i suggest just getting started by doing the story missions. youll get introduced to how the game works and earn some money too. from there the game will give you opportunities on new things to try out, such as events and others things throughout the world

dont stress out too much about trying to get good immediately, or get money immediately. just get a feel for the game and how it works

additionally, since youre on pc, there will be a lot of hackers. try to avoid players (unless you choose to join their posse) as most people are aggressive, but not all

I’m rank 100 something and got some decent horses/weapons/clothes and whatnot but honestly I’m not that bothered by the idea of grinding for all of the stuff again

kind of 50/50 on the whole thing because I don’t play rdo a lot anymore but I’ve been getting more into making male characters lately — including dancing around the idea of writing a book set in the American West in the 1800s — and feel like having the game to test out looks or take screenshots for art references would be good practice for me

There are a few bugs on Dutch's outfit: after death or Fast travel, you spawn with your previous outfit (not the Redcliff one). Second, you can't wear the hat and rings separately like some players did after the release of Dutch's outfit in the Quick Draw Pass in 2021.

trader or bounty hunter, although bounty hunter costs more if you choose prestigious.

trader can get you at most $625 per run (assuming you have a large wagon, distant delivery with 100/100 goods).
the most a legendary bounty can get you is $225 plus around 0.48 gold (5 star, only a few of the legendarys give this amount).
moonshining can get you, at most, $247.50 per run (strong moonshine, 3 star recipe, preferred buyer).
naturalist fluctuates just like collector, but its giving 3x money right now. each legendary sample from one of her missions gives ~$50 or higher (usually higher). one full collection is worth at least $60, the highest collection being valued $700.
collector, it depends on what collection youre turning in, but one full collection is worth at least $155, the highest being worth $378 (if youre turning them all in at once, this stacks up. however its very time consuming).

collectors starter costs 15 gold, so is trader and bounty hunter (another 15 if you want to get a prestigious bounty hunter license)
25 gold for naturalist and moonshiner

Yes i have done a few of the legendary ones. But i think its pretty fun to hunt, and bounties look pretty cool too. Moonshining is just farming materials i think so thats pretty boring. Collector is finding things right? Getting in a mssion with clues and looking. And trader is hunting animals. Are any of these wrong? If not then ill choose trader or bounty hunter as you said. They are the only ones that give you a wagon too

a strong moonshine takes 48 mins and i believe the moonshine buyers reroll every ~1 hour, which gives you a pretty small window to race back to your moonshine shack in order to get it to the buyer in time.

dang [pkr's] minding my own business and two p.k.r's kept attacking my char I tried to defend myself and run away they just kept killing my char multiple times. Every time I respawned the same two clowns kept attacking my char and lit my char on fire . People like this make some people not want to play m.m.o's or be forced into pvp .

Discounts don't stack, the sample kit's already 10 gold bars off. Pretty sure you'd also need a specialist role initiation item for the prestigious license. The role initiation item will only work on the butcher's table, collector bag or starter bounty hunter license.

Turkoman's, Foxtrotters and Norfolk Roadsters are good stamina-wise. I personally ride a Blue Roan Nokota which is considered low stamina but she almost never drains completely. As long as you have a good saddle and you calm your horse regularly, you shouldn't have an issue.

no, say you kill a 3 star buck, but its not a clean kill, normally it will take it down to a 2 star, but with the trinket you have a chance of it staying as a 3 star regardless of a clean kill or not.

If you visit a tailor and select an item, it'll show whether it's appropriate for hot or cold weather. Unfortunately many of the clothing items are rank locked and quite expensive for beginners. I'd suggest to focus on ranking up. You'll receive a treasure map every 5 levels that gives around 1 gold & $100.

Right. More often then not you'll see players using the Navy Revolvers more then the other pistols/Revolvers in the game. I use my Revolvers more then my pump shotgun or rolling block rifle

Big tip for Trader (and all aspects of the game) make sure you have the Bolt Action Rifle (with medium scope) and Varmint Rifle. These are really the only 2 guns you will need for the entire game. I would prioritize getting them over literally everything else in the game.
