Stupid game. Was on my way delivering 6 bounty targets (5 in reality cause 1 got away and my dumb posse member killed one) then i get disconnected, switch servers, and fail the mission. Then since i failed i decide to do a moonshine run. Leave my shack for about 10 seconds and "Oops. You've been disconnected again. Switching servers. We decided we didn't want you to deliver any moonshine so we're going to make you lose the entire shipment."

Do Story Missions, they're gold in color. They give a generous amount of gold and cash.
Save up the gold and buy the Bounty Hunter Role from any bounty poster or sheriff. Bounty Hunter role gives gold for every job.
Do Blood Money Missions too.
For getting weapons, Cattle Revolver is good for the time being, Schofield is the best. Pump-Action Shotgun is fantastic at close range and the Bolt-Action Rifle is marvelous at medium range.

And if you want repeaters, Lancaster Repeater is good.

After you get the Bounty Hunter Role, you CAN (this is a big can though) grind gold for the Pass for the Quick Draw Club. Although I wouldn't suggest this because it ends on August 9th and the grind for gold is kinda tough and time-consuming.

But what you can do with the gold is probably get the Naturalist role for 15 gold and that helps you give sample kit, animal field guide for experienced hunting and a free out of main camp campsite setup kit, like Arthur's.

Bounty Hunter, Trader and Collector are profitable roles, I think.

Also invest your cash in new horses, because Scrawny Nag won't help you for long. It's just your backup horse.

You can get the Chestnut Red Arabian for $250 but beware, even if it has very good handling, stamina and speed, a simple firefight and/or snake will scare it and it'll buck you off easily.

I suggest you go for the Mustang breeds. They're far better, even though they cost $500. They don't easily buck you off, possess very good stamina, health and has decent speed. My Mustang has full radial Health and Stamina cores/meters.

Best horse is the Missouri Fox Trotter but that's for later. It's high rank and costs $950.

The beginning is slow, it's boring and it is a grind.
Follow your yellow marks on map, those are missions which gives you a little 'kickstart' into your first role.
Keep track of your progressions and reset your "achivements" as you complete them.

I my self started in the online game, about 6 days ago, and seem to be out of goals besides grinding out the 5 different roles.
