you get to choose whether you aim down the scope or from the shoulder like normal, and max it can zoom is either short or medium scope.
while sniper is always aim through the scope and it can be equip with long scope.
So basically no, you get to choose whether you look through the scope or not, you get an option to see further with the scope while still have all the repeater's functionality.

Any kind of property that upgraded your camp would be cool. Trains that weren't useless in freeroam would be cool. Bank robberies would be sick (but maybe a little simple? Might have to go full on heist for that) and those are bigger ones. There's a ton of little qol stuff (like my canoe pls) or adding cosmetics from single player that would go a long way as at least a good faith "we still like you guys playing"

trader, because that will give you the core 3 roles, they are the main 3 backbone of making money/gold, after that you will just be doing it for fun as moonshiner does give you more money but it require tons of attention and work, while naturalist offers fun legendary animals to study or hunt, grinding money is also harder for it, and prestigious bh don't add much.

I usually run a restoration ability build (paint it black, strange medicine, cold blooded, eye for an eye) but am experimenting with swapping cold blooded for fool me once
I think if you're stocked on special health cures and potent snake oil you'll be fine

There's missions for both good honor and bad honor/karma
If you have access to the varmint rifle and sedative rounds your best bet would be killing sedated animals to lower your honor

Ahh, I guess I should specify; I've been making do with Potent Health Cures and Potent Snake Oils, because I camp in Tall Trees a lot and the ingredients for those are really easy to harvest there - except for Yarrow. I was looking for a way to reduce how often I need to go out of my way to get it or buy it (I make a lot but spend almost every penny lol). I only started getting in to tonics about 40 levels ago probably and every suggestion I can see is to go with the strongest one, so I'm curious if the Potent instead of Special is good enough or if the jump in power is worth the inconvenience to harvest. I want to cut down from a Health + Deadeye tonic to one item that I need to use, because the menu is a bit clunky 😅

You have to kill in one hit, no matter what. I play controller and the auto-aim has always killed rabbits / raccoons / etc and not ruined it, never had to adjust after the auto. For larger animals the Varmint Rifle just doesn't work.

For birds you use either a Varmint Rifle or a Bow with Small Game arrows, depending on the bird I think.
For anything coyote-sized or larger I use a Bolt Action and I don't think it's fucked anything up

Bounty hunter missions pay gold to unlock future roles, which is a huge help, but I personally find trader way more fun. I do not think moonshine is worth doing at regular pay; I leveled entirely through clearing revenue stops

The date for the Red Dead Online funeral is July 13th.
This comes courtesy of Red Dead News on Twitter. Reddit comments say it is happening at 09:00 PT, 12:00 ET, and 17:00 BST at Blackwater Cemetery, but we will update this article when things are more official.

because it's been a year since the last update and in a newswire, they announced that they won't be doing any content updates for the rest of the year outside of telegrams and blood money missions
meanwhile, redemption 1 multiplayer never had such updates
