If you hold a cart and go into screenshot mode you get shoved into the cart. Then when you exit you're exactly where you were standing, leading to some interesting sights.

Simply define the height and width to be just 1 pixel bigger than the dig site bounds and the rest will be simple to mark :)

and I was making the auto repair circuit try to work vertically.

Correct, the NPC's will reset on each loading up of any save.
