You can put the scopes on the other longerarms and use it when you want to, it isn't forced like those two.

I love Lancaster

In general, yeah.
It's the most accurate repeater, making it more reliable than the others.
The Evans deals the same damage, holds almost twice as much ammo, but is less accurate- you can't fire consecutive shots as accurately. It's a great alternative to the Lancaster for PvE but not for PvP.
The Litchfield deals the highest damage, almost the same as the Bolt, but is very inaccurate, it's hard to land hits with this overall, PiB helps but you'd have to rely on it for every shot and for when you don't/can't use PiB it's a difficult gun to use.
The Carbine deals less damage than the others, and because of this and it's smaller ammo capacity it has to be reloaded constantly; should not be used once you have another repeater.

Most new players get the Red Arabian as their first horse. Horses are so similar in performance though, so whatever you get can be a good horse; the saddle/stirrups make the biggest difference.

I ran around on a $50 Morgan and had pretty much the same experience as with my $950 horses. Find a horse you like the look of and give it a good saddle and stirrups and you’ll be set. Don’t stress the stats since they can all be reasoned away with.

Health: Useless in PvP since it’s such a large target, and headshots still always kill in one shot. Marginally useful in PvE.
Stamina: Made irrelevant because of stirrups and/or Nacogdoches saddle. You can pretty much have infinite stamina with them.
Speed/Accel: Ignorable as they make such an insignificant change they might as well not be a stat for horses. Speed difference between the slowest and fastest horse in the game across many speed tests all lie within seconds of each other, or even less on shorter distances.

Nacogdoches saddles gives a -35% stamina cost, it’s the only saddle that has a stamina drain bonus built in. Stirrups are primarily what you want to upgrade so you can run for longer. They can give up to -50% stamina cost, and the Nacogdoches saddle with the highest level stirrups will give you a -85% stamina cost bonus.

Revolvers

Disclaimer: Damage values will change according to ability cards and weight. See the pinned Arsenal post for more information on weapon stats.

Navy deals 41.8 damage and is the most accurate of the revolvers. This is a great advantage in PvP where you can deal consistent DPS even at slightly further ranges. However due to its slow reload speed and just having 6 shots, you'll be stuck reloading it often, so I find it can be replaced with a couple other revolvers for PvE.

LeMat deals 38.85 damage and boasts a larger ammo capacity and a shotgun alt-fire. While it has the slowest reload speed of the revolvers, the extra 3 shots make up for it. It's a great revolver for both PvP and especially PvE.

Schofield deals 34 damage, but fires slightly slower than the Cattleman. It reloads slightly slower than the Cattleman when one-handed and reloads slightly faster than the Cattleman when dual-wielded. This can make it a fair alternative to the LeMat for PvE as it has a reasonably quick reload speed and is more comfortable to use because of this.

Cattleman deals 30.9 damage, and stats-wise it doesn't have anything special to note, nor does it really suffer any loss in stats anywhere besides maybe damage, where the LeMat and Navy deal much more. Fine PvE sidearm, but not particularly suggested for PvP due to lower damage values.

Double Action deals the least amount of damage of the revolvers, sitting at 25.25. It is also quite inaccurate. These along with a slower reload speed than the Cattleman make it impractical as a sidearm. However when using the Gunslingers Choice ability card it becomes the most accurate weapon in the game. Double Action with GSC is a great PvE weapon for headshots, if you don't mind the somewhat slow reload speed it has.

Bolt Action rifle is beatiful for PVP situations.

I can't spell, but.

You can pull off 1v8's against red dot players with the bolt action.

You should always have one on you.

Lancaster repeater and Bolt Action, always have it on you in case you get ran up on by a gang.

Without using Paint it Black it’s just unreliable

It’s bloom size when you first aim the gun and after you fire is twice the size of the Bolt Action/Lancaster/Evans, and it shrinks about 25% slower too.

Hi, the legendary bounty for phillip carlier. Do the alligators infinitely spawn until I leave the area? I have no problem with this mission solo except I can’t get the guy on the horse fast enough before I get mauled. He died when I dragged his body with the lasso away. Random posse memebers always quit during the hallucination scene which is a pain but should be easy to adjust to imo.

They do the most damage, but the rate of fire is bad

The Semi Pistol and Mauser are interchangeable. Both deal the same damage and have the same rate of fire when dual wielding so the extra rounds the Mauser has over the Semi makes it the better choice statistically. 4 extra rounds > a 0.30 seconds faster reload speed, these two things are their only difference.

But the Semi is better than the Mauser when using the Gunslingers Choice ability card; it gets a unique bonus that the Mauser does not. The Semi has its recoil bloom cut in half, which is a huge advantage over the Mauser. Half of the recoil bloom size > 4 extra shots.

They’re too dissimilar to the other two to really compare. Pretty much polar opposites. Highest damage and accuracy of all the sidearms but also the slowest to fire. Volcanic deals almost twice as much damage but it’s fire rate is 3x slower. Personally I think the Navy is a better version of its archetype. Navy’s damage is in between the Semi/Mauser and Volcanic, but shoots twice as quickly as the Volcanic. Ends up being better DPS than the Volcanic with no real loss in accuracy since the Navy already has a smaller recoil bloom than the other sidearms (besides Volc).
