Guitars are expensive

Didn’t get a higher end one until recently

yea I had a couple of gios

#

I still have one of them

#

Also had a Schecter omen elite 6 that was shit on QC

Sharp frets 🤩

Fun

acoustic cobalt

Now I copped an RGAIX6MQM

Beautiful guitar

I have an Ibanez Gio, an RG 7 string, and self built flying V guitar that doesn't play half bad.

Play so need some assistance in deciding over a acoustic guitar matter

#

Have two do the exact same epiphone inspired by gibson humming birds and the guitars are about a pound difference and they both feel like two completely different guitars to play physically and tonality. Would there be a point in deciding based on ease of playing due to the weight difference and feel or the clear resonance playing em

toxic wharf

#

Guess that makes more sense

#

Hey, I’ve got a question about tuning and string tension. I always wanted to play in a low tuning but also being able to play the higher notes, architects alternate tuning really speaks to me, but I’ve only got a 6 string with a 25.5 scale and the string gauge for the lowest string is not tight enough. Should I set it up or just simply buy a 7 string ?

#

Actually don’t wanna set up my 6 string cause there’s no turning back to higher tunings. Or maybe I’ll just buy a drop pedal man I don’t know

toxic wharf
#

And if you change tunings you always need to set up your guitar unless its from standard to drop D. Than you can get away with it, but other than that a set up of the guitar is basically mandatory

prime sapphire
#

So it’s basically drop B but with a low F#

toxic wharf
#

Yeah thats in no way properly do'able on a 25.5 scale length guitar let alone a 6 string

#

Or you need a 6 string baritone

prime sapphire
#

yeah, or I’ll just get a 7 string so I could just play normal drop F# tuning and others like G or A

toxic wharf
#

Just make sure its either multiscale or 26.0/26.5 scale length when going that low

prime sapphire
#

There’s one that got my attention with 648/686 mm multiscale length

#

that would be enough I guess

Hey guys do y'all have any suggestions for an affordable guitar amp cabinet? My cap is around $300

Blackstar and Marshall has cabs in that price range for sure

MG Astray Red, RG Unicorn, MG AGE-II Normal (White Ver.), P.Bandai RG RX-93ff Nu, RG Hi-Nu, MG 00 Raiser, and P.Bandai HG Phantom

and my strikingly unimpressive Gio 7

#

there's also a Kotobukiya Ludens (Black Ver.) and two Denji lego figures there

hasty pivot
wind mauve
#

go for it! the Astray Red in the upper left corner was the first kit i put together, it's always super fun to do them

#

i would recommend an MG over an HG or RG to start, cause the bigger parts mean you can't lose them as easily and they fit together nicer

toxic wharf
# lilac compass How can I get faster on guitar ?

Practice with a metronome and find your limit of bpm. Practice on that limit and if you make mistakes go slightly lower and than up again. Its the most effective way and the way thats actually beneficial for making music. Without metronome its no use really.

I think I’m gonna get a mesa at some point because that’s what the engineer used to re amp

True

I also might get a 9 string for my bday

idk which one

Not to fond of the sound that low but a new guitar is definitely a nice present

I got a 7 string for Christmas last year

I want an 8 string but that's ad low as I'm going

granite fern
gleaming wing
#

I wouldn't complain if I had one

#

But I'm not gonna spend that much money on one when I could just downtune an 8 string 😂

toxic wharf
#

Also low interval limits is a real thing.

#

There is a point where you just cant play a chord on the lower register of a heavily downtuned guitar without it sounding shit by definition

gleaming wing
#

Yeah

#

Even with 8 strings

toxic wharf
mellow geyser
#

i apologize for the newbie question, is post-hardcore & metalcore almost always downstrokes? or should i be also focusing on practicing my upstrokes too.. i want to make my own post-hardcore & metalcore instrumentals someday..

gritty garden
#

Learn it both ways, that way if your hand gets fatigued from only doing downstrokes you can alternative pick and still carry on

gleaming wing
#

Yeah. And if you ever want to learn solos or play other styles of music, it's a good thing to know how to do.

these were my original settings prior to not getting any sound

#

these settings were fine. idk what happened but when i opened reaper after some time, it wouldnt play anymore

gritty garden
#

Wtf use the asio driver

#

Because you're going to get huge latency

#

When you're using the asio driver the audio will be sent and received from the focusrite, so you won't be able to monitor it through your PC speakers.

#

You'll need to have some speakers/headphones plugged into the focusrite to heard it

severe bluff
#

ok im trying to get better at making riffs with more single note diversity instead of just chords/powerchords

any advice or just keep trying?

gleaming wing

Definitely keep trying, but make sure you are learning your scales and different positions on the neck.

I need to get a killswitch on one of my guitars

gritty garden
wind mauve

my six string is a les Paul ThonkNik

gritty garden
#

One of the guitars where each pickup has it's own volume knob, turn one all the way down and then just use the pickup selector to mimic a killswitch

wind mauve
#

…nvm mine isn’t a good les paul with the four knob setup

gleaming wing
#

Two Ibanez and a custom built one

#

I could install a killswitch on the custom one pretty easy

#

Just a bit of soldering and whatnot

gritty garden
#

Either that, or if it's when writing a song just cut it in the DAW

wind mauve
#

^^ @hasty pivot

#

that’s your best bet unless you have a kill switch

And killswitches are great for playing live too

Yo I played my first show yesterday I’ll put in bangers if anyone wanna see

gritty garden

Props for having the guts to do a live performance, not sure which one of you but I think the timing needs working on, listening with headphones the left and right guitar tracks sounded disjointed in parts,

I think the other guitarist s because he fucked up

#

But

wind mauve

ok he's already in the big leagues if he knows to just blame the other guy

bronze orbit
#

He just joined the band 2 weeks ago

#

And the vocalist decided it’s ok you’ll figure it out OMEGALUL

gritty garden
#

It was just like you and him were playing the same parts, but like half a beat off or something from each other so it was hard to find the groove/know who was right. So just something to work on, but I'm sure you're aware of that

wind mauve

the vocalist dropping the mic by accident made me chuckle a lil

Hey guys
I have created a list with 195 songs which I want to learn on my Drop C guitar
I have asked ChatGPT to sort them by difficulty from easy (Nr.1) to hard (Nr.195)
Would someone be so kind and check if I can trust ChatGPT and start with Nr.1 and work my way up

glacial osprey
#

If something being true is very prevalent on the internet, then it's more likely to be correct on ChatGPT. But that's due to frequency

toxic wharf

Maybe its just me but I also dont really get why you would wanna learn that many songs...especially within just 1 very specific genre

#

It was before he added it to used inventory

toxic wharf
#

Also the pick ups are great and the multiscale trem system actually works

Since I dont go any lower than drop A the scale length is not too big of an issue though Inwould have preferred a 26.5 bass side

Against a 25.5

glacial osprey

You can see 2 kaizens above one of those majesty in pics I sent. The feel is interesting. Just can't get behind some of the spec/hardware choices

prime sapphire
#

Yo guys, I recognized I have string buzzing from the 1th to maybe 8th fret. My neck looks straight tho and there’s enough space between the fretboard and the string. I once also brought it to guitar center and they did a total set up from cleaning, to new strings and adjusting. How can I fix this ?

toxic wharf
#

Neck needs to have a bit of a bow though. Otherwise your action is too low @prime sapphire

#

You can check with a feeler gauge on the 8th fret. It might even be that your neck has too much relief if the buzz is on the lower frets, but a little bit of buzz is fine/normal

balmy vortex
#

could also be a bad nut slot

prime sapphire
#

yeah, my guitar is pretty cheap, so I think the problem is the product itself

severe bluff
#

i played a 7 string for the first time, didn't buy it cus i need to save money at the moment but i now need one at some point

#

i like 7 strings they do the chug

gritty garden
#

If it's doing it on all frets then like Don said, sounds like the neck relief needs adjusting. I'd always be cautious of getting the staff at a music shop to do it because I don't know how much guitar tech stuff they know. Take it to a proper luthier if you can

granite fern
lethal fractal
#

Not sure if anyone has any good scale practice lessons or something like that for an 8 string guitar I want to have a stronger practice routine but hard to get stuff.

toxic wharf
#

You mean shapes? Than no. My philosophy on 'practicing' scales is that it should be about figuring out the intervals yourself based on the scale formula and not too much on shapes.

#

I think on an 8 string the only problem is maybe the low f# since a normal tuned 6 string already has a B string.

#

If you wanna learn shapes my advice would be to treat the F# just seperately if you got the scale on a 7 string and 6 string down it should be easy enough. Its the same how I approach a drop tuned guitar

lethal fractal
#

I don't use shapes well I do but they are based on just the intervals... I just want some print out though that flows that I can use to practice, yes I could spend the time figuring it all out and writing them out myself just been lazy, same with arpeggios and string set triads... I'll probably just work it out with my guitar teacher later on.

#

I always have the F# dropped to E sometimes will have the B dropped to A so figuring out the 5 scales and how they can connect for those two tunings would be what I need to do then can work on the other stuff.

#

Not sure if that makes sense or what not...

toxic wharf
verbal fossil
#

prompts does this but on a 7 string lmao

#

so drop A on 6 strings then a low E

lethal fractal
#

E A E A D G B E is a lot of fun, Archspire uses it as well a good bit.

I have also played around with D A E A D G B E starts getting interesting with the two 5ths you can chug away

#

If we want to talk about weird looking tunings, I'm currently learning a song that's tuned to G Bb F Bb Eb G C it looks super strange but isn't all that weird.

verbal fossil

that is weird

it's basicaly the low 3 strings of drop F# and the high 4 strings of D# standard

#

Having a wide range of knowledge in instruments and styles, especially being classically taught really can help with your musical ability.

lethal fractal
#

It sure can, music theory is also amazing and jazz cord theory and all of that has been really really useful for me. #

I'm going to share some tabs for a song I'm learning once I have taken photos of them... It's going to be a lot of metronome work.

As well the tab has a thing that says <5.8> and I have absolutely no fucking clue what in the world that means.

glacial osprey
lethal fractal

is that all it is? Screw being that accurate some guitarists are nuts.

glacial osprey

lethal fractal
#

Alright, that's such a strange way of writing that or I'm just not smart enough...

gleaming wing
#

I'm so bad at sight reading 😂

lethal fractal
#

Let me take photos

glacial osprey
#

2.3 is a common harmonic

lethal fractal
#

This is also confusing me

#

What's the symbol between the 2.7 and 3.2 and what not

lethal fractal
glacial osprey
#

Think it's just overlapping <> <> just weird rendering on page

lethal fractal
#

This is why second hand opinions are nice you're probably right and I'm just here overthinking and stressing trying to figure out if it's some secret code

glacial osprey
#

The fractional values makes it squeeze together in that limited space

lethal fractal
#

Ya seems about right

glacial osprey
#

Natural harmonics have to do with the harmonic series. Physics stuff. Just has to do with dividing the string evenly to create different wave forms

#

12, 7, and 5 most common because they're simple to find. Dividing by 2, 3, 4 respectively

lethal fractal
#

Yes, the frets aren't always the perfect spot for how it's divided but can be close, I have never seen tabs being that technical though kinda neat.

glacial osprey
#

GP tries to approximate the real location. Think hand written tabs usually will just say <6> but guitar pro will auto-correct it to 5.8

#

5.8 is the second node if divided by 7ths

lethal fractal
glacial osprey
#

Funny enough, I think 3.2 may be equal to 5.8 if I'm reading a chart correctly

#

Just depends on convenience for finger placement

lethal fractal
#

Yep, I like how you're knowledgeable and aren't like me and get caught up overcomplicating basic obvious things just because they seem too obvious.

glacial osprey
#

Been playing 16 years. Not super well despite those years. Super lazy. But I also had like 2 semesters of music in college before I switched to Computer Science. I just geeked out on guitar stuff in the downtime

lethal fractal
#

Been playing longer then I have been alive 😅

That's awesome though, you seem fun to just sit down with and nerd out about computers and guitars... Probably would turn into a conversation like an andrew huang video.

glacial osprey
#

Nah. Just know enough to chime in on things occasionally

Ya ya... I bet it would be a great chat. Thanks though for chiming in, helps my brain not go insane figuring out that song as it's already complex enough for the picking hand at least.

Would it be a good investment to get a noise gate pedal? If so does anyone have any recommendations the most I'm willing to spend is $200 Though would most prefer something around $100

bronze orbit

So I got this DT whammy mostly for the alien noises but what’s the difference between that one and this one

#

Don’t they both tune up and down

wind mauve
#

it looks like one has more settings

verbal fossil
#

one has the drop petal + the original whammy

#

the one that has the expression pedal on the middle has what the 1st one has, on it's left and on it's right it's the drop pedal

and you can combine the effects of both sides

toxic wharf
#

I want to buy a schecter as my first guitar

graceful socket
# bronze orbit Don’t they both tune up and down

They both tune up and down but in different intervals. The DT has a pitchshifter going up and down 8 semitones whereas the whammy only has select shift settings. If you want to use it to change tunings all the time you´re probably better off witth the DT, if it´s just alien noises the pure Whammy should do it

#

I dont know where the price is at but the DT is definetly worth it. The pitchshifter is insane and is literally my greatest blessing.

verbal fossil
#

actually it's 7 semi tones + octave and otave + dry

for the pitchshifter side

and as for the price it cost me like 170€ 2 years ago

still well above the price range i was going for before

I want to buy a Abasi Concepts but Im sure its gonna be sold out the minute a new batch is places online

#

And than I would be tempted for a Kaizen, but thats quite some money as well

wind mauve
#

when i'm rich and famous

#

i'll consider an abasi concepts

toxic wharf
#

I dont know...those things go so fast...might as well just spend all your savings if you want one and can snatch one

#

Last batch I got an email....I was refreshing the site..all extended range Abasi Larada's sold out

#

And I already have really good 6 strings and just an alright 7 string...Im eager to upgrade that 7 string

wind mauve
#

i mean if i get an abasi it's gonna be an eight string

#

might as well go big or go home right

toxic wharf
#

Yeah, Im just not a big fan of 8 strings. Finding a band is a pain and most of the time people playing those things their tone sounds shit

#

Especially in a bandsetting. I had an Ibanez 8 string and sold it

#

So if I spend that amount its not gonna be that

wind mauve
#

i mean rn im not in a band i'm just playing for fun i guess

#

i have a six and seven, and i'd like to be able to play eight string songs, as well as have one

#

my other option would be that newer Ibanez one, the silver one with the fishman pickups that's also $1200

#

but i think i'd still have to look at the RGD71ALMS or the QX527

#

more interested in a better seven than a new eight

toxic wharf
#

The ALMS is very good

#

As long as you dont care about split coil

wind mauve
#

i mean it has fishmans and i know i like fishmans cause i've played guitars that have them

toxic wharf
#

I dont get why Ibanez put the full range of the tonal properties of the Fishmans to the 8 string but not on the 7 string by not giving it split coil

#

Its such a stupid unecessary decision. I might have bought the ALMS if it did have split coil

wind mauve
#

i'm more looking at the QX527 anyways

toxic wharf
wind mauve
#

i know it's not extended range

toxic wharf
#

They have a 7 string variant but not multiscale

wind mauve
#

but i was showing my guitar teacher and he said "if you want the headless one but it can't be tuned to drop satan, then just don't tune it to drop satan"

#

which is pretty true

toxic wharf
#

And only 25.5 scale length lol

toxic wharf
#

I went back to standard tuning on most guitars anyway

#

But still its nice to have some extra tension on the low B imo

Can i use an audio interface without the use of an amplifier?

toxic wharf

Theres some free stuff out there thats pretty decent.

#

Than you can plug in your guitar into your audio interface, start up the amp sim and just jam. You can also use it in your audio recording software.

#

And if you wanna spend some money, I'd say Neural DSP is very good. Also Amplitube 5 is considered very good

eternal yew
#

And when it comes to recording, does my reaper software compatible for the audio interface too right?

gritty garden
# eternal yew Alright ty also since if i ever use the amp sim, does it also register to my com...

Yes and no, when you're using an Audio Interface with a DAW you have to select the ASIO Driver for your AI. If you're on a Windows machine what this means is your computer audio will be outputting to the Audio Inferace so you'll need your speakers plugged into that.

If you're just using the Amp Sim on it's own I think it just comes through your normal PC Speakers. - don't quote me on this last part though as I've not used an amp sim independently outside of a DAW.

Anyone have advice on what this issue could be?
my pick ups on my active pick up guitar will randomly be picking up lots of white noise and my passive pick ups come up extremely thin. Could it be a scarlet/audio interface issue or a cable issue?

glacial osprey

Best guess is you're either using a speaker cable instead of instrument cable by accident, or there's a weird issue with the input gain on your interface

serene vortex

So.... my buddy got a guitar today. He has two "dead" frets.... 4 on D and 5 on high E... what is the problem here? How can this be fixed?

acoustic cobalt
#

Take to a shop 💀

#

Or raise the action

#

Raise action before shop 💀💀

toxic wharf
#

Depending on the situation, raising the action might help, but if the action isnt that all too low, you might need a truss rodd adjustment. The dead frets are a bit on a weird spot tbh. The neck could also be slightly warped.

gritty garden
#

Also, it's possible if it's just those to frets on different strings for the frets to not be fully seated and just need a bit of a tap.

Either way if they're not confident with it, then take it to a luthier/tech

lethal fractal
#

I'm super confused... This is my first time having active pickups so I don't know if this is normal, it seems like when I have the pickup selector set to the neck pickup my bridge pickup will be picking up when my phone is close to it but not when it's close to the neck pickup and when set to the bridge pickup it does the opposite I the neck would pick-up interference but not the bridge. Not sure if this is normal or if it got wired backwards.

#

As well when set to the neck it is much more crunchy and when set to the bridge pickup it has a lot of bass and not so much of the high end or middle.

#

Which I thought the opposite was supposed to happen so I'm just curious if they are backwards

eternal yew
#

Btw does the alan wrench lowers the action of the guitar right?

#

I have a problem with 3 of my final strings since they are a bit higher so idk if the wrench can work

#

So this one is only for the alignment of the neck?

lethal fractal
eternal yew
#

Wait so it must be smaller?

#

Wait what does it look like tho?

lethal fractal
#

The two small screws on the saddles of the bridge you lower or raise those for action... you might need to check your neck out as well, possibly even your nut depending on where it's high and a bunch of other things.

#

The wrench might fit your trust rod and would be used for that, though if it's not all the string then could be something with the saddle heights.

eternal yew
lethal fractal
#

The job for that is to tighten or loosen a screw, if it fits in your trust rod then you can use it for that purpose if it doesn't fit then you will need to find one that fits.

eternal yew
#

I think it will fit

#

I think this is where it should be use right?

lethal fractal
#

Though from the sounds of it you aren't trying to adjust your neck so it's probably the saddles that need adjustment.

#

Ohh so there is a screw for the saddles?

lethal fractal
lethal fractal
eternal yew
#

I mean is there a tool for this yes? Or could a screw driver can do the woek for this?

lethal fractal
#

Yes there is a tool for the different sized and shaped screws your guitar has, there isn't a special Hex key though specifically made for your guitar as long as it fits it will work.

eternal yew
#

This is where the adjustment will happen right?

#

Sorry for the dirty look lmao im bout to clean this soon

Does anyone have any recommendations for a first guitar kinda between a epiphone sg or schecter c1 platinum

Idk if should go with something from Ibanez instead or just one of those 2

wind mauve
#

and if it's the latter, can you play them at the store?

gusty ember
#

I can but like ahhhh I overthink a ton and idk a ton about the feel of the guitar

#

They’re both around the same price I think

wind mauve
#

play them both and pick the one you like more

#

looking at them both, i would say that the schecter might be more your style if you're trying to play some heavy metal

#

but the schecter website tells me literally nothing about what it actually does

#

these aren't specs you muppets tell me what the pickups are and the scale length

gusty ember
#

I like heavy and numetal and rock but I also like a lot of other stuff

#

Shoegaze but I know that’s more pedal and other stuff

wind mauve
#

if you live in california the schecter will give you cancer but if you don't you'll be fine

gusty ember
#

Hmm I do

wind mauve
#

neat

#

well if they're around the same price i would say to go with the schecter

#

it does have active pickups which at some point will require i believe a battery swap

#

but the benfit is it'll sound a lot cleaner

#

also a higher scale length than the RG (assuming i'm looking at the right one, which is likely) but only by a very slight amount

gusty ember

Idk

wind mauve

go for the schecter

#

it looks cooler, has a bigger scale length (barely but it counts), has what appear to be better pickups

#

trust

wind mauve
wind mauve
#

yeah the complaints on the pickups in the SG's reviews are all very similar

#

saying that they sound muddy and notes will blend together, especially if you play open and then around the 12th fret

#

which is common in a lot of modern metal - for example, crystal lake's "aeon" opens with a riff consisting of mainly 0's and 12's with some 11's and 13's thrown in

#

so i say get the schecter

gusty ember

I need some new ones been wanting to get the hd600 for so long might pick them up maybe

gusty ember
#

I was wondering should I get my guitar setup at a shop or is it fine?

wind mauve
#

it’s most likely fine

#

if it’s fresh out the box and you’re in standard tuning then you won’t have to worry about setup for a long while

#

for example, the next guitar i’m looking at i want a setup to ensure

  • the pickups are working properly
  • the heavier strings i want are applied
  • the guitar is down tuned
  • the action is lowered to account for the downtuning, and the guitar is intonated properly

in that order

#

like i said in your case, you're good out of the box, so just enjoy

#

for example, the next guitar i’m looking at i want a setup to ensure

  • the pickups are working properly
  • the heavier strings i want are applied
  • the guitar is down tuned
  • the action is lowered to account for the downtuning, and the guitar is intonated properly

in that order

#

i kinda wanna get the tiny 5150 just for the meme its like $30

gritty garden
wind mauve
#

i mean yeah i know they'd sound terrible and be a novelty but its mostly for the novelty that i want one

gritty garden
#

Good room decorations though

wind mauve
#

i figure they can go next to my gundam collection

#

once i finally get my grubby paws on the linkin park gundam it can sit on the mini amp

Hey lads, anyone have any experience with solar guitars? Looking to get a new 7 string with an evertune and Fishman pickups, and they seem to tick all the boxes

bronze orbit
#

The one I just got

toxic wharf
#

I dont have any experience, but would like to know about Solar guitars as well

bronze orbit
#

It ain’t a solar tho it’s a ibanez

toxic wharf
#

Yeah the RGD71ALMS

#

Its good, I tried it

bronze orbit
#

But it sounds amazing and has the locking tuners

#

Which is good cause I really only play in drop A

#

Also those strings are thicc I got calluses again

edgy widget
#

its delibrate

slender flower

That guitar is definitely sick af. I just really want to try an evertune though after only playing guitars less than $500 hahaha

Ibanez is the only brand I enjoy rn

#

2 guitars that just feel perfect for me

#

That’s my 6 string

#

My schecter demon 7 sounds muddy for some reason even when I changed the strings and battery for the pickups it was used so maybe that’s why but idk for recording at least it sounds muddy but through a real amp it sounds better

verbal fossil
#

Tbh i tested Ibanez LTD and Solar and rn the best fit for me is solar

bronze orbit
#

Everyone got there own

#

I thought I was gonna like Jackson a lot and look where it is now

#

Pretty much a prop at this point

#

so far i’m a big ibanez guy myself

#

started with an epiphone, got an ibanez 7 as my second guitar, my third is also going to be an ibanez 7

#

it just speaks to me

#

Quad Cortex prices have globally decreased

#

They are no longer 'forced' to buy components from resellers they state.

#

Perhaps demand has also significantly lessened

gritty garden
#

I bought mine before the increase so it's just gone back down to what it was

#

Actually, it's now £100 cheaper, but I still didn't get it at it's highest price.

toxic wharf
#

But they are almost ready to implement the plugins into the device sp thats gonna be cool

gritty garden
toxic wharf
#

Oof...nice. they gonna need something juicy with the Fender Tone Master Pro just being released

gritty garden
#

I think it's the Plini X

toxic wharf
toxic wharf
#

Sweet! Wonder if its also gonna be an update of the overall sound of the plugin. Its my favorite but a bit dated compared to some others

wind mauve
#

personally i would shit bricks and then drop a band

gritty garden
#

Haha

wind mauve
#

58 minutes till it’s announced

toxic wharf
#

Lowkey hope its a new amp or something for the Plini plugin.

#

But I did read somewhere that theres an archetype Devin in the pipeline so could be that.

#

Even though his sound is very easily achieveable with the Petrucci plug in.

wind mauve
#

aside from archetype lil Wayne

#

i don’t know why that’s the recurring gag on everything they post

#

but it is

toxic wharf
#

Its a guitarist meme. And once guitarists find something that works for a moment, they will repeat the living sh*t out of it.

wind mauve
#

that’s true

bronze orbit
#

I’m gonna try learning metamorph by Oceans Ate Alaska when I get home since I got the same guitar

gritty garden
toxic wharf
#

So just Archetype Tim Henson mixed with Cory Wong.

#

Y tho.

#

Well and Plini

bronze orbit
#

I guess I can start using 12 gauges

#

That’s what comes standard on the RGD71ALMS

#

And I can definitely hear the tone difference and it just feels better honestly

wind mauve
#

like genuinely

#

who is that

#

it’s fine i didn’t even want a devin townsend amp anyways

#

🥹

toxic wharf
# wind mauve who is that

A great guitarplayer, but at the same time he doesnt have a stand out tone like Cory Wong, Plini, Petrucci, Tom Morrello, Devin and the likes.

#

I also didnt understand why they gave Rabea an archetype, but I guess anything to remain relevant for the kids.

wind mauve
#

i’m “the kids”, i have no idea who this guy is

#

oh god i’m turning 20 in three months am i really “the kids” anymore

toxic wharf
#

Whut...you are!

wind mauve
#

no im gettin old

#

it’s only a matter of time

toxic wharf
toxic wharf
#

Really? It sounds very good to me, but nothing that Archetype Plini, Henson or Petrucci probably couldnt cover.

wind mauve
#

and that’s why it’s mid lol

toxic wharf
#

Might be worth a buy if the sim sounds actually better than those, so maybe going for a free trial.

#

But Petrucci has more in the box.

wind mauve
#

imagine what you coulda done with a heavy devy amp

#

strapping young lad’s tones from the Alien album on a drop tuned 7

graceful socket
#

alright, can somebody help me? I for the life of me cant figure out how to get a good thall bend. I just cant get it to sound right....

wind mauve
#

cause you don't got a pitch shifter

graceful socket
#

I do but seemingly I´m too stupid to figure out how to shift exactly for the wanted result

wind mauve
#

oh

#

idk then

graceful socket
#

Played around a bit with different settings but I think it should be the octave shift + a bend, maybe my tone is just ass, idk

wind mauve
#

whats ur tone

bronze orbit
#

Damn royal beggars is a sick riff simple yet effective

bronze orbit
#

Well now I can play animals and Royal beggar’s pretty good but need to work on doomsday

#

I can play it just not very good lol

bronze orbit
#

Anyone ever press record then immediately fuck up what they already know 😂

#

Super frustrating
