if you level up a profession your energy is put to max the next day regardless of when you go to bed. watch for the level up (need UI enhancement suite mod for this) and if you see it, stay up as late as possible.
speedgro from community bundle's spring crops. that will get you a third harvest on some of your strawberries.
Spring 1 - clear farm a bit, spend most of your money on parsnip seeds (buy 1 green bean and 1 cauliflower too). leave like, 25g for trainer fishing pole. plant all seeds. chop down trees for wood but dont hit the stump unless its in the way (energy per wood is shit). forage as much as possible. not much else you can do
Spring 2 – First fishing pole quest. (Willy sends letter in mail to go to beach) - water crops and start fishing immediately. mountain lake is a good easy spot for fishing.
Spring 5 – Mines become accessible (Northeast of Mountains Area)
Spring 6 - Final day to get the bulk of your crops in the ground so you can sell them before the egg festaval. Do kale or potatoes. I prefer kale. slightly less farming EXP but it takes less seeds to get your money so you spend less energy watering shit in the morning.
Spring 13 - egg festival - all shops are closed. you need all your money available the day before or in the bin to be sold so you can buy your strawberry seeds.
Spring 15-18 – Salmonberry Season (harvestable bushes everywhere) - harvest the shit out of them for food. more energy = more stuff you can do that day.
Every Sunday – Watch TV to get Cooking Recipe
Every Friday/Sunday – Traveling Saleslady appears (Near Southwest Lake)
optimal goals for spring 1 for the farm you end up keeping -
~65+ quality sprinklers by the end of spring. - auto waters 520 crops
----requires 42k gold for blueberries if you want to take full advantage of those.
----BUT......... you should plan your farm so you have as many hops as possible without wasting squares. hops is pure profit and the seeds are cheap af.
~oak trees in a corner of your farm with tappers on them for oak resin. need those for kegs. kegs increase profits a LOT. aim for 5 to 10 tappers
~40k+ gold liquid for summer seeds
~steel axe/pickaxe. hoe/watering can upgraded at least once.
~ foraging needs to hit level 6 early summer for lightning rods

UI info suite - QoL enhancements to the game. super important.
heartbeat - gives an audible warning when you get to low health.
range highlight - UI one does this too but one of them isnt fully accurate. it gives you 2 overlays for ranges for things like bombs, sprinklers, scarecrows
mod config menu - needed for heartbeat
OPTIONAL MODS
**villager outfits - just makes them change their fucking clothes sometimes. summer attire... gives them hats when its snowing and shit. they deserve to be comfortable.
automatic gates - just opens/closes gates when you get near them. its helpful when you are on a horse.
better artisan goods icons - really not needed... but the icons for a lot of things are the same but they have different names so you cant tell them apart. this fixes that.
dynamic night time - just changes the lighting a bit for the day/night cycle.
imaged - required for outfits
NoFenceDecay - fences break too fucking much.
there are some that are straight up cheating with no way to justify it... but sometimes you just get so fucked over by RNG that it's necessary. like the time i had a meteor land blocking my fam exit.
honestly though, what your goals are is very important. if you are looking to maximize year 1 profits and fuck everythign else.... well it's going to be a different strat than maximizing year 2 profits. for year 2 profits you have to farm some ancient seeds, buy all you can from the travelling merchant, and get them in the ground ASAP even if it will only net you a few extra seeds by the time it starts producing fruit.

also, i made a script that automatically backs up my save files at the start of every new day... then if you realize you fucked something up you can go back to whatever day allows you to fix the mistake... saves a lot of time over a full restart because you planted something a day late.

This is first ever playthrough so I'm kinda just learning everything still
I'm coming to the end of my first year, deffo have not been as efficient as I could be and haven't maxed money buttt have had a lot of fun and learnt a lot
I'm probably gonna keep this save as a slow run and just have fun w it
If I start another run I'll turn it into a "I want to be as efficient as possible lmao

thats like me with pokemon, ever since i found out how EVS and IVS work i always try to get my team to have the highest stats possible
even though it really isnt needed unless you do online battles

yea... i made a decent 1500 team but didnt really care about pvp so much. even with the right pokemon it seems luck based. there is only so much you can prepare for.

Yeah, you can help as much as possible with items, stats moves blah blah blah
But if the opponent gets a crit or you miss it cam change the entire battle
Not to mention you literally cannot prepare to face an unknown team
Luckily with stardew there is none of that 🤣
I'm thinking once I progress a lot in my current farm I'll start a new farm where I fucking tryhard the shit out of it lmao
