If it's an ordinary panther, try coming back 2 days after your last encounter with it. And come back during the evening or night.

If it's the legendary panther, it's only accessible during masterhunter 10

When your horse bucks you off, go in dead eye and shoot the panther. It usually does a prep before it attacks you.

Best approach is to go very slow and stealthy. You can slip in, nab the item that Rains Fall needs, and then slip back out without alerting anyone.

It's a slow process but saying hello to folks takes approximately zero effort.

Every three people you say hello to will give you positive honor.

And every 20-30 or so times you get positive honor, your overall honor will jump up a tick.

It'll feel mind-numbing after a while but it really is the most efficient way to raise honor.

fyi your max possible honor (in either direction) is capped until you progress a certain ways through the game.

overall I find high honor to be absolutely worth maintaining, especially for the store discounts.

That 50% discount helps a lot when it comes to buying weapons and clothes.

i jumped over a broken bridge so that i wont have to go all over to tall trees and when i reached great planes just avoid the roads

and i also managed to escape lol

you can jump from a broken bridge just east of fort riggs

its a bit risky but i got it first try
