Real Answer: After you beat the Legendary Bounties you can replay them on a harder difficulty for a higher payout. On the hardest difficulties you pretty much need a posse to help you and the payout ain't half bad. One of the Legendary Bounties pays out around $150 if you capture the whole gang alive which isn't hard with 3-4 people.

Depends on what you want to do. If you want to eventually have every role, do the main story chain (8 missions, couple hours or so, you can break it up if you don't want to do it all at once), do stranger missions, and play in the featured series; these will all give you gold nuggets (0.xx) which will eventually add up to a bar.
Buy the bounty hunter role first (15 gold), as this is the only role that gives you gold for every bounty you turn in, then you can unlock the other roles with the gold you earn.
That's what most people do, but it's hardly a requirement. If you want to do one of the other roles first, then buy one of them. See what they do, buy whatever you find may be the most fun for you.

The game updates every Tuesday (not major updates, it just cycles out discounts and what the double events are), so see what the 2x or 3x event is this week, and maybe do that. It just means you'll get 2 or 3 times the amount of cash/gold.
Today's updated actually added telegrams, which are instanced missions (meaning just you or you + your posse), and they all award gold on a 25 minute cooldown, so you could do those too if you want

Yes, there are free roam events, you'll see an invite pop up when they're about to start. Deathatch, races, cooperative events, etc.

Depends on the time limit. If it's a 5-10 minute one, sure. If you have 18 minutes left, then no. By the time that 18 minutes counts down, you could do another bounty, maybe two.

I haven't really noticed anything happen with the honor system. I've been mostly fully honorable but I've done stranger missions that gave me a negative boost to it and it hasn't moved.
Besides, there's a dude (Old Man Jones) who you can go to and you can buy your way back to good or bad honor anyway.

The only thing I know for certain that it affects is the opening story mode. If you pick the negative options, you'll only be able to do the low honor followups. If you pick the good options, you can only do the high honor followups.
