite that, the natural finish feels nice. If I was into them I'd save up for this.
-
The Aftermaths definitely fit this guitar. Hot, tight, and have definition.
-
The paint job and satin finish are GLORIOUS to behold.
-
The frets aren't as rounded as they were on the Prophecy SG, however it's not that big of deal but I know people get anal about that stuff.
-
Fret spacing is nice. No complains.
-
Fingerboard radius to too flat. That said it was nice for solos and the guitar never got in my way.
-
The switching was a little confusing (will show in pic).
Final Verdict - 6/10 (bias) 9/10 (non-bias): I am not am fan of Ibanez in any way. That said this one is definitely one of the better ones I've played and for 1300 bucks, you can't really go wrong. This thing shreds.
(Tried out in November 2021)
And the one in the middle is the one I tried.
Definitely pretty
@cyan tiger
Of course it's fuckin purple.
And pink but we don't talk about that.
What you get?
yes.
im NOT planing to go TT, i also already know this lmao aint no way not worth it. though i dont want to or currently play in a band so
thats a beautifull guitar lmao
the fingerbóard radius is just typical ibanez shenanigans
not realy considered how unique they are / the build quality. also all guitars are overpriced that are 1000+
All of them are indo built and a lot of them have been riddled with qc problems
For that money you can get a japanese ibanez with twice the quality if not more
Suffocating sight = much pain.
Or go FGN for even cheaper
Nicee
Yea
Please put an ir loader on your signal
Just listen on a 5150

Oh hell no I just got the import cost of the single guitar pick and it's $40
Go kick rocks.
Can't show anything but me and the lead guitarist in my band are modding one of his old guitars

Then your good
I should play in class full volume

@lethal fractal come buy this guitar
By me a plane ticket and I will
Also do you guys do payment plans?
No need cuz these are done in the Us
Depends but iirc we have affirm on the us site
Oh sweet
Cool
Itll be live soon on the website
That usd?
Issue is i don't need another 6 string, I got my hard tail and trem already.
Find a 7 string trem or evertune and we are talking
Do you tour?
Are you going through different climates in a short time span?
Yes
Tour soon
Nani tf
Whomst what where
NA
Lemme bring it back further, gwhen tf did you become part of a band that is starting to tour
Just me myself and I.
Though I have friends that are always always touring that I can go around with.
I am confusion
You are trying to pick each note by the looks of it...
Go slower so you can just move the pick without changing the speed ever
No bouncy pick
Look up videos about pickslanting
Or buy a low friction pick
I’m trying to teach myself how to do it basically

No use in getting a special pick if your technique sucks
Ive taught myself everything. Go look up videos about pick slanting
Just get a pick that eliminates technique
Ill grab the shotgun then

Man you don't play grunge

My pick is slanted I just can’t figure out how to do it in a smooth motion
Start slower
Also pick depth
Only the tip should be touchy the strings
Should I use a thicker or thinner pick
0.88mm or 1.0mm imo
Did you know the doo plays like 3-4mm picks
