Hey all, I’m just curious if anyone else felt like me re the end of chapter 4/ chapter 5.
I adore the shit out of this game (probably only behind Breath of the Wild, Paper Mario and Fire Emblem Three Houses for me all time) but I’ve gotta say the pacing in this part upset me a bit. Once you do the bank mission, it’s pretty much mission on mission for like 3 hours. You can’t really explore Guarma, the cut scenes are really short given the monumental things that happen, and once you get off the boat in Van Horn you can’t save until after you murder the Pinkertons.
It feels crummy to be disappointed with this amazing game, but I just felt they could have made this section much more substantial by padding it out through more cut scenes and allowing the player to explore

Like I wandered thru Van Horn for half an hour, died when a horse at the barn kicked me, and then when I jumped on the horse and went straight out of town the D’Angelo song cued. It didn’t cue when I explored the town.

yeah it also feels a bit rushed or like something is missing, i know originally guarma was smaller, a tiny bit bigger than the entire state of Lemoyne, and you could explore it fully. You could've done stranger missions (voice lines and strings of code confirm this) like returning stolen artefacts to a collector, treasure hunts (beta map of guarma confirms this) along with discovering tons of new animals like birds, spiders, other types of snakes, and even possibly a water monster (sound files). There were even other locations on guarma and it's speculated one of those locations was the gang's camp while on the island. It's possible there was even a legendary snake we could've killed. Also travel to guarma would've been possible in the epilogue by buying a boat ticket. It's absolute crap that they cut all of this out, and the main cause could be the addition of New Austin to the original world map (it wasn't supposed to be there at first).

I mean, I'm not a fan of the setting since I just prefer fantasy games but damn...... the graphics and animations are so real. And the horses.... I love the horses.

As someone who actually enjoys riding in real life I really like horses in this game, they are far more real than in any other game
