It's a known issue - the key seems to be to make the game save a new autosave then go into the past missions, I had the same thing when I'd load up then try to redo a mission but once it had updated my autosave it was fine.

north east of tumbleweed there’s a farm/ranch kinda thing and behind one of the buildings there’s a lock box which has a gold ingot

instead of picking it up go into first person and climb on top of the table

then use the camera and ur foot to kick the ingot off the table and pick it up when it’s on the ground

once you have it just ride off to the train tracks and come back and you can repeat it

doesn’t work if you have looted it normally before or if you picked it up when it was still touching the box’ hit box

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, and I'll move it if not, but I'm having severe fps problems in single player, just started a new playthrough on pc (it's also my first on pc though I've played before on ps4) and in Valentine I'm only getting like 10 fps around the area with the saloon and bank but anywhere else in the game so far I've been getting 40-60 fps, I've even tried lowering a lot of setting to low and textures from ultra to high but didn't even get a noticable increase in fps anywhere in Valentine. It's weird because in online I could get ~60 in most places and at least 40 anywhere else.
I've installed a few mods, not sure if that could have an effect.
My specs are a Ryzen 5 3500, 4gb gtx 1650s, and 8gb ram (which is admittedly low for this game).

You can approach the wild arabian faster and you can also feel the horse's heartbeat on your controller while calming the arabian (don't run though). As you approached it, carefully go to the horse and the arabian will allow you to go closer to her. When you mount the horse, use the left joystick up and down faster (but don't break your controller) while pressing this □ button to calm her :D

I'm confused by the "lending a hand" trophy completion percentage. Steam tells me I have completed 20% of it, but I can't make sense of that unless I'm counting the number of missions wrong. Does it make sense that it would be at 20% completed after chapter 2? I can find the lists of the missions that need to be done, but I'm not sure how it counts them (ex: does money lending 1-3 count as one mission all together, or as 3 separate ones)

I just did the money lending 4 mission but my percentage didn't go up from 20%, but I realize now I looted the guys body and my honor dropped so that makes sense so I'll have to reload the earlier save, but I still am paranoid I'll mess this up.

Finally got around to trying it. Can't interact with the pelt/skin in any way. It's just there. Not in inventory but it's on the back of the horse (see pic in red-dead-media). No big deal. I've saved and closed and reloaded several times (not to fix this but just normal playing) and it hasn't gone away.

It doesn't make any difference so I don't care, but interesting. Wonder if I stabled it. (edit - stabling it didn't get rid of it, nor did changing saddles.)

so uk how for you to become wanted either a lawman should see you commit a crime or a witness would see you, then report it to the lawman.
so that’s where the mask comes in now it doesn’t hide your identity from the lawmen no matter what if they see you you’re wanted, but the witnesses won’t know who you are and you will be wanted as ‘unknown suspect’ and while the wanted is still there, during that period if a lawman sees you you will be wanted, unless you have made changes to your physical appearance (clothes, hair etc) but there’s always a chance they recognize you nonetheless so best to steer clear or cross a state border. When the wanted meter goes down and disappears and you have not been recognized, you will have no bounty no matter what crime you committed.

basically, wear mask to commit crimes but not infront of lawmen and flee the area quick

So robbing people is fairly easy to get away with as long as i kill all witnesses and not get spotted by a lawman.

If i want to rob a store in town however can i do then 'quietly' so i can make a run for it before any lawman arrives?

also you need not kill witnesses if since they won’t recognize you with the mask on

but if you didn’t have the mask and they saw you, kill them or you wil get a bounty

the witnesses marked with different colors on the map they all mean stuff like:

white- saw a crime scene but not what happened (like a dead body) just steer clear and you will be fine

maroon/dark red: saw you commit crime but don’t recognize you, if reported you will be an unknown suspect so as long as you aren’t spotted by lawmen you won’t have a bounty

light red: saw you commit crime and recognized you, you will get a bounty if they report so better to kill them

also another tip crossing state border will instantly clear the wanted status

unless you’re are being actively pursued

Ok need help. I stole a wagon and took it (with the horses) to the horse fence. I cut one off and the guy asks if I want to sell it, but the price is grayed out so I can't choose it. I tried feeding it and petting it and mounting it but no luck. I ended up having to revert a save because I was messing around so much I accidentally put the fence in a headlock and then he ran away.

Can you not sell horses from wagons?

Sadly in rdr2 story mode the only way to get rid of it is to go into a train station and pay of your bounty or u could just walk in the town ur wanted in and surrender to the lawmen they both are the same bounty price but I don’t recommend walking in because sometimes the lawmen take a bit more extra for them selves..

Say it’s like a 20 dollor bounty u can litterly just walk into shops and stuff only if lawmen don’t see u. But say it’s like a 300-400 bounty u can still sneak in but there’s gonna be a a lot of lawmen surrounding the town

but yes if there’s a lockdown u can’t do anything

And u should just leave the state and come back bc when ur in lockdown every lawmen is looking for u and gonna kill you
