Generally you wanna bring cripps whole animals (the more stars the better) and have him break them down and add them to material stock which he will slowly convert to goods

You sell these in increments of 25 at first, which gets you a big chunk of cash and xp

My understanding is that you can just do deliveries with as little as one good and get the same amount of xp as if you had delivered a full load, so you can just do that a bunch

That's the method I was instrucred on, but I did it the normal slow way

The veteran players might know more but I figured I'd share what I do know

my strat to level fast (and it worked) was put the camp in bayou nwa, the nearest location to the wather

from where u will only had 3 destinys and u can use the railway to 2 of them, pretty fast

Give cripps full carcasses, more stars the better
I highly recommend placing your camp in big valley near hanging dog ranch, it's the best spot for animals.
When you reach level 5 you can purchase the medium delivery wagon and the large delivery wagon at level 10 or 15 i believe. Bigger the wagon, more the payment.
Also hanging dog ranch is a great spot because you have a trapper near you, naturalist, bounty posters at wallace station very closeby and even a legendary animal spawn (though that's rare, I've only gotten it once)

I literally always put my camp there

Not to forget the beautiful landscape

@vocal totem what do you mean? If someone has it and it is in your wagon, they can only give it to your trader. It's pretty easy to find. Just go up to Wapiti and head towards catorra springs and back until it spawns. Be readh though...swarms of wolves will spawn. You need slow and steady equipped

I mean if it is in THEIR* wagon they can only donate to your camp. You won't be able to take the pelt to gus to get the garment which is what i m guessing you want to do?

I'd say Carcano is better for PvP as well, yeah. True, Rolling Block inflicts more damage, but ultimately if you can hit your shots you'll be doing more total damage with a Carcano given that the Rolling Block's reload time is so slow in comparison.

This is especially true when you have Winning Streak equipped.

As for animals, either works.

Rolling Block inflicts more damage but can only shoot one round at a time before you must reload, and reloading is pretty slow in comparison.

The point of the "Press Charges" function is to indicate hostile individuals to other players

All I did was stop them from shooting up Saint Denis

Players can only press charges on you if they did not appear as an "enemy" dot on your map at the time of the killing

So you must've waited a bit before killing them

What is going on with my Naturalist missions? Twice now I've gone for the kill so as to collect the pelt but then I fail the mission because it is damaged. I've completed 2 or 3 of them and with those it seemed like I could just kill the animal for the coat like in story mode, or collect a sample for Naturalist XP and whatnot.

you were sent there by harriet to sample the animals, not kill it

so its fitting enough that it “failed”

I just checked my field guide, and I've absolutely done the Ruddy Moose mission twice. Sedated and sampled it once, killed and skinned it once. I'm 100% certain that both missions were triggered by interacting with Harriet, as I read a little about the role before really diving into it and decided that chasing legendaries through her was the best path.

All I haven't done is taken a picture, with the Ruddy Moose. The two that just failed for me were Iwatka Panther, and Milk Coyote. The coyote was in a cage at a camp, and I went straight for the kill. I don't remember clearly, but I think I may have tracked the panther before opening fire. (Literal fire, I spent an explosive round on the beast).

I may have used explosive ammo on the coyote, now that I think about it. Maybe that is the rub. I'm pretty sure I didn't do that with the successful ones

Kind of makes sense to me as a game mechanic. Going to try again and use express rounds rather than explosive. Tell me I'm wrong or wish me luck. I'll report back if I remember to

I'll shoot a horse if I see one during a fight

Because when players call their horse mid-battle, they're either using it to grab new weapons or they're going to ride it, the latter of which means they're either running away or trying to fight you on horseback

You can still grab weapons from a horse when it's dead. So when I kill it, it eliminates the risk of that other possibility, while still allowing them to equip what they need.

Unless they revive it, of course, but I'm probably going to kill them in the process of reviving it

then while theyre respawning ill revive it for them

idk why because most of the time they started the fight because theyre a dick like that

but i prefer the Pump in PVE and DB in PVP, but you gotta make sure your bullets hit, else you're kinda fucked

that is if you manage to get up to them

Double-Barrel is better only if you're using Paint it Black. For almost all other situations, Pump is preferable.
