On the other hand, Chinese gamers have access to a type of services called "game (connection) accelerator", which is a type of somehow-legal, specialized-for-gaming VPN/proxy service aiming to make connection to games better - though somehow if I try to use such a service, the game totally can't connect. Somehow.

I haven’t had too many issues with those kinds of spots it really just depends on your connection I think. I know there has been a lot of bugs with this game since the beginning and they haven’t really done a whole lot to fix all of them

Do stranger missions and blood money (recommended) to get gold. If you can find a treasure map (via level reward or treasure hunter random encounter), that will give you a good sum of gold too.
Gold is only tied to how long you take to complete the mission. If you feel like milking it, stall missions until you hit 12 minutes before you submit it. Good or bad honor doesn't seem to matter.
