I find the controls fine, I enjoy taking in the immersive stuff of this game so realistic movements seem better to me. You can trot fast next to other characters on horseback but I don't think you can run away from them much. Seems daft since the conversations are part of the whole story.

Tbh almost all horses can be just as fast as the Arabian if you use the best saddles and stirrups (the best saddles aren’t at the stable, you have to hunt for pelts and craft it from the trapper) and winning races in random encounters gains you +1 point for speed so just doing all that you will have a max speed horse with good acc, so just pick a horse you think looks good.

If u want another Arabian get the black Arabian it’s same as white in terms of speed but has more stamina and health. The things is tho u can’t tame it in the wild it can only be bought in saint denis in ch4. If you want one for free tho there’s a trick to get it just look up “how to get free black Arabian” and you should find it.

Hi I started playing red dead 2 on pc and it’s pretty cool so far. I killed the legendary bear and saw the trapper to make a hat out of the pelt. Now, I just got 1 shotted by a cougar and I respawned without my bear hat. Does it mean that the hat is gone forever??

It’s on your horse

go near your horse/mount it and go to you weapon wheel, change the page with whatever key it is on pc to go to the horse section of the wheel over there in the bottom right there’s your hats. Just like weapons u can select that and scroll to choose between whatever hats you have stored on your horse

if it’s not there go to camp/rent a hotel room and go to your wardrobe, go in the hats section. Over there select ‘crafted hats’ and it should be there. Store it on our horse from there so that it’s always accessible or just put it on

I hope this is the right place to ask but does anybody know if it’s possible to get DualShock prompts while playing on PC? My controller works but it’s showing Xbox prompts. I have the game through steam.
