pc controls are more confusing than say console, however if you click around theyre generally the same layout as most pc games

HOWEVER--in my experience playing pc i have needed to ask the internet what button does the thing i want to do. because it can get confusing.

yes, you would have to delete your character, but I wouldn't do it unless you're wanting to swap genders, thats the only reason I would deem valid. If you want your character to look different you can just use the change appearance in the player menu>online options.

Ultimately its up to you, but you can't really "screw up" playing online. Sure there's a few tips and tricks to know but that's just learning the game. Just keep in mind deleting your character resets & removes everything. I believe the only thing you keep is your cash & gold balance.

yes, there's also a bug where player horses will stick around in-game after the player has loaded into a mission or new lobby. or you'll see dead player horses sometimes, again just another bug. 😀

I wanted to ask a question regarding the stranger missions online. In my posse everytime I start one it kicks my members out and changes their session. I started to think maybe they could only be done solo, but then I looked it up and it said they could be done both solo or with a posse. Is it something I did? Or is it wrong that you can do them with a posse?

it happens with or without a posse. the issue with the bug is that when you're in a posse, the disconnect makes the game think you abandoned the mission & cancels it for everyone.

fish are only the most likely to bite at the bait that catches them. ex, lookat the worms and what kind of fishes it says it catches. THOSE are the fish youre most likely to snatch up. food baits like worm, cheese, bread etc usually catch smaller fish... lures catch bigger ones.

I just started playing RDO on PC and it keeps throwing me into glitched sessions with problems like not being able to summon my horse and having no NPCs around

I did some research and apparently it is caused by modders, and using the startup.meta file can fix this by creating my own private lobby

Now my question is, what if I want to play in a public lobby and meet some people? Are there any other solutions than creating private lobbies, or are there perhaps shared private lobbies out there?

you can't just disable the mods unfortunately

you have to revert the game files to their vanilla state

what I did is I put them in a different folder, named "rdr2 mods", then I verified the gamefiles through Steam.

Although, you may have to delete the Red Dead Redemption 2 folder entirely and reinstall the game to revert the gamefiles. I'm not sure about that part.

Whichever copy of the game files that is named "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be the one that Steam or R* Launcher uses.

Also you’ll have the option of attacking other people selling their trader wagons if their near you but don’t do it

Hmm, do you have a different treasure active at the time? Perhaps check if you got all of them.

Because if it was just the arrowheads, it might be due to you not having a metal detector/shovel to dig up said arrowheads. But since you said it's the same persistent issue with all maps, it might be because you have one active.

Other thing I'd suggest is not using the collector's maps Madam Nazar gives you entirely and just use a third-party collector's map I always use on collection runs. This one shows all the collectors items and you can cross them off as you go.

Since I got trader role I notice almost every time I log into a session, no matter where I am on the map there will be some kind of gunfight going on near my camp, and if I accidentally ride near the area I’ll find myself caught up in the middle of it, with a prompt to ‘protect the camp.’ I’m rubbish in fights so I’ll end up dying then on respawn I’ll get a mission failed notification because ‘the travellers died.’ I just want to chill and do my thing, not dealing with other people’s messes 🙄

NPC attacks are common on Trader missions, you'll have to kill them, or do your Wagon missions with friends/posse so they can help you shoot people up

Camp attacks also exist, keep your camp white flag raised up

Slow & Steady is one of the best ability cards and it has nothing to so with shooting/aim which deadeye is often associated with.

Its basically a huge damage reduction button.
