The online menu. Like the free roam blood money and them.. what they are.

well online mostly play out with grinding stranger missions and blood money missions

blood money being a glorified stranger mission with a 3 parter strain

however, you can get a thing called capitale in these missions if you know where to look

#

and by spending that capitale on the contacts that offer blood money missions you can unlock a robbery mission

#

15 capitale for normal, 20 for hard, and 25 for ruthless

#

if you want to make a meager amount of gold and skaroonis go with ruthless

#

there are also roles, some offer a good way to earn gold i.e. bounty hunter and some earn cash i.e. trader, collector, and moonshiner. Then, there’s the black sheep of the bunch naturalist it doesn’t give much gold nor money but you can get access to the harrietum officinalis which can turn you into an animal for a short period of time

#

you need 15 gold for standard bounty hunter 30 for the one with prestige bounties which are harder but pays a little better, 25 or 15 for a trader table, 15 for a collector’s bag, 25 for a bootlegger shack, and 25 for the naturalist field guide

#

if you want to reliably farm gold i suggest doing the three parter blood money mission and waiting for 20 or so minutes until it reached the 30 second mark or you can try your luck holding out against waves and waves of the unwashed masses by playing call to arms which will net you a gold bar for each run and a few hundred skaroonis for your troubles

#

there are also story missions some of which require you to change your honor level to proceed

The starter horses you get from the tutorial aren't awful. You should be fine with the starter horse for a while unless you skipped the tutorial entirely and got stuck with Scrawny Nag.
