You should totally play story mode before getting into online, the beauty of Read Dead is really the story telling and the world and it's music, Gameplay is quite decent aswell.

Online is quite fun in my opinion, I would say it's better with friends tho. But you must be aware that it's a game abandoned by Rockstar's, don't expect much from them in terms of supporting the game.

There are a bunch of ways you can get gold! So first, daily challenges will get you 0.1 gold per challenge, and will only increase the longer you keep your daily challenge streak going. You can also get gold from doing the events, like the Fishing Events, Animal Tagging, Fool’s Gold, etc. Bounties will also get you some gold, but you either need the bounty hunter role or you need someone with the role to invite you to bounties with them. You can find gold in treasure maps too, usually around one whole bar per map. You can get these treasure maps from the postman/lockbox at your camp, or you can randomly pick it up from dead NPCs. RDO also offers a one time special which is 25 gold bards for $5 real life money, which is totally your own digression whether you want to spend money on in game currency. After that $5 though, buying gold is not really worth it.

When I first started, I bought the $5 pack to get me my first role and a half. My first role was the trader role, but if you’re looking to make a lot of money, I would go with the Collector role. Kinda boring sometimes, but it’s lucrative and a work-at-your-own-pace role. You might also have some free stuff depending on which version of the game you got, so check the catalog in the guns and horses departments for anything that says $0!

With the Collector role specifically, at Rank 5 you will get the Provisions Satchel upgrade and at Rank 15 you will get the Valuables Satchel upgrade. Valuables are the items that can be sold to a Fence; such as gold watches, some jewelry, etc. Some of these items can also be used in crafting as well.

Unfortunately, if you open the “Benefits” tab in the start menu and look closely at the coupon, it will tell you that the coupon is only good for Novice and Promising Bounty Hunter items. This means any item from Level 1-9 of the Bounty Hunter role. You can see this by going to the start menu, “Progress”, “Roles”, then “Bounty Hunter” and at the top, it will tell you which section is Novice, Promising, Established, Distinguished, Veteran, or Prestigious. Basically, it’s only good for the Bounty Hunter items you unlock at the beginning of the role.

Collector Role! Even if you don’t have the collector role, you can still find collectibles until you make enough gold to sell them. You can go online and look up “Collector Role RDO spots” and there’s a map that shows you all the collectibles for that day. It is the fastest and easiest way to earn money in RDO. Even just picking a certain flower and selling it will get you like $7.25, which adds up fast when you’re collecting a bunch of items. Some items go for upwards of $15 dollars!

Dire noob question. Just got out of the online tutorial and went into St Denis to do some gearing. Then when i tried to find a pvp game, the system asked " "are you sure you want to join a red dead online session?" Wasnt i already in an online session? i was playing my online character, not arthur.

Where was i if i wasnt already in a free roam? if i join a free roam, how do i get back to that place and do i even want to? I appear to be the only one on the player list.

Now i tried using the escape menu, selecting "online" from the red stripe menu, and picking the "Free Roam" tile. I zoned into an apparently new map, but im still the only player on the list. I do not understand where I am and where the other players are.

Is someone able to help me with my install? It's doing something a bit strange. I'm downloading through the rockstar launcher, it's stopping at ~119.17/119.36 GB. Less than a quarter of a gb remaining lol. It'll give me a retry button after a while, did that a couple of times, same issue. Killed the launcher, ran the launcherpatcher.exe and tried again, same thing.

Anything I can try next? Would prefer to not have to restart the install. Monthly data caps. Big game.

Hey everyone. I have an issue with the game being stuck in loading screen forever. ( online & story ). The online mode will continuously show images whilst the story mode will end in a black screen with just the revolver bullet case turning in the bottom right, additionally the sound of the game will go away aswell after the images dissappear. I have played this game before 2-ish years ago and I remember the issue being my motherboard ( Gygabite X470 aorus gaming ultra ). I had to put the BIOS on F40 for it to work and it did. Currently it is at F50 (not the latest BIOS ). Is there a later version that will fix these issues, or would downgrading it to F40 again be the only solution?

RDR/GTA has never worked well with WARP, whether you're using WARP or 1.1.1.1. If you need to use a VPN for whatever reason, more "typical" ones seem to work fine, like Nord or Express.

Since it's P2P, you can't really add an IP as an exemption since you'll never know the IP of the person you're connecting to.

No, they’re all platform specific. Even if you log in to the same social club account, your progress will not carry over

Only exception is Steam, Epic and R* Launcher, because they’re all PC so that will carry over. But you can’t go PC to console or console to PC or even console to console.

Uninstall it on steam and install it from rockstar, then run it from the rockstar launcher. You can’t use two accounts with the same install.
