Though there’s a glitch to get there and once you do, surprisingly that whole area is kinda? accurate to rdr1 and has high res textures and assets for a place thats out of bounds. So maybe they were adding Mexico but it was scrapped. And recently after rdo updated people have noticed more vegetation has been added to that area and more textures are high res

Im guessing they're trying to take more time with it because it is hard to top rdr2. Especially when a different character has to fill in big shoes - Arthur Morgan's shoes. Sometimes 3rd time aint the charm so they have to be really meticulous about it.

Like it's better to make two great classics rather than tarnish the series with a crappy 3rd installment.

But as for me, i still do hope for a rdr3 even if the chances are slim

Behind a shed in the farm (east of tumbleweed) there’s a lock box with a gold ingot (300$ one not the 500$ bar sry) and naval compass, don’t pick up the gold or you’re done. Instead climb the little outhouse thingy beside the table to get on the table with the lock box. Make sure the box is open, then go into first person and use your cam and foot to kick the bar off the table. Make sure it’s off the table or it won’t work. Then you can pick it up, ride off not too far and come back. Takes barely a minute but u might struggle with getting the bar off the table so once it’s out the box and on the table u can use ur gun to shoot it off but that will get you witnesses for vandalism. Good thing the farm is isolated so go on a slaughter fest and leave if you wish

I haven't missed any missions and I'm in early epilogue 1. There are only 104 missions in the compendium. But to get 100% it says there are 107. What am I not understanding?

Oh, I know that. But if you add up in the compendium all of the missions there are 104. Ch1 (6), Ch2 (18), Ch3 (17), Ch4 (14) , Ch5 (9), Ch6 (19), Ep1 (10), Ep2 (11). Add all those up it is 104.

Just wondering where 107 comes from.

Maybe it's the 3 undiscovered collectables for the epilogues?
