If you have no roles yet I would recommend Bounty Hunter. It gives you access to bounties which can be done one after the other forever; they also pay out .32 gold if you wait down a 12 minute timer on them. Next after that I would advise either Moonshiner or Trader because both offer passive income. Moonshiner is a little more active with about five story missions, bootlegger missions, and a whole bar to interact with. After that I would choose Collector which can provide another sort of passive or immediate income; nothing like covering a quick cost by selling collectibles out of collection. And finally...Naturalist. Naturalist offers some pretty good benefits in of itself but probably the biggest perk of the role is you can do Legendary Animal Missions and you can kill the animal instead of sedating it, allowing you to skin the carcass and take the pelt with you. Some of the pelts are worth 40-60 trade goods, so you can use Naturalist to easily fill your trader role.

All things being said you should buy the role that interests you the most. They all make money and they all come with interesting perks and items/

bringing them in alive also gives you more money

This is not the case. You want to go for the highest payout per minute, which is exactly 12 minutes after you start the bounty mission. This awards the optimal Gold/$RDO pay out, which will be .32/Whatever the bounty is worth. Waiting til the last thirty seconds will only net you however long you've been on the bounty, so unless you hit that 12 minute mark you want get that sweet .32 gold.

I know you're not wrong in it being the highest payout by the way, I just wanted to point out that the highest payout isn't necessarily the most time/cost effective.

Really depends on personal preference. All the weapons do the job when used right. Some are better for quick headshots. Some are better for slow firing damage builds. It really depends on what you prefer. I've got 200 days played on red dead and can honestly say they are all viable in pve. I'd say try them all out and pick your favorites in time

Can't give a definite answer for Xbox specifically but from my experience on PS4 and PC combined, it's heads or tails as to whether you get into a decent server or not. Bear in mind that with the $5.00 release of Online not too long ago it unfortunately attracted a lot of GTA5-migrators, so you may come across some trigger-happy low-leveled players because of it. Putting them in their place with explosive ammo seems to do the trick, otherwise I'd opt for parley and putting on Defensive mode in your Online options whenever possible.

Luckily your "blip" isn't broadcasted across the map like in GTA5 and is restricted to a perimeter, but this can expand if you do things such as killing other players and your blip turns red to alert others for it.

I'd say about 75 - 80% of the playerbase on xbox will wave when they pass. The rest will ignore you and you will find the occasional griefer. Most days at least. From my experience they are actually quite rare and when it does happen they are usually really bad at the game

If you wait until you're a high level to buy it, be prepared for nonstop notification spam since it'll tell you you've unlocked everything and it goes through the unlocks.

I’m curious to know as to what style of munitions you guys use the most and for what occasions. When I first started playing online, I was hellbent on HV being the top shelf choice (because bigger price tag=better, right?). But lately I’ve been switching rounds based off scenarios and all that. For closer targets I typically use express, farther away I swap out for high velocity. I almost never use split point because I’ve never found the need to increase accuracy as an almost exclusively Paint it Black user. Does anybody have helpful insights on this?

Typically speaking for free-roam/stranger missions, running any timers down to the last 30 seconds/when the numbers turn red nets you the max amount of money/exp/etc.
Also story missions in RDO are good to barrel through

bounty hunter gives a bit more gold than stranger missions, if you max out the payout of a tier 3 bounty you uusually get 0.36 gold, maybe more depending on how many targets there are

most i got was when i did 5 star owlhoot, 0.5 gold

the payout in money is probably the worst of the roles tbh, idk about naturalist but compared to the other 4 it has the weakest money payout

I'm trying to run a loadout with some versatility: sawed-offs for close-range, Lancaster for mid-range, Carcano for long-range.

If you're someone who uses longarms more often, then it's not that big of a deal

If you usually run duel pistol then I wouldn't

I use a sawed off as a sidearm to have a shotgun when I need it

I usually keep a rolling block and a Litchfield as well

So I cover all the range I need

I tried running with pistols as my mid-range and a double-barrel as my shotgun, but I felt as if my pistols didn't have enough range

What I could do is run dual pistols, a Lancaster, and a shotgun, but then I sacrifice my long-range weapon

I'd say replace your pistol with a sawed off, then replace your shotgun with a bolt action with a scope, or something similar
