Hey y’all, I’ve been having some issues with RDR2 and Online lagging and stuttering. I’ve had this game for a couple of years and played almost 400 hours and it’s been fine up until recently. I’ve had the game on ultra/high graphics since I’ve gotten it, so I don’t necessarily think that’s the issue however I have tried putting all the graphics settings on low which made no difference.
I’ve used CCleaner to clean out my computer, set the page file to 16384 as I saw someone recommend that on steam, uninstalled all of my other games, ended unnecessary tasks that were open, and as I mentioned earlier tried setting all of my graphics to low.
Occasionally my game will fix itself and run fine, however if I get off and get back on later it’ll go back to lagging and stuttering.
Nothing I’ve done has made a difference and I’m really hoping one of you may have some advice. 🥲

Hello guys, for the past few months I have been unable to play RDR2 online becasue roaming/random NPC's dont spawn. Meaning, i cannot fish or hunt or really do much other than collect tarot cards. Vendors work such as the butcher and madame nazar, but no animals spawn, no random npc people, wagons dont have drivers. does anyone know a way for me to fix this? I play on PC through steam and I have already tried verifying files, uninstalling and reinstalling, and joining friends sessions. nothing seems to have worked so far. I'd greatly appreciate some help if anyone recognizes this issue and knows how to fix it. Thank You!

What is the fastest way to get gold?

the most consistent way is bounty hunting, go after legendary bounties whenever you can (theres a cooldown either 30min or 48min im not sure)

if you dont have bounty hunter role then you can do blood money missions, setting up rockstar 2fa might give you 10 gold bars but im not sure on that either and every 5 levels starting at level 10 you get a treasure chest map that will contain anywhere from about 1-2 gold bars

also dont forget to do daily mission streaks as after 28 days you get another treasure map and on day 21 you get 0.25 gold bars per daily challenge you do

oh also do the story missions if you havent

do story missions and blood money missions
you also get a treasure chest every 5 levels starting at level 10 and doing daily missions can earn you a bit of gold also

save up for 15 gold and buy bounty hunter role (bounty hunter is the only role that gives you more gold)
then buy collector role and then trader role

dont neglect ability cards btw they are pretty useful once you upgrade them

Did you just start rdo? If so, you can get free gold bars really easily. One way is by enabling 2fa on your rockstar account, that will give you 10 gold bars I think, then do the story missions, they will give you a lot of gold at the end. There are more easy ways to get gold just search on youtube.

Keep trying for the story missions, you'll want to finish them eventually. But in the meantime, you can do stranger missions and daily challenges to save up for a Role and start gaining levels to unlock better stuff.

if you want to go fully online, move the startup.meta file from your data folder to the desktop so you can keep it, especially if you use it to play with friends. that way you don't lose the password.

i closed rdo and re-opened the game again and it was fixed for me, if that doesn't work for you then i'm not too sure, you could try restarting your pc again, but if that doesn't work either then i hope that someone else is able to provide a fix for you

it should 100% fix the isssue w your horse not spawning. but like i said if you prefer playing online (because startup.meta puts you in a private lobby), youre gonna have to clear the cache files in your rdr2 settings, and is only a temporary fix
