Let me work my way down,
Bow-Small game arrows- For animals such as rats, snakes, and small birds.

Varmint Rifle- For animals such as Rabbits,Opossums, ducks etc.

Bow- regular/improved- For deer, pronghorns hogs etc.

Repeaters- While mostly used for combat, they can also replace the bow in some instances for hunting.

Hunting Rifles (Carcano, Springfield etc.) - For animals from coyotes, to Big bison and bears.

When hunting, never use pistols if your aiming for perfect pelts.
Always use high velocity for hunting

So.. I started chapter 2, after the bar fight. I was going to hunt a Legendary Bear with that one guy, and I saved right before I engaged the bear after said person had left back to camp (Hosea? Yeah, him.)

I died instantly. I reloaded my save after dying, and it set me back allllll the way to the start of Chapter 2 and the save even says that I had just started Chapter 2 (Eastbound or whatever the name of the mission thing is)

otherwise it's not until early in chapter 6 you unlock it

it's really not a great dual wield gun

and it's mostly a combination of revolver bottom stats and Semi Auto Pistol damage

you want things that aim true, not shoot fast. Weapon proficiencies increase fire rate anyways.

There are some Woodpeckers in the Roanoke Ridge area, but eh, it's not great. If that Fort doesn't work out, go between Owanjila Lake and the Hanging Dog Ranch, there is several spawn points there for Woodpeckers.

Indeed, there is no trophies/whatever tied to Trapper clothing, I just found them a nice thing to do while working on other things. Something to keep me from going to Cra-Cra.

Found a good way for Gambler 10 if anyone's interested though. Replay the Chapter 4 mission "A Fine Night of Debauchery" as it has you winning 2 scripted hands, then just die 3 times, skip the next checkpoint, end the mission, go into any saloon (I did Valentine) and go in on the first hand

The other way is to keep going all in on every hand until you get 3 in a row which could take a while sometimes

Hrm, you could probably do the same thing with that Mission in Chapter 2 where you find the Reverend drunk and playing cards at that train station. There is 2 very easy to win poker hand there...

There are 2 Stranger mission sets that John can NOT do, however, you only have to do a certain amount for the 100% checklist, so don't worry about it, it should be more than enough.
